Oak Lodge is situated within the picturesque ancient Somerset market town of Chard. We are six miles from Ilminster and seven miles from Axminster. Being close to the town we are conveniently placed for shops, pubs, restaurants and public transport links. We operate our own minibus for your convenience.

We provide personal and nursing care for older people on a long term, convalescent and short stay basis. In addition, we have “The Acorns” a small separate area dedicated for the provision of specialist dementia care for just eight people. The Acorns is a completely self contained unit with a dedicated garden and has become known as a centre of excellence for dementia care. The Acorns has been designed, furnished and decorated according to latest thinking from specialist researchers into Dementia.

All our rooms have television points, a lockable facility for valuables, a nurse call alarm and smoke detectors.

Twenty-four hour cover is provided by a qualified, experienced and committed care team specifically recruited for their sensitivity, dedication and professional expertise in this area of care. All specialist equipment is available.

All Majesticare’s Homes put Residents’ choices first, and at Oak Lodge you are free to eat your meals in our dining rooms or in your own room. We are happy to provide meals for visitors as well. Our fresh home-cooked food is nutritionally balanced and we cater for special requirements such as vegetarian or soft foods.

At Oak Lodge we have a dedicated activities organiser who arranges a lively social calendar including arts, entertainment, exercise, trips such as shopping, and events in the Home. We also arrange regular visits from Hairdressers, chiropodists, dentists, opticians, local GP’s, and a range of other professionals.
