LOCATION Set in idyllic riverside grounds, Abbey Chase offers the ultimate in Residential and Nursing care within the luxury of a quiet country retreat with tranquil landscaped grounds, numerous gardens and riverside walks. Just a short distance from the home is Chertsey Town with its comprehensive shopping facilities. The M25 is minutes away providing excellent road communication. Chertsey has a rail link with the mainline station at nearby Weybridge. ACCOMMODATION Abbey Chase, being a dual residential home, caters for forty four* residents in total, including the active elderly. It offers first-class accommodation with every modern convenience. The pleasant centrally heated single and shared rooms have excellent views of the grounds and surrounding countryside. Some bedrooms have en-suite bathroom providing private facilities. The highest standards of personal dignity are maintained at all times. Each room is fitted with a private telephone and television point. For those who enjoy company there are two lounges, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor, with a large television and of course a lift service between floors. A wide choice of delicious meals are on offer to residents and special dietary requirements are catered for. * Residents: -Medical, Post-Operative, Convalescents, Terminally ill and Geriatric Residents. STAFF Abbey Chase offers the highest standards in conscientious staff with a caring attitude. A personal friendly atmosphere between staff and residents is promoted at all times. Personal care involves a sensitive response to physical and emotional needs whenever required, 24 hours a day. The Nurses and care staff at Abbey Chase have all the necessary nursing qualifications and caring experience required to ensure that our residents are happy, comfortable and content in their retirement. ACTIVITIES We offer outdoor pursuits including: Private angling, numerous gardens & rockeries for the horticulturists. Staff are also encouraged to promote activities for the less ambulent resident within the home. These indoor pursuits would include hobbies and residents' own personal interests. There is of course a library and reading room containing a large selection of books. SERVICES Health professionals including the doctor, dentist and physiotherapist make regular visits. Appointments can be arranged with opticians, audiologists, chiropodists as required. Hairdressers visit the home on a regular basis. Visits by clergy of all denominations are also arranged. Transport can be arranged for mobile residents to visit local churches. MONEY AND VALUABLES In the interest of security it is discouraged for residents to bring large amounts of money or valuables into the home. Any items of value brought in by the resident or the residents family must be covered by the resident/residents family's insurance. A safe within the main office is available at the home.although this is used for small cash transactions only. Cheques may be cashed at the home. FEES The charges for accomodation vary according to the particular needs or requirements of individual residents i.e. different categories of care required, single or shared and/or en-suite rooms. Please refer to the 'Scale of Fees' leaflet. All fees are payable in advance and on the 1st of every month. One month's written notice is required for termination or change in agreement. The fees charged are fully inclusive and although a personal laundry service is included, dry cleaning, Professional services i.e. chiropody, hairdressing, taxis and personal telephones are not. Daily newspapers, magazines and periodicals may be ordered but will be charged to the resident's account as with cigarettes, toiletries, stationery and other personal requisites. TEMPORARY VACATIONS Residents are quite at liberty to spend periods of time away from Abbey Chase with family and friends providing Matron is informed. VISITING Visitors are encouraged with the exception of meal times, although luncheon with a resident can be arranged for visitors if required.
