The Review Score of 9.117 for Country Lodge Nursing Home is based on 8 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.621 for Country Lodge Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.621

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.496 for Country Lodge Nursing Home is calculated as follows:

      1. 8 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 8 Positive Reviews = 0.800

      3. (8 Positive Reviews ÷ 23 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.696

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). Cleanliness is clearly paramount and one is always greeted with a clean fresh smell with not a hint of disinfectant, air freshener or the dreadful hospital smell. My father's room was always clean and cosy.
My father thoroughly enjoyed the flavoursome, freshly cooked meals and afternoon tea and cake.
My father had a plethora of medical problems. The nurses were incredibly efficient, as well as compassionate. I was confident my father was regularly monitored and concerns addressed immediately.
Staff treated my father with dignity and respect and were empathetic to the challenges his illness presented him. They cared patiently for his physical needs, showed him kindness when he felt low, made him laugh and humoured him when he was being grumpy.
My father passed away in January however the care he received meant he spent the last months of his life feeling safe, happy and relaxed knowing he was surrounded by good people who had his best interests at heart and genuinely cared.

I and my siblings are very impressed with the care that our aunt is receiving at Country Lodge Nursing Home, she was very poorly when she first arrived however little by little we have seen an improvement in Aunties health, she is far more comfortable and out of pain, she is always clean and tidy and appears to be relaxed. I have visited various Homes over the years and very often there is an unpleasant smell or air fresheners are used to mask these odours, here it just smells clean. The staff are caring and put the patient first, which is just as it should be, if they are tending to our aunts personal needs when we arrive we have to wait outside the room until they have finished, thereby safeguarding her dignity.

I would definitely recommend this Nursing Home without hesitation.

Having looked at the other reviews, I must agree with many, as that is my view now having my mother staying there. She has only been there for just over 4 weeks. I know she is happy there and because of her age that really does count. The staff do their best all the time, and sometimes make my mother laugh, which she hasn't done much of for a while. I'm glad to be able to put my and mother's views forward.

Mum has enjoyed the best care and attention since commencing her stay 12 months ago . She receives excellent medical and caring support. Although initially reluctant to leave her home, she now says that she regards Country Lodge as her home. She says she feels "safe" and that she never feels lonely because she has a constant stream of visitors in the form of the carers. She was delighted that they produced a birthday cake and helped her celebrate her 91 st birthday recently. I sleep a lot easier knowing she is happy and so well cared for .

Mum moved to Country Lodge as she was unable to live at home. She has settled in well at Country Lodge and we have no worries that she is well cared for and happy in a safe and secure environment. The staff treat her as one of the family and she has improved considerably since her admission.

Superb Care Home

My Step Father was only at Countrylode for a short period. Really pleased we chose this home as when you look at various options you don't know exactly what care they will provide.

Really pleased with atmosphere and bright surroundings. The care provided was superb and staff really cared which was very moving.

I cannot praise the staff higher enough with their passion and willingness to guage with residents and visitors.

This is a delightful, joyous sort of place. It is rare to find somewhere that exudes friendliness and happiness and a genuine spirit of kindly consideration towards all the residents, as this does. My wife Jennie has stayed for several 3 week spells of 'respite, so that I can get a break away without worrying about whether Jennie is being properly cared for. I am her full time carer and she is very dependent on quality care, as she is wheel chair bound, unable to speak even, needs feeding, personal care etc etc.
