      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

      1. 3 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 3 Positive Reviews = 0.300

The Overall Average of all the Ratings in the following

My mother entered Westhampnett House about five years ago, following about two years residence in another care home in the area as she now requires more nursing care. She is now 93, and although the home has passed from family to commercial ownership during that time, I cannot fault the standard and continuity of care. The rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean, the food good and suitable for elderly people, while the staff some of whom have worked there for many years are unfailingly kind and caring. If there is any medical problems I am contacted right away, the GP called promptly if necessary and if anything were to happen in my absence I know the situation would be properly dealt with.

My partner was now needing palliative care. It was an urgent need. Dealing with the situation alone I was anxious and concerned about the whereabouts and the care that he would receive in a Nursing home requiring very particular attention to a medical condition needing very careful monitoring and recording. All of this, my partner is receiving.

I visited several homes and guided by instinct I knew immediately it was the right place for my partner. Apart from the beautiful gardens on entering the home for the first time I found it to be a very harmonious, homely atmosphere. There is also a real sense of friendly teamwork among all the staff which filtrates through to the patient, love and care they give to those they look after and a welcome too for the person visiting (me).

All this I believe the manager has helped to create, who has a very balanced, approachable, aloof of role, hands on style of management who personally cares about those he has in his care and gets things done. I like this. My partner and myself too have benefited from this.

I have only been able to commend on the short time that my partner has been at Westhampnett House but I have been visiting every day and each day has been the same. It is really care requiring a lot of thanks.

This place has a very good atmosphere. The home is situated in a beautiful part of Sussex. The house is very attractive from the outside, and occupies a lovely position in a beautiful garden where residents can walk, or sit outside. Inside, this grand house has been adapted to provide for some 30 residents, in rooms of varying sizes with different facilities. The manager does an excellent job; the nurses are well-qualified, helpful, and kind; the carers also. It is obvious, from the way the staff treat each other, that the team is well bonded and there is genuine friendship between its members. The food is good (cooked on site) - there are a few choices for each meal. Activities and entertainments are arranged. Residents are treated as individuals, well looked after, clean, and respected. Visiting arrangements are good, in that we are welcome all the time.
