For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.291 for Aldringham Court is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (60 Goods x 4) + (20 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 141 Ratings = 4.291

If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered beds has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Aldringham Court is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

My husband moved to Aldringham Court in April 2016 from another nursing home. I am very happy with the care he is receiving and I appreciate the caring attitude towards me too. He is calm and relaxed, well groomed, clean and dressed. He has many nursing needs and these are well addressed. There is a happy atmosphere at Aldringham Court the staff greet me and talk to me and are kind to the patients. The manager is friendly and approachable and efficient.

I came here from hospital for convalescence prior to going home. I was initially unhappy about not being able to be discharged home. After settling in for two days I realised how lovely it is here. My view from the window is wonderful. The staff always cheerful and helpful my choices respected. If I has to move to a home permanently Aldringham would be it.

I was reluctant for my husband to go from hospital into a nursing home, but needs must. I realised he needed more care than he could have at home, even with 2 agency carers, 4 times daily and myself on hand all the time. My son and I went just to look at Aldringham Court. We really scrutinised the place. We were not only satisfied with what we saw but knew this was it. It proved to be very homely, welcoming, well trained and kind staff. He had a very pleasant room of his own, also near the nursing station. I spent time with him every day from morning until night. He was always kept clean, shaved and dressed like I wanted him to be. I have no hesitation in recommending this home from home.

I have been caring for my friend for over six years with many changes, re management, staffing and the home being extended. My friend loves her room and is content to enjoy her own company despite many opportunities to associate with residents and staff. I had considered moving her to a different home at one stage, but can honestly say I am glad I didn't. This was due to the very kind help and understanding received from management at that time, who met all the needs that was very unhappy about at that point. Having had so many managers almost seven years (of all characters), I am so pleased with our current manager, from day one I really feel included, from my observations, the home is again the friendly caring and happy home it used to be. The carers are brilliant.

Residents appear to be well cared for, in my cousins case she always smiles broadly and when staff appear. She is unable to communicate but seems very comfortable and happy.

Lovely staff, good management. They try very hard to get it right. My mother, then aged 92 and dying, 18 months on and almost 94 has learned to walk with a frame and is able to enjoy some quality of life again!

I have been very happy with the care my mother has received. She did not wish to move into a care home but the memory clinic in Kent insisted.
She settled in much quicker than expected, and as she can be quite difficult I admire the way the staff are gentle and persuade her to do things - like baths etc.
The staff have got used to her and always treat her with respect. I am very grateful for the fact that she is very safe and cared for.

As a family, we were very concerned with how our very independent 92 years young, frail and forgetful Mum would settle at Aldringham Court.Mum has been there six months, and we have nothing but praise for the kind, patient and caring Staff, who have looked after her. Also the equally kind and approachable new Manager. They have made this transition, for our Mum. as painless as possible, treating her with dignity and respect. Any questions we have, about Mum's health and wellbeing, are answered courteously.
The Home is clean, bright and welcoming.Dining areas are also laid out attractively and Mum eats well.
It is comforting for Mum that she can have her own belongings round her, in her room, and enjoy some quiet time if she needs it. Also that she can socialise when she feels able, in the lounge.
Visitors are welcome any time, and this has helped us manage a visit from famliy members most days, even though some live a distance away.
Our peace of mind is beyond price.

Dad made Aldringham Court his home a few months ago and settled in very quickly with the help of all the staff. The carers are compassionate, the nurses experienced and professional and the kitchen staff have helped dad enjoy his puréed food again with a colourful and varied diet. The Manager and her team make Aldringham Court a family friendly environment in which to visit their loved ones. Everyone plays their important part, from the welcome at reception, entertainment provided for the residents to helping set up dads room, moving furniture, installing the TV and looking after the beautiful grounds outside.

My mum has been here for over 2 years now and is very happy and content. All staff are very friendly, kind and caring. We can visit at any time and when we do the staff are all very welcoming. The facilities are good, mum has a lovely warm room with ensuite toilet and washbasin and this is kept spotlessly clean. On the whole mum enjoys her food and the chef makes delicious cakes! Several activities are organised for the residents to join in and entertainment is regularly organised which the residents enjoy, including a Summer fete and Christmas party.
