Cranmer Court is located within a conservation area, on the edge of the village of Farleigh and is in close proximity to both the delightful village of Warlingham and extensive facilities of the London Borough of Croydon. Who we care for Cranmer Court is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection to provide dedicated nursing and personal care to 56 elderly people. Tailored care packages can be developed on either a short-term or long-term care basis. General Description Cranmer Court is a prestigious purpose built nursing home specialising in care of the elderly and offering specific facilities for sensory impairment, physical disability and terminal care. Cranmer Court was designed by a highly experienced team of professionals, with an in-depth understanding of the needs of elderly people. Cranmer Court is constructed from a mellow brick, which complements the home’s location and surroundings. Romeo & Juliet balconies on the first floor and patio doors leading out onto terraces with patio gardens on the ground floor further enhance the attractive façade. The home stands in large attractive landscaped gardens with sheltered patios with seating, which can be enjoyed throughout the summer months, and large areas of level lawns enabling even our most frail residents to make full use of the garden. The accommodation provided at Cranmer Court offers exceptional choice in both communal and personal living space. The oak panelled reception area is located central to the building and provides concierge services to our residents. Our elegant dining room is a favourite venue for mealtimes, and enjoys attractive outlooks across the beautiful gardens surrounding the home. Whilst most of our residents enjoy the social aspect of mealtimes some prefer the privacy of their own room where we are happy to serve meals. We also have two drawing rooms located on the ground and first floors respectively. These attractive day rooms are bright and spacious providing an exceptional environment in which to socialise and enjoy both the day’s events and the seasonal changes. The location of these drawing rooms assures attractive views across the gardens and open countryside. The home is particularly proud of its spacious dedicated activities/hobbies room complete with resident’s kitchen area, internet-zone and areas for craftwork. This facilitates a wide range of varied and meaningful activities and hobbies, which are planned by our activities co-ordinator in conjunction with our residents. Cranmer Court offers 56 single en-suite rooms located on two floors, all decorated and furnished to a luxury specification. We have hand picked a range of attractive schemes in keeping with communal areas, whilst maintaining a level of individuality. Each bedroom comes furnished with a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, writing table and chair as standard but residents are encouraged to bring in small items of furniture and personal possessions to ease the transition of moving into a care home, and to further individualise their rooms. All bedrooms also provide a television with DVD facility so that residents can watch films from our DVD library in the privacy of their own room, or alternatively there is a large plasma television with cinema surround sound in our day rooms where residents can enjoy large screenings of their favourite movie. We pride ourselves in being able to provide both short and long term care packages, which are designed around meeting the individual needs of each resident. Following a detailed pre-admission assessment by our experienced nurses and consultation with the resident’s family, a tailored set of care plans are developed to address and meet our resident’s individual needs which are closely monitored by a Named Nurse or Key Worker and adjusted as their needs change, ensuring that care remains appropriate throughout their stay. Cranmer Court provides exceptional resources that facilitate and support each of our residents to remain as independent as possible. These include a "Nurse Call" system which is fitted throughout the building, dedicated nurse stations to ensure a nurse is always on hand throughout the day, assisted bathing facilities, automatic lighting in communal bathrooms, induction loop hearing systems in all communal areas, large pad telephones and amplifiers in all bedrooms and passenger lifts with communication software. Life at Cranmer Court offers variety and promotes independence! Our holistic care planning process addresses not only a (person) individual’s clinical needs but their occupational, religious and social wellbeing. We place a strong focus on meeting these needs as our belief is that health and wellbeing are linked to stimulation and enjoyment in daily life. We have invested in the development of a dedicated activities suite including a kitchen area, where residents can take part in cookery sessions, an IT zone where residents area able to maintain contact with family and friends through email and the internet and an activity and hobby area for residents to continue with their existing hobbies and learn new ones. Our activities are organised and supported by our dedicated activities staff. Resident’s preferences and interests are taken into account to ensure that weekly activities and programmes are of interest to all.
