Located in a beautiful part of Leicestershire, Magna Care Home is a large art deco home that was once a cinema and has since been specially converted into a 29 bedded accommodation providing Dementia and Nursing care.

At Magna Care Home Residents have a choice of lounge areas with scenic views of gardens which feature comfortable and specially designed furnishings. There is a range of comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms; some rooms also have views across the garden.

My husband has excellent care from all staff. The manager leads this team and is visible at all times, talking to residents in families, her door is always open.
We have monthly meeting with staff and carers/family members.
The home is spotless, food excellent, attention to detail at all times.
Excellent activities programme, staff participate to enable residents to participate whenever possible.

My mum has been in Magna Care Home since December, and have no complaints whatsoever. The management are so friendly, are always available, and get involved with the residents. From the very first day we visited we were made to feel welcome and it was obvious everyone there was cared for and happy and well looked after. The home itself is spotless, and the meals are amazing (home cooked) as soon as my mum arrived, she was made to feel at home and settled in lovely. Nothing was too much bother for the lovely staff, who wanted to know all mums likes and dislikes, which they go out of their way to help with. Mum loves music and loves to dance when she can. Many a time we have turned up and the staff will be dancing with her. She loves to look nice and have her jewellery on which they always do. She always looks clean and the main thing is I know she is safe and cared for, I have always been her main carer. The staff are amazing and they have a great activities co-ordinator.

My mother passed away this month, it was expected. I cannot thank the management and staff for their compassion and caring attitude enough. We are happy with the fact mum was not on her own. Staff have always made us feel welcome and happy to answer any queries. Mum always appeared well looked after (she could not communicate due to dementia). Food always seemed excellent, cups of tea could be improved - PG - 'joke'.
The only suggestion I would make would be to provide an area for visitors to spend with relative, things to read etc. Some family do not visit as they feel awkward.

My sister is in this care home for nursing needs. The home has provided an excellent standard of care. Very considerate and caring staff who definitely provide all caring needs. Good standard of food which is tailored to my sisters needs and problems.

Activities are encouraged and all residents are included where possible. The home has a very friendly atmosphere and visitors are actively encouraged and welcomed into the home. The home is always clean and tidy as are the residents. The home always smells clean, there is always a choice of food and excellent portions.

My wife was admitted following 6 weeks in hospital, during the last two or three weeks she has not been eating well. I believe the home are doing their best to help my wife, she will also need help to become more mobile. Her treatment and care are very good. The staff are very helpful and attentive to all.

Overall standard in the home is good. The staff are lovely and mostly very caring. The food is good, but the kitchen staff were not very knowledgeable regarding diabetic needs. However they have made great efforts to correct this and things are now a lot better. My only adverse comment would be to stay that at times there are not enough carers on hand.
