Barchester Hilderstone Hall

My parents have lived at Hilderstone Hall since summer 2014, both with dementia and mum with cancer too. Everyone there has been marvellous - professional, caring, skillful. Mum died 4 weeks ago - again the care and compassion was incredible, with extra care for dad and concern for my own well-being. A room more suited to dad's individual needs was found. Food (buffet) provided after the funeral - 'best practice' all round.

Excellent care by staff
My mother has been a resident at Hilderstone for 12 years. Throughout that time she has had excellent care. The staff are quite mature which is comforting to residents, than having very young staff, who can't relate as well. They assist with meal times where necessary. The staff have shown extreme patience and care when dealing with her individual needs. There is a good social calendar if the resident wants to join in.

I have visited Hilderstone Hall for almost thirty years to see friends. During June 1912 I spent a week residing there as my family were on holiday and quite enjoyed myself. I don't visit quite as often now I've got a bit old. 96 years in fact.

Staff make great efforts to treat my sister and others as individuals with very different needs. No place is perfect but they are genuinely kind and caring. The nursing staff are always extremely busy but they always make me fell involved in my sister's care and listen to what I have to say.

My mother was a resident in Hilderstone Hall for 3 years. Although to begin with she wasn't happy to go there, she soon realised how kind everyone was. she received excellent care and attention which took a great weight off me as an only child. I could strongly recommend Hilderstone to anyone.
