Coppice Lea Care Home with Nursing is conveniently situated near the M25, and the towns of Reigate and Redhill, Coppice Lea is close to the attractive villages of Merstham and Bletchingly. London is just half an hour away by train Coppice Lea is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide both short and long term care to elderly people who require residential or nursing care.
Coppice Lea is situated beneath the Surrey Downs and is set in five acres of landscaped and wooded grounds.
This Victorian house was originally built in the 1880’s and has been beautifully refurbished and extended to provide fifty nursing beds.
All bedrooms are of a pleasant size and afford splendid rural views, they have attractive en-suite facilities, colour television and direct dial telephones. All bedrooms are equipped with the latest nurse call system.
Our experienced and qualified care and nursing team deliver care through individualised care plans which are designed in consultation with the individual resident, their family / advocates and a senior member of our nursing team. Care plans are regularly reviewed to ensure that they remain appropriate to a resident throughout their stay with us, ensuring they are adjusted through a person’s changing needs.
Life at Coppice Lea is varied and interesting; we have a dedicated Activities Coordinator who ensures that there is a wide range of activities available. Visits to local places of interest are regularly organised. Speakers are invited to give talks on a variety of topics. Bridge is popular, and residents are encouraged to partake in both craft activities and for those who are “green fingered” gardening is always an option.
Food is an important part of daily life. Residents may select from a varied and quality menu, the daily three-course luncheon always includes a wide selection of home made desserts. Special diets are also catered for. Residents may enjoy morning coffee and afternoon tea in one of our three lounges, the garden or on the attractive terrace.

Mother was transferred from East Surrey Hospital to Coppice Lea for palliative care as she had cancer. The staff were all excellent and gave her such extra special care. Words cannot describe how grateful all the family are.

My mother was at Coppice Lea for 2 years, I cannot fault the care she was given. She was allowed to have some of her own furniture so it was nice that her room contained familiar things. Care was taken in dressing her in matching clothes. Her room was cleaned regularly. She had special dietary needs that were discussed with chef which helped her to manage nourishing foods. Although there is a beautiful dining room, she chose to eat meals in her room and was never put under pressure to join others there. There's always entertainment, activities and trips out. My mother just loved being in the garden!

I recommend this care because the carers are really friendly and caring to residents in the home. The carers are also very helpful when you visit a resident in the home. The kitchen staff are also very helpful as well, they cater for the residents needs, if your relative needs certain foods they can order it in for them. The nurse that is on duty on each day/night is also very friendly and helpful.

Coppice Lea is a very friendly home. Decor very pleasing. Laundry and cleanliness very good. The nursing care is excellent, on arriving my mother had a huge bed sore, after one year of constant care and attention her skin returned to normal. Her 3 1/2 years at Coppice Lea have been very happy, a lovely place to end her years.

I was received into the care home easily by the staff and management with good grace and care. My room is kept clean and tidy, towels changed daily, bed linen also changed on a daily basis. Shower room and toilet excellent. Food because of my condition I cannot eat hard things, so my food has to be on the soft side, this the staff see to. Press the red button, someone comes in 3 minutes. Excellent house and all the staff.

Our father has dementia and complex medical needs and we have been impressed with the high standards of care he has received from all the staff. A very caring nursing home and an excellent nursing team, especially Daisy and Agges who worked so hard to improve on my father's failing health, in a few short weeks he was at Coppice Lea. If there was a problem we needed to know about we were always contacted promptly. They were also very caring and understanding to us when we were sad and down about our father.

Nawakkie seems to understand about Alzheimer's and dementia and how to treat the residents, in order to keep them calm and less worried or anxious. The nurses and carers in the home take over all the responsibilities, so there is nothing for the residents to worry about.

Nurses and carers are excellent. Staff very attentive and have a thorough knowledge of my mother's needs. The nursing staff are always available and give the details of my mother's health, and the room is kept clean and tidy. The carers dress and clean my mother to high standards and everyone has a friendly attitude. The manager listens to me and sorts out issues promptly.
