Merryfield House Nursing Home is a beautiful Cotswold stone manor house, formally the home of a “Witney Blanket” family. It is set in tranquil gardens on the outskirts of the market town of Witney itself. Built in 1922 it has since been sympathetically converted into a Care Home with Nursing for 19 Residents. The home has 2 areas, the main house with its magnificent entrance hall with sweeping staircase leading directly into the public rooms and secondly, the purpose built ground floor extension for single ensuite accommodation, all with French windows. These are connected by a tasteful glass and wood connecting link corridor with a tastefully designed lounge area. The main lounge is very pretty with a characteristic inglenook fireplace and offers lovely views of the garden. Merryfield House has twice been awarded the Investors in People Accreditation of which we are very proud and also the top CQC rating of "Excellent”.

All staff are trained to a very high standard with either NVQ level 2,3 and 4 in Care and Management plus Customer Care and training in Hospitality which will give you that little bit extra as they care for you and your families.

Review of Merryfield House Nursing Home on Thursday 29 August 2013 by Sandie Sharples (P.A.T. dog handler)

I have been visiting Merryfield with my PAT dog Storm for about 9 years. It is such a welcoming place with a warm friendly atmosphere. There is always something happening: garden parties, singers, keep fit, craft work, classic films etc the residents have choice. So important as part of their independence. Clean, great food and lovely staff. Carers who really care and a home from home for those who need it.

Review of Merryfield House Nursing Home on Tuesday 6 August 2013 by P. Timms (Visitor - Lead Sunday Service)

The staff always offer a warm welcome and a cup of coffee. With others I take a Church service once a month and I go in each week to do a Bible study for some residents. As I say there is always a warm welcome and participating residents are gathered ready for our short time together. Frequently the residents themselves comment on what a wonderful place Merryfield is - the care, the meals and the fact that their visitors are invited to stay for lunch etc.

Review of Merryfield House Nursing Home on Monday 24 June 2013 by Marie Anderson (Wife of resident)

My husband spent the last 7 weeks of his life at Merryfield and I knew he was well cared for. My opinion was respected and as far as he was able he was given a choice. He enjoyed the activities and after spending a long spell in hospital he was very content. Our children were able to spend some quality time with him. I can't fault the nursing staff and carers who are not only good at their jobs but approachable.

My father has lived at Merryfield House for over two years. On moving there, his Consultant from the JRH noticed an improvement in his well-being. The care home staffing is stable, the carers know my father's needs. There are many social activities to choose from. My father is well looked after and is very settled and content.
