The Review Score of 9.4 (maximum of 10) for Lynhales Hall Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Lynhales Hall Nursing Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.824 for Lynhales Hall Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (99 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.824

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered beds. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered beds has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 4.616 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lynhales Hall Nursing Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

My opinion is that my friend is in a warm, comfortable and suitable environment, adequately catering for all her mental and physical needs. The home is well staffed and qualified to cater for all dementia, Alzheimers, physical and mental health problems. Highly recommended.

I have been living at Lynhales for a few years now and really enjoy being here. I attend a day centre twice a week which Lynhales has arranged for me. There is always a lot going on with activities and all the staff are kind and caring. I enjoy spending the warmer days outside admiring the grounds.

My good friend and neighbour is a resident here. Staff are very caring and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. You are welcomed with a hot drink and a smile. All the other residents looked well groomed and again nothing is ever too much trouble when they have 3 or 4 people wanting them at the same time !!
Would recommend the home for sure !!!

Beautiful and peaceful home with amazing staff. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff here and my Mother-in-law wants for nothing.
Just driving up the driveway gives enough confidence to know what to expect. As you enter the building there is always a welcoming greeting. There are daily activities for the residents so they don't get bored.

To sum up. I checked a lot of homes for my Mother-in-law and Lynhales seemed the best for her needs. She is happier now than she has been for years.

Mum has lived at the home for 4 years and has dementia and mobility problems. The home are wonderful with her. I know I can leave her in safe hands, which is extremely important to me. The only thing I could complain about is the language difficulty some of the care staff seem to have. I appreciate speaking a different language is hard (I can't), but some have not mastered the use of English. The house and grounds are exceptional with an abundance of wildlife which my mum loves to see.

Mum has been living at Lynhales Hall Nursing Home since May 2016 when her Dementia advanced and she needed 24-hour care. From my very first visit, I was so impressed with the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that greeted me. I feel involved in Mum's care and can truly say she is happier and more settled than she has been for some time and responds so well to all staff members. Mum was always slightly aloof and very private and insular before moving but will now chat and dance and hug people she comes into contact with. Her poor appetite before she moved has been replaced with enthusiasm and enjoyment of all her meals through the patient coaxing and encouragement of all the staff. Lynhales Hall does truly have an open door policy and staff are always on hand to discuss concerns, however, trivial. I am always offered a hot drink even when staff are clearly very busy and always updated on any changes in Mum including treatments/appointments, concerns regarding her health and well-being. Thank you all

My niece has over the past 5 years had the most horrendous placements in 23 assorted Mental Health institutions throughout the country. Every medication known to man was prescribed to "keep her quiet and calm" . This was suppressing the problem, not helping her through. Being continually drugged up and in a world of her own had its consequences, ongoing residential placements! . Some of these establishments, which were privately run, were a disgrace. There was no compassion, kindness, patience, or even any caring aspect. Staff literally had no interest in their work or their patient/resident.

Often being left alone very frightened and needing just a little kindness shown, a drastic deterioration took place time and time again. Her hair was unkempt and her general appearance scruffy, everything screamed of neglect. No one anywhere cared or wanted to help. Lies were spread around, incorrect reports and incorrect diagnosis forwarded to new placements; no one would take responsibility or listen to us her family as to how patients with Mental Health issues are being treated.

How can this be in our Society today? On one occasion I said to a senior Doctor "She would have better treatment in prison" I was told "Yes, she would". What an admission, but we know so, so true.

Much to our horror the next placement was to be into a Nursing home with very old people. How could they even suggest this? This would be yet another disaster. She was only 54, to be among old people - no, no no.

But.... We will always Thank God for this recent placement! At Lynhales the staff are caring, (and show that they care) they are compassionate, patient, kind, committed and dedicated. They understand what's going on and they want to help.

They know everyone by name in the centre and acknowledge each resident and visitor in the corridor; making each one feel special and important: each one an individual. Something so trivial as an "hello" means so much to these loved ones; reaching out their hand to them, or just a touch on the shoulder reassuring them. These carers use their common sense, their initiative, they certainly go beyond the call of duty. Plus so much 'involvement and participation' for the family. My niece went from being bedridden, incontinent, not bathing, not talking, being spoon fed to such an improvement, it was unbelievable. She is able to take herself to the toilet, sit at the dining table for meals with other residents, using a knife and fork. Having a bath/shower. Walking down the mile long drive on a daily basis. Phoning her family regularly, knitting, doing jigsaw puzzles and crafts and watching television! I could go on and on, so much progress.

Yes she still has a long, long way to go, but we no longer have to worry about her, wonder what she is going through, or happening to her. We have the reassurance that she is well cared for.
She has been transformed from a zombie to someone who has some quality of life. She feels loved and cared for, and knows the staff have her best interests at heart. Even visitors are treated with respect and courtesy: a friendly chat and a 'cuppa`!!! We are kept informed of all eventualities and asked for our suggestions and ideas.

I certainly would never have expected such results in a "Nursing Home", but it is all down to the individuals; the management, and the staff, who have obviously been highly trained, and carry out their work in a highly dedicated and professional manner and look after their clients with a passion.

This is a Care Home that is worthy of high praise, because they achieve results for the `very important`people in their care.
This is how it should be done, why is not so in so many places?.

Thank you all at Lynhales: You are a credit to society!!!!

We cannot thank you enough.
