The Review Score of 9.428 for Queen Elizabeth Park Private Care Home is based on 23 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.831 for Queen Elizabeth Park Private Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (206 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 248 Ratings = 4.831

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.597 for Queen Elizabeth Park Private Care Home is calculated as follows:

      1. 23 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 23 Positive Reviews = 2.300 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (23 Positive Reviews ÷ 77 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.597

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). My wife has been wonderfully well cared for throughout the two and a half years she has been here and the staff and carers have all been friendly. Polite and helpful to me, answering any questions I have quickly and efficiently.

On entering the home there is a warm, friendly and welcoming experience. Our whole family were very impressed with the warm and loving and caring attitude to both my husband and us. Nothing was too much trouble. In spite of the work being very hard and tiring, the staff are very cheerful to both the residents and their family. There are not enough words to express how much it meant to us during a very painful time, the love and care we received.

Our father was admitted to first floor and Queen Elizabeth Park, in December after six weeks in Hospital. He was only there for a month but was kept comfortable and pain free, he looked very much at ease and peaceful. We would like to thank all the first floor staff for their care and compassion in making dad's last days to tranquil.

Although my mother was only at the care home for her last 2 months, the care received was excellent. The end of life care was dignified and compassionate.
All the staff, employed in whichever capacity, are a credit to the care home.

My mum was a resident on the 2nd floor of Queen Elizabeth. This is a secure floor for the residents own well being. The staff are kind, caring supportive, they understand the complex needs of dementia. They always treated mum with respect and kindness, they made sure all her needs were met and offered reassurance when she was confused. They also offered support for the family and always kept us informed.

My mother was a resident from March 2014 until her death in February 2015. She was very happy and content as she was surrounded by caring and supportive staff who were interested in her. In all the time she was there, there was never anything other than animated and smiling. I think her naughty sense of humour helped as she liked to engage with people and was certainly encouraged to do so. We visited most days and were welcomed as part of a large family which is now QEP run. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in, and we still enjoy visiting even though mum is not there.

All the staff at all levels were caring, respectful and calm. The home itself is always very clean and tidy. It didn't smell at all. The home always ran smoothly. Requests from my father or myself were dealt with promptly and efficiently. There are plenty of activities for residents to participate in and a very comfortable cinema room for residents to use at any time.

Having become very frail and in need of constant care and attention my mother was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Park in January 2015. She settled in reasonably well was well fed, warm and comfortable. She went on a few outings before it became impossible to go out. The staff were kind and caring and the communal rooms are clean, airy and attractive. Activities took place regularly. I had almost complete peace of mind about her well being and would be happy to recommend Queen Elizabeth Park as a suitable place to stay.

My mother entered the home with terminal cancer and only 3 months to live. All the staff made her and our family welcome and she soon settled in, enjoying getting to know the friendly staff. After her 90th birthday, mum went into rapid decline and relied on pain relief and help with personal care. Nothing was too much trouble for the nursing staff, always caring and not complaining. Mum passed away on 1st July in the company of 2 staff looking after her.

My mother required 24/7 care (she was disabled and unable to use her right hand for feeding/injections - diabetic) over the last year of her life, and that is exactly what she received at the above home. So many staff on duty all of the time, plus constant feedback from nurse(s)/doctor etc. Trips/activities in abundance. Lovely gardens in the summer months. All staff and management always helpful and friendly.

My sister Barbara Hayden was taken to hospital because of an infection that was not seen by her previous care home and the visiting doctor failed to prescribe medication. Due to this situation I felt my sister should move to another care home, and after many visits to different care homes we chose Queen Elizabeth Park. Unfortunately, my sister only survived 2 weeks, but during this time QEP looked after and nursed her, and the staff were very caring to her and to us. Therefore, it was only a short period - but I would like to recommend QEP.

My brother was treated with extreme kindness and respect after a difficult time in hospital. The nursing care was faultless. All staff were considerate and helpful to both my brother and his visitors, we were very impressed by their care, concern, and knowledge. All staff went that extra mile for my brother and all his visitors. I cannot put into words how grateful we are.

During my mothers time at Q.E. myself and family members spent a great deal of time with mum. On every occasion we were made to feel very welcome, that we felt we were part of their family. The level of care was outstanding and nothing was ever too much trouble. I will never forget the laughter and friendship that you all gave to my mum right up until she got her angel wings.

The care that my mother received was outstanding. She spent two weeks respite on the nursing floor. Everyone she came into contact with had time to give my mother such wonderful attention. Nothing was too much trouble. So much so she didn't want to leave!! and for someone that feared going into a care home we found it amazing. Facilities that were there were brilliant.

My husband was a resident at Queen Elizabeth Park for 1 year and 8 months. He died on 16 May age 101. From the beginning I knew he was in the right place. While I awaited his arrival from the hospital, staff members introduced themselves and had a chat. He was always treated with patience and courtesy. At all times the staff achieved what they aimed for, to keep him comfortable, clean and free of pain. I was always treated as one of a family. I cannot praise the staff enough.

My Dad has been a resident for 2 months having been in hospital previously for 7 months with a brain tumour. The manager and staff are so welcoming, friendly, always make time to talk to us and want to make us all feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble. The activities put on for the residents are fantastic and ensure that the residents do not get bored. He has improved so much that we are now planning his discharge. This would not have been possible without the care, encouragement and determination of the staff. The staff in charge are so professional, helpful and positive. We looked at many care homes and can not recommend this one enough, it was definitely the right choice. We would be very happy for my dad to return if and when the time is appropriate again.

My husband who is 77 was transferred to this care home from Woking Rehabilitation Unit after having had a brain tumour removed 9 months ago in St Georges Hospital. We looked at 12 care homes in the area and this was the only one we deemed suitable for a man of his age. He is very happy and the home is so welcoming and kind to both him and us. We hope to have him home in the not too distant future. I would highly recommend this home to people.
