Review of Oak Manor Nursing Home

Mum came to Oak Manor in October last year, they made my mum feel really welcome and at home straight away. They have a wonderful team here they are all so friendly, kind and supportive to. There care for mum is excellent and nothing is to much trouble. he choice of food offers a good variety and is well prepared and presented. A wonderful maintenance man is also readily available to assist us with any DIY requests for mums room. They also have a fantastic music afternoon where mum is encouraged to sing along.

Review of Oak Manor Nursing Home

On first entering Oak Manor, one is impressed by the organization at reception level and the ongoing schedules which are provided for residents who are encouraged to participate in as many activities as each individual is able to achieve. Also, the activities are graded up or down to each individual residents abilities and/or interest. It is comforting to watch residents petting and stroking animals on those days when they are provided; and a change comes over them as they relate to an individual rabbit, guinea pig or whatever. The administration and staff are evidently constantly aware of the needs of each individual resident during the day and night and give attention whenever it is needed.

Review of Oak Manor Nursing Home

The home has a variety of rooms for different experiences. Residents are allowed freedom to wander within the home and personal rooms are locked to keep other residents from going in during the day. There is a garden and a resident dog, cat and small animals. The staff are interested in the residents and spend time with them rather than ignoring them like some places.

Our Family so happy Mother is here, lovely, smiling, helpful staff. Residents and visitors all feel part of the family. Entertainment Thursday wonderful; many residents are given simple instruments to play (tambourines, etc), and singing often awakens memories.
