Round-the-clock care is provided and a 'nurse call' system is fitted throughout the home. Communal areas comprise two sitting rooms and two dining rooms on each floor. All meals at Mill House are prepared by a qualified chef and are high in nutritional value with emphasis on home-style cooking.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. 3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.978 for Mill House Care Home with Nursing is calculated as follows:

      1. 22 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 22 Positive Reviews = 2.200 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (22 Positive Reviews ÷ 45 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.978

I can only truly say that Mill House met and exceeded every possible expectation. All the ladies and all the staff even before he arrived, were so kind and helpful. Even when his forthcoming respite had to quickly be changed to "end of life" you were all so kind in facilitating the move, taking to hospital for his transfer and finally greeting him rather late one evening. From then on he was at peace in great part due to the outstanding care and love he received. For my part you made it possible to be with him day and night with such kindness and sympathy and love. I shall be ever indebted to you all for the quality of those final days.

The kindness and sympathy of the staff at Mill House helped to ease my pain over my mothers last illness. Although she was very confused and agitated, staff were always gentle and patient and gave her excellent care - even though she was sometimes resistant.
Levels of cleanliness were high and food well prepared.

I wish to thank the manager and her wonderful team of nurses and carers for looking after my mother so well for nearly two years and being so supportive when she passed away in August 2015.

My mother over the last three years has enjoyed respite care at Mill House Chipping Campden, very regularly. Throughout this period both my mother and I have always been extremely pleased. On my mothers last and final visit to Mill House, when she became ill with a chest infection and actually died, all the staff treated both my mother and I with the utmost kindness, care and support, which I will always be eternally grateful for.

We discovered Mill House at a time when my mother was increasingly fragile and had just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. She could no longer live on her own and we were desperate to find a secure and peaceful environment with excellent nursing care for her to spend her remaining few weeks.
Koren made the admission process very easy and quick and relieved us of a lot of the stress of moving Mum out of her house.
Mum died after only 4 weeks in Mill House, but the care she received during that short time was exceptional.
Mill House is a lovely building with a sunny, tranquil garden and bright, airy communal spaces. All the staff are dedicated and friendly and made her final days as dignified and enjoyable as they could.
I have no hesitation in recommending Mill House. My Mum had the best end she could have had in their care.

The few days my grandmother was with Mill House gave her a dignified ending to her life, treated with the upmost care to an extremely poorly lady. The staff couldn't do enough for me to make the last few days as comfortable as possible. They were on hand to support me, and I felt that they would endeavour to make this emotional time as pleasant as it possibly can. She was made to look clean and tidy and the care was impeccable.

My husband has been using Mill House for respite care since November 2014. It has not been all plain sailing but the staff are most welcoming and calm and caring towards John. Koren the manager is extremely co-operative when booking respite care.

My 88 year old mum stayed at Mill House for 2 months respite care during March and April 2015. She consistently told me the carers there were “wonderful, kind and patient” with her. Mum had significant issues, dietary problems, pressure sores following an extended stay in hospital, post operative pain with her hip and incontinence. She received the best of care from the staff who were clearly professional, hard working and committed to doing their very best for the residents. As a visitor I always felt welcome, I could come and go unannounced and my impression during every visit was that Mill House was a very friendly place where residents were in good hands. Also Mill House is in a good location near the village centre which meant I could push mum around in a wheelchair and visit a few cafes during visits!

From the day I met Naomi in hospital, just a few days after my foot operation, I was lucky enough to be accepted, straight off, in to Mill House, in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire. From the onset of my month's stay, I was treated with the utmost care, courtesy, dignity and respect by everyone and the food was both nutritious and tasty - delicious in fact and you can tell it is mostly hand prepared - a great asset to patients such as myself, who were in need of good nourishment, after surgery. Thank you and to you all for the home's excellent services, and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Mill House, as a perfect place for either a short term or long term stay there. A rare commodity these days, indeed. Today, I was rung up by my surgery to say that I was being moved to a rehabilitation bed within In 3/4hour, I was here in Jubilee Court, having packed up my stuff, with the help from Fran and Sarah who were fantastic! As was everyone else, but sadly too many to mention. Thank you!

My wife has been bed ridden for over five years. She has received good attention at all times, her physical condition is good, reflecting very well on staff care. During the last six months or so the general atmosphere and willingness of care staff has changed from good to excellent, general cleanliness has improved to excellent, a few short comings exist still with general maintenance and lack of suitable lounge seating, this is easily rectified. I feel very satisfied with this effort to provide a high standard of complete care.

The card delivered to my Mother-in-Law during the final weeks of her life here have been exemplary, from the HCA's and qualified morning staff alike. As a nurse myself I could nit have done any better myself. She was treated with dignity and thoughtfulness and nothing was too much for the staff. My only criticism a minor one is that no soap is provided in the rooms which I find very strange for a home with such high standards.

Mill House is a wonderful place. My mother soon settled in. The staff are all kind and very caring. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is super, I have eaten with Mom on many occasions. There is entertainment most afternoons for the residents too. I feel so lucky to have found such a lovely homely place a real home from home, certainly a very special place for a very special mom.

My parents have been in Mill House for 8 months now and the care/nursing has been of a high standard throughout. We have been particularly grateful for the help and understanding given whilst we have been selling their house, by deferring some of the fees. Yes, it is expensive but what price do you put on knowing your parents are safe, content and well looked after?
