We are located in the centre of the picturesque village of Halton on Lune, and enjoy commanding views over the Lune Valley. Our convenient location is within 5 minutes of the city of Lancaster, whilst enjoying rural outlooks and a village setting. Who we care for St Wilfrids is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection to provide residential and nursing care to elderly people, on both a short and long term basis. Our home manager Janette Bacon has a wealth of experience in caring for older people in both the private sector and the NHS. Janette is supported by a team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants throughout 24 hours a day. St Wilfrids was originally built as the Vicarage serving the village of Halton on Lune, at the turn of the century. It is a most impressive property having been built by a prosperous local gentleman who wanted to Vicarage to reflect his wealth and contribution to the local area. The property is constructed from local stone and features a wealth of period characteristics including stone mullion windows and fireplaces, panelled doors, high ceilings and walnut panelling. Through its sympathetic conversion it has retained all of these impressive features, making it an exceptionally attractive environment. Accommodation at St Wilfrids is spacious and offers plenty of choice in both communal and personal space. The home has a variety of en-suite rooms, the majority being single, although there are a small number of companion rooms for married couples and close friends. The communal accommodation includes a bright and spacious dining room, 2 day rooms and a large reception / entrance hall which many of our residents enjoy as it is central to the home, and the comings and goings of the day can be easily observed from this central point. St Wilfrids stands in large grounds with a large level lawn including attractive seating area to the front of the property where our residents enjoy the views. Daily life at St Wilfrids is flexible and stimulating, our home manager has a strong focus on delivering “person centred care” meaning that a persons care package is directly tailored towards meeting their individual needs. Our dedicated activities co-ordinator ensures that a varied and meaningful activities programme is organised in consultation with our residents again, focussing on their likes and dislikes, ensuring that there is always something for everyone. Regular outings are also organised and are very popular with our residents. |
