Review of The Red House

Prior to my husbands two month stay in hospital. He had been living in a purpose built care home but needed nursing care on discharge from hospital so was obliged to move. I was critically uneasy about placing him in a home converted from a large private house but I am now quite happy about the adequacy of the accommodation's facilities. In the two months he has been in the Red House his general condition in spite of Alzheimer's & Parkinsons disease, has improved. He has put on weight, is happy, well known & understood by all the staff and I am always welcome & kept informed of his condition.

Review of The Red House

The Red House has proved to be the perfect haven for my mother who is no longer able to live independently. Her room is well equipped and comfortable and she has some of her own furniture and belongings that make her feel 'at home' and comfortable. The food is freshly prepared with due regard to each individuals needs and dietary requirements. The dining room always has clean linen and fresh flowers on every table. It is large enough for wheelchairs to be placed at tables for easy access. The lounge and conservatory are bright and overlook the garden which reminds Mum of the garden she always tended. The chairs in the lounge are positioned so there can be interaction between the residents. The activities keep them upto date with daily events and also gentle physical games that are so important to sedentary elderly people. The greatest strength of the Red House is the high quality of the nursing and care staff. The staff training and support they show for each other result in excellent care and all round provision for the people in their charge. I visit daily and always feel welcome and know that if there is any problem with my mother I will be kept informed and that the most appropriate action will be taken. It is rewarding to know that mother is in such good hands in an atmosphere of love and care. Thank you Red House for all you are doing.

Review of The Red House

We have been involved with the Red house for more than two years now. Occasionally we have had to speak to staff to remind them about the care our Mum needs, but they are always cheerfully responsive and the problems get solved. We would highly recommend the Red House to anyone seeking care for an elderly or infirm relative. It is a safe and secure environment where people are friendly and happy. We can pop in anytime and are welcomed. The activities on offer help to provide mental, physical and spiritual stimulation and give the opportunity to participate or withdraw as required. The administration is well and thoughtfully done and the nursing care appreciated by the residents.

Review of The Red House

Both my parents are residents at the Red House -- the staff are friendly & helpful to both my parents & to those who visit them. The staff listen to our concerns & help where possible. When my father had to go into hospital a member of the staff went with him & stayed until I arrived at the hospital so he didn't feel alone. The glass of sherry goes down well each lunch time & both my parents enjoy the meals.
