Waverley Grange offers round-the-clock expert care for people who require nursing, residential or respite care.

The purpose-built home has been attractively decorated and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Comfortable lounges, a cinema room and café-bar provides residents with places to socialise and relax, and the secure landscaped gardens include sculptures, sun dials and an attractive water feature.

Trained chefs prepare and serve a range of nutritious home-cooked meals, with hot and cold options always available.

A dedicated activity suite is used to for a full programme of daytime individual and group activities. Residents are also encouraged to help out with an allotment and raised flower beds, if they wish.

I have written 'poor' for my Mother's room. When she first arrived at WG, her room was clean, bright and spacious. We were happy this was to be her home. Too often now it is cluttered with clothes not put away (not always even her own), her magazines incl TV, are out of reach. Her buzzer is often not with her. Empty cups of water, tea etc on the trolley, medical notes on the bed, debris on the bathroom floor.

Staff are usually really lovely but often rushed and busy - not enough of them?
Poor communication between staff and between staff and relatives.
We feel general standards have deteriorated over the last year.
Value for money ? We have no idea as we have no experience of other Care Homes.

The care which is being given to my aunt is of an exemplary standard. Although very much compos mentis, she is bedridden in extreme old age with arthritis and can do very little for herself, but she is kept comfortable and clean. Her hair, nails and clothes are well-tended, and the nursing staff keep a close eye on her health requirements.

My aunt enjoys having a choice of menu each day, together with a glass of sherry at lunchtime! She retains a keen sense of humour which is usually directed at the nursing and care staff, and they react well to her teasing. They seem to enjoy her company and often pop into her room to pass some moments in her company.

The administrative staff at Waverley Grange are friendly and approachable and on the occasion of my aunt's 100th birthday in December 2015, they arranged for a splendid buffet lunch to be served in her bedroom to family members who came to celebrate the memorable occasion with her.

My mother-in-law is very happy at Waverley Grange. The staff are all very caring and look after her as if she was their own relative. The facilities are clean and modern. And the services and activities are efficient and well thought through.

The building and facilities are up to date albeit that visitor car parking can sometimes be insufficient. The environment is good and the staff are friendly, welcoming and communicative and appear to make every effort to ensure the comfort and safety of the residents.

The facilities on offer at Waverley Grange are very good and utilised in conjunction with a varied entertainment programme on a daily basis. We have experienced service from both floors and the level of care and compassion shown is good. There have been occasions where it is obvious they have been short staffed, particularly at meal times.
General cleanliness of the premises is good and maintenance is to a high standard.
The two resident cats contribute to a homely feel.
Staff are caring and patient and knowledgeable about the resident's welfare.

Superb care home that fully supports and assists with my mum's needs.

Having personally cared for mum for 20 years, it was an extremely difficult decision to put her into a care home but, having visited Waverley Grange, I knew this was somewhere that would care for her as I had previously done. It was extremely hard to relinquish that responsibility.

Mum has now lived there for 3 years and I can honestly say this was the best decision I have ever made. Mum is extremely happy and content and exceptionally cared for.

It is lovely to just be her daughter once again, rather than her carer.

My mother has now been at Waverley Grange for 18 months. Everyone there is incredibly caring and helpful. It does not matter what someone's role is at the home, whether it be managerial, caring, nursing, catering, decorating - they will always find time to drop into my mother and wish her well.
The home is maintained to an excellent standard and resembles a very good hotel.

Whenever my mother has had any health issues that needed to be resolved, these were dealt with immediately.

I could not imagine her being better off anywhere else.

Waverley Grange care home is excellent! I cannot praise it enough. My friend's mother sadly needed respite care at short notice and was very lucky to get a place. The staff were excellent. They went above and beyond doing everything possible to care for my friend's mother, daughter and family when they visited. Her daughter was with her daily as she sadly deteriorated over a few weeks and died in July 2016. The nurses and staff provided wonderful support physically and emotionally. They were all brilliant. They cared for my friend's mother as if she were one of their own family. It is clean modern and homely. We looked at other homes but this was the best. We knew from the start when manageress stayed late one Friday evening to show us round. She could have put us off but did not because she cares. She cares about people and loves to help them. All the staff were like this including the nurse, and the male nursing/care assistants.

My mother has been a resident in the nursing area since Sept 2015. She came in a very poorly, undernourished, scared lady having had 3 months in hospital with cancer and complications. She is unrecognizable now - she is eating healthy food and lots of it. She has responded to careful caring nursing, she is happy due to the staff who are excellent and now takes part in weekly activities. The team are to be thanked for their tireless effort to care, above the call of duty.

I stayed at Waverley Grange for two weeks for respite care/convalescence following surgery. The staff were very willing and I felt that no request was too much trouble. I did sometimes feel that nights were understaffed.

My mother died on the 30th April in Essex. After her death my father needed care and we move him from Essex to be near the family in Surrey. Waverley Grange staff have been so welcoming and supportive throughout this difficult time, they offered to help with the wake at Waverley Grange and provided a lounge for our use and great food and drinks. The day went very well and a huge thanks goes to the staff that cared for our whole family and especially dad on that day.

My husband was discharged from the hospice (Phyllis Tuckwell) to Waverley Grange at the end of last year. He died there on Feb 9th. During this time he received loving and caring help and I am more than satisfied with them. I am so thankful that he died in such a kindly peaceful place and I couldn't have wished for more. As to me I was treated just the same as he was, with love and understanding all the way through. I still go to see them, and am made to feel one of the family.

The care of my Nan

I am very grateful of the care that my Nan received whilst staying at Waverley Grange. The staff were very nice and the room/ surrounding made my Nans last 6 weeks as comfortable as I could have hoped for. I would highly recommend this nursing home to others, particularly having heard about the alternative places that were not at all appealing. I would like to say thank you to all the staff involved in looking after my Nan x

Mum was transferred five weeks ago. She suffered with pancreatic cancer since April 2014 because mum wasn't deemed to be deteriorating quickly we were asked to search for a care home. We were given three to view. All three we felt were unsuitable and we felt sad that this was what elderly people had to look forward too. Then we looked at Waverley Grange wow what a difference. A complete no brainer! Mum was said to leave the hospice as this made her feel safe, she had been a volunteer there for several years so knew many people, reluctantly she was transferred. We love it, the environment is amazing and the staff care for residents is second to none. Thank you, you have all been amazing, this place has made us all so helpful in such sad circumstances, we have felt so very welcome.

Mum has been terminally ill for some considerable time and in January was re-admitted to the hospital. Sadly, she was not able to stay there. We were given several homes to look at, and were baffled by what we saw. By chance I saw Waverley as I left the hospital and it looked so modern and inviting. I called the next morning, my sisters and I visited that day and plans were soon in place to move mum. We have been so warmly welcomed, mum has a beautiful sunny room, the whole building is like a 5* star hotel, but more than that the staff are amazing.The nursing staff are caring, thorough and truly professional. My only regret is we did not find it sooner!
