  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.764 for Gloucester House is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.764

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 3.822 for Gloucester House is calculated as follows:

      1. 6 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 6 Positive Reviews = 0.600

      3. (6 Positive Reviews ÷ 54 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.222

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). My husband has Alzheimer's disease. He spent 2 years in Gloucester House. I visited every day and never saw anything I didn't approve of. He was treated with dignity and I believe the staff loved him - treating him always with love right until his death. I have been so grateful to Gloucester House for caring for him so well. Many thanks to all the staff.

My husband has Alzheimer's. He was in Gloucester House for nearly three years. We chose Gloucester House because is has a friendly, caring, homely atmosphere. During his time there it became like a second home for his family. The staff from the office, to the kitchen, carers, nurses, gardeners, activities organiser etc all were kind, friendly, supportive and caring. I felt my husband had excellent care at all times and especially in his last few weeks. I thoroughly recommend it.

My mother has been living here since February 2014 and during that time has had superb care. The staff are very caring and patient and obviously love what they do and those they care. Medical attention is sought promptly, should it be needed, and followed up efficiently. My mother has been very happy here and joins in many of the activities on offer. The food is good and enjoyed by residents, and it is well balanced and well prepared and presented.

My father was a resident at Gloucester House for three years. Throughout this time the care for not only him but myself and my mother was faultless. The staff were incredible and nothing was ever an issue. Until he passed they cared for him in an exceptional manner. They have continued to support us and my mother until this day. We can never repay them.

My mother has been at Gloucester House for 5 years. The level of care has always been very good and in particular delivered by a core of employees who have worked there for some time. The recent purchase of GH by Greensleeves had added an extra dimension to the home with the injection of new money and new, more dynamic ideas to improve the quality of care even further. Other highlights are the lunches, the garden and the management of Greensleeves who listen, are consultative and dedicated to the business of caring.

My husband spent seven months at Gloucester House and died there on 6th September 2015. He required total nursing care in the last months of his life. This was given to him in a caring and compassionate way. There is a friendly, informal attitude to residents and they are treated as individuals with dignity. For the last two weeks of his life he was given excellent palliative care by the nursing and care staff. I was able to visit at any time and stay with him as much as I wanted. Thank you
