Claydon House Care with Nursing is an elegant Victorian property which has been refurbished to the highest standards. With delightful cottage gardens, it is quietly situated in one of the most sought after residential areas of Lewes. The home provides excellent residential, nursing and dementia care for older people. It is proud that it has the ability to provide a more seamless service based on the changing and ongoing needs of those within our care.
Claydon House is ideally located in a peaceful no through road close to the centre of Lewes. While enjoying this tranquil setting, the home is also conveniently placed for easy access to local amenities, shops and public transport. Our aim is to provide an attractive and restful environment for residents and visitors alike, so that they can enjoy a high quality of life based upon dignity, privacy and independence.
Benefiting from its classical Victorian heritage, the home has been sympathetically extended and converted to retain many original features. At the same time, it is equipped with facilities to ensure a high standard of comfort and care. Admiralty, an extension to the rear of the main property, is a new part of the home which has been purposely designed to assist our residents with dementia. It offers a stimulating and individualised approach to care and is accessible from the Claydon House main entrance on Wallands Crescent.

The very caring helpful, cheerful attitude of staff. Management are extremely helpful and very supportive with any problems that relatives may have. A very high standard of cleanliness and an excellent variety of food. An excellent activities co-ordinator.

I was very appreciative of the kindness and help provided to me and my mother when I urgently needed to find an immediate respite home for her on her husband being taken into hospital for a lenghty stay. My particular thanks to management staff and senior carers.

Ann and Theresa are excellent on The Admiralty wing and a special mention for Beryl, Frances, Angie and Emma on the night staff. Staff are attentive and responsive, kind and caring in difficult circumstances.
