The management and staff of Oaken Holt are excellent, caring and extremely conscientious. The environment and grounds are very beautiful and the activities organised by dedicated activity staff such as outings and concerts, art classes and many other activities, are marvellous. Dad is much happier living at Oaken Holt than when he was living on his own after mum died. The atmosphere is loving and very supportive.

My mother has been in Oaken Holt for 2 and a half years, after being widowed, because of her reduced mobility and frequent falls. I have always been very happy with the care and I feel her life has been lengthened considerably, because after years of feeling undervalued, she is in a place where she is loved and wanted. Recently she was extremely ill and we all felt her time had come, the attention she was given was exemplary. All the staff, with Janice at the helm, could not do enough for Mum, she is now back to a level of health and enjoying her days again. I believe it was the care she had which brought her back. She had an issue of concern, it was dealt with in confidence, immediately.

My parents are very well looked after by the very pleasant and professional staff. One parent is suffering from dementia and the other is recovering from major surgery therefore their needs are quite different. Both however are very well catered for.

We have been most impressed by the kind and patient care my parents received from all the nursing staff at Oaken Holt since they were admitted in May 2012. My father died in the autumn of 2012 (aged 97), but my mother (94) still benefits from the nursing and other activities offered by Oaken Hall.

I have been really impressed by the care, love, professionalism, tact, concern and resourcefulness shown towards my mother, during her 10 months at Oaken Holt. I found the staff easy to talk to, open, honest and kind. I felt that I was involved at all stages and was party to all the decisions concerning my mothers changing care needs. I am also so grateful for the wonderful programme of activities, fantastic. So lovely to attend functions or concerts with my mum and to be welcomed by the staff. Thank you.

I have nothing but high level praise for Oaken Holt. The staff are amazing, both efficient and caring. I visit at different times and at no time have I seen any of the residents being treated with anything but total respect. The food is superb with a wide ranging menu and an excellent head chef. Since his time at Oaken Holt (1 year) the improvement in my father is amazing and that is due to the excellent care and attention he receives!

The standard of care and commitment over the long term. Attention to detail. It never smells, always clean, if ever anything slips at all it seems to be dealt with. Good food. Welcoming, it is the residents home and we are welcome. Staff always speak English even amongst themselves. Good activity programme. When there was a blip due to a staff change they jumped on it. Recommend wholeheartedly.

I recommend this care home to anybody. The home has done a wonderful job with my father. He is having so much care, he is relaxed and I can see he is very happy there. The food is lovely, my father enjoys every bit of it. The home itself reminds me of a hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The home sends me information when anything happens.

Oaken Holt is like a 5 star hotel. Clean, well run by the staff on site, caring for the resident. It has the advantage of a good medical wing for those who become in need of such care.

The excellent team of nurses and carers. The cleanliness and the attention to duties. The rooms are very good and always kept warm. The food is as good as a 5 star hotel. The grounds are unforgettable and all the staff so helpful. All the residents are treated like the individuals they are. I can honestly say that I could not fault a single aspect there.

The care staff are without exception dedicated, gentle, caring and always prepared to go the extra mile even at busy times. The leadership of the home is professional and approachable to relatives, from nurses and management. Activities in the home are person centred and varied, activity staff take great joy and pride in leading them. 'Feels like a great team'.

Fantastic home set in the most beautiful grounds. Care staff genuinely care and you really feel that my mother is the most important person at the home. Went through a period of unrest and lost some good staff under the previous manager but the new management structure that has been put in place has breathed new life into the home and it is a pleasure to visit and spend time with the staff and residents. The new activities co-ordinator is absolutely brilliant!! Oh so is the food; 5 star hotel standard.
