  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.875 for Morton Grange is calculated as follows: ( (294 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 336 Ratings = 4.875

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.848 for Morton Grange is calculated as follows:

      1. 28 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 28 Positive Reviews = 2.800 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (28 Positive Reviews ÷ 66 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.848

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). Mum has been a resident in Morton Grange since November 2010.
During this time I have been pleased with the level of care and support given to Mum and myself by all the members of staff.
The staff are always welcoming and open, telephoning me with any issues they have or any changes that occur with Mum.
I have been impressed that other health care professionals have been involved as and when required.

My wife has been at Morton Grange for six years now. We looked at other care homes but decided on Morton Grange for her and it was the best decision we could have made, she has always been happy there.
It is well run from the top down. The care staff are brilliant. They are well trained and treat the residents with respect and help them to keep their dignity. I am always made welcome whenever I visit with a smile and a friendly word. The entertainment for the residents is top class as are the trips ou in the mini bus. So from my experience, I can highly recommend Morton Grange.

Morton Grange has a family atmosphere created by 30 years of dedicated service. Residents soon settle and become part of the community along with their families. Residents needs are met by a dedicated team: Hands on support and care, starting from the top and running through. There is such an abundance of activities both on and off site - too many to record. Never complacent, the team is always looking to extend the range of experiences. The monthly newsletter is an excellent way of keeping in touch. The management team is always accessible and prompt in responding to any concerns. Morton Grange is open all hours and I feel reassured.

I have great respect for this care home. My wife was in another care home which I thought was the norm until she was transferred here and then I found a great contrast. Where would you find the owner of an establishment forsake her family on Christmas day to give her flock in the above care, all the assistance, feeding etc to the residents who have to have help. 2 yrs ago I went to Canada to see out daughter alone, the staff at Morton Grange phoned me every 3 days to report her.

We were delighted to find Morton Grange because it was privately owned by a clearly committed and engaged person and was run by professional and qualified staff. In fact, in addition to the nurses, some of the care staff have nursing qualifications.
Key points for us when we reviewed the homes were the smell (not a problem in itself but indicative of the diligence of the care staff); the number of staff on duty and amount of quality interaction with the residents; and quality of room and communal areas.
Morton Grange scored very highly in all of these areas and throughout the 6 months she has been there the standards have remained constant.
I would also like to mention that the staff call us regularly to let us know of any problems or changes in care and we have seen some of the many events that Morton Grange runs for residents (and visitors).
I recommend Morton Grange highly to anyone needing residential or nursing care.
Note also that fees are very reasonable.

My Mum receives excellent care in all respects here at Morton Grange. The food is excellent, the home is very clean and the staff are wonderful. It is always difficult when a loved one needs care over and above what you know you can provide, Morton Grange provides this. The residents are treated as part of an extended family, with regular entertainment and trips out. I am very pleased my Mum is here. I don't think I could find anywhere better.

My father has improved greatly since he has come to Morton Grange. This is his fourth nursing home and by far the best. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble for them.

My mum had move to Morton Grange from a residential home in Leicester due to her changed needs. After investigating local nursing homes I decided that Morton Grange seemed a good choice. We were lucky enough to be accepted relatively quickly, and Morton Grange made the trauma of moving my 91 yr old mother 50 miles away from her home town relatively easy.
They have since looked after my mum, in my opinion, in a caring and kind manner, making her feel welcome and attending to any problems, needs or wishes as quickly as they were able. My mum is still of reasonably sound mind, but suffers from Parkinsons and the onset of dementia, so I know things will deteriorate, but it is good to know she is somewhere where the staff care about her, and where I can visit her daily.
Mum loves all the activities, outings and social occasions Morton Grange offer and after the recent street party for the Queens 90th birthday, mum said she really enjoyed it. The next "party" is Morton Grange's 30th anniversary - we are looking forward to that.

When you walk into the home it's always warm, clean and well ventilated. The staff welcome you when you visit. They give information about how my sister is progressing. There is always plenty of staff around to respond to the needs of any patient. It is a pleasure to visit because the staff are always happy, smiling and thorough, they are very busy. I think my sister is safe because staff respond quickly to any emergency. It is comforting to know that my sister is in a loving caring home.

My family have been so grateful for the wonderful and loving care my sister has received over the past 18 months while in Morton Grange. From the very top of management staff to the cleaners, laundry and personnel. We are aware of how caring they are to residents and give them so much support and all whilst retaining their dignity. Everyone has been wonderful to the whole family during a time of immense sadness when my sister requires 24 hour care.

Looked around a few homes for mother before deciding on Morton Grange, and all of the family members have been so impressed with the decision we made on behalf of mum.
The care and kindness we have experienced for mum and ourselves has been overwhelming, and I would have no hesitation in recommending the home for any family member looking for a place for a relative.
Kindness and care starts from the very top with the owners direct involvement visiting and sitting with residents and family, offering encouragement and always concerned about maintaining high standards. This standard of care is followed up by the Manageress who ensures high standards are the key factor of the care delivered to residents.
During our daily visits we have met nurses, carers and cooks and it is impressive to see not only their commitment to care, but to see them smiling and happy in the job they are performing.

My mother was a resident for some months till her death, and the care she had was of the highest standard. My mum had been a frequent visitor to Morton and when she had her stroke this home was her choice. When she came to functions here she always said how happy the residents looked. When visiting mum we were always made welcome by the staff and the nursing staff or Shanci were always willing to answer any questions we had on mums health or care. Morton Grange made my mums last months as happy as they could for her,and her family knew she was well looked after.

An excellent care home which goes beyond all my expectations. Residents are always treated with kindness and respect, their dignity and dress is always to the highest order of choice and cleanliness. Food is of the highest quality and prepared/presented. These qualities are also applied to family and other friends/visitors who are made to feel very welcome by all staff who do this as well a care for the residents. On a personal level I can say that whenever I go there it feels like going home.

My father has Alzheimer's disease and was admitted as a resident 9 months ago. The care he receives at Morton Grange is excellent. He is treated with dignity and is genuinely loved by the staff and management. Morton offers a very wide range of social activities and encourages participation by family members allowing families to spend time together and to continue to share experiences that may not otherwise have been possible. I can not bear to think of him in any other care home.

We live a distance away from Morton Grange but every time we visit our sister-in-law we are always impressed by the warm welcome we receive, the friendly care staff and general running of the home. I worked in a nursing/residential home myself for 18 years and recognise a caring well run home. We are grateful and have peace of mind that my sister-in-law has such good care.

I have never known a more caring, giving and never too much trouble attitude in a care home (had bad experiences with my Dad in horrible care homes). I would recommend Morton Grange to the hills and back. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the residents and also the people attached to the residents they will go out of their way to help you. The residents are always happy, clean and well looked after. They have ample activities for the residents and it is just like walking into an extended family.

The management are energetic and enthusiastic which certainly has a very positive effect on the residents.
The staff are also focused on making residents and their families very welcome.
There are plenty of activities to keep the residents as active physically and mentally as possible.
The atmosphere is very positive with lots of interaction by the staff with the residents.
A lot of effort is made by the managers and staff to get to know the residents history and background to allow them to befriend the residents as much as possible.
A team that genuinely Care and it makes a big difference.

  • We have zero tolerance for fraudulent reviews, which includes but is not limited to, an owner or agent of a care home / service offering incentives to reviewers to complete or remove reviews, impersonating a reviewer, selectively soliciting reviews, copying in-house comment cards, or attempting to damage a competitor by submitting a negative review. If we discover a fraudulent review, we will remove that review and we may remove all reviews for that care home / service and any care homes / services in the same group.
