I came from hospital into Swallownest because of my nursing needs after breaking my back. I am very happy here and would certainly recommend this care home. The staff are very friendly and helpful .I do enjoy quizzes and puzzles which staff kindly bring for me.

After being in hospital for an infection in my legs I was sent home to recover. After being at home for two weeks I just couldn't manage and decided to come to a care home. I chose Swallownest for 2 weeks respite and have not been disappointed. While I have been here I have enjoyed a game of bingo and attended a fabulous Easter concert. I have also enjoyed the company and I can't praise the staff here enough, they can not do enough for you and after staying here this time I wouldn't hesitate to return for respite if I need too. I would also recommend this home to anyone needing long term care or just respite care.

Madge was having carers come into her home four times a day and eventually it became clear that she needed 24 hour care. Madge started going into Swallownest for respite and then it was decided that she would go and live at Swallownest permanently. Madge settled in almost immediately and has made some lovely friends. Madge always tells us she is happy there and joins in a lot of the activities.

The welcome given to residents and their family members is always excellent. This constantly carries over into the level of care given to the residents on a daily basis. The home provides regular activities to residents which both entertain and stimulate. My mother has been a resident for nearly two years and constantly praises the food offered, both for its quality and also on the variety. She is always full of praise for the staff and the friendly and dignified way in which they treat her. She often says that nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

I came here because I could no longer look after myself at home. The care here is very good and I feel very safe here I get involved with the activities here which even suprised myself as I have never been one for joining in. The food in the home is generally very good. Swallownest has now become home to me and I have made some lovely friends here.

I came into Swallownest for six weeks respite care and I have been very happy with the care I have received. Nothing is too much trouble, staff are very friendly, the home is kept very very clean. My son in-law and sister have been happy with my care at Swallownest and we would not hesitate to choose this home again for my care and would certainly recommend this home to others.

I came into care for health reasons. I was having regular carers come into my home but was then told that I needed 24 hour care. I was happy with the idea of going to live in a care home. I knew a few of the staff as I am a local person. I instantly settled in and made new friends. I now call Swallownest my home and I am very content here. My family visit most days and so do my friends. I would definitely recommend Swallownest to others. It is a nice place to live.

My dad was unable to take care of himself so he needed 24 hour care. I was devastated about Dad coming into care after all the bad publicity you hear about care homes. I felt like the worst daughter ever. After my dad had been here for a week it was like the biggest weight had been lifted and that I had become my dad's daughter again instead of his carer. My time with my dad is now quality time, we sit and chat now instead of me taking care of Dad.

I used to come into swallownest for respite on a regular basis. Eventually I decided to come and live here as I had carers coming in 4 times a day but not through the night. I am now very settled here. I enjoy the food and I am happy with the care I receive. I also have a canary of my own which I keep next to me in a cage. My friends and family visit me often and I enjoy the activities within the home.

I would recommend this home to others for several reasons. It is always kept lovely and clean, the meals are very nice and the carers are very good and very caring and easily approachable. While I have been living here I have made some lovely friends. I sit next to a lady called Hilda who I have become very good friends with. I have frequent visitors from my family who are always made to feel welcome when they come into our home. I am very settled here now although it was a difficult decision to leave my home.

I used to come into Swallownest care home for respite every Christmas for about three years. After failing health I started to stay at Swallownest more regularly until I eventually came to live here. I am settled here now and enjoy the food and now and again I attend the regular concerts. I lived on my own for quite a long time so am used to my own company and sometimes prefer to stay in my room. I pass my time watching TV and I like reading magazines which the staff bring to me often. I normally go down to the main lounge two or three times a week and I have made some nice friends here. I have a good relationship with the staff here and feel quite happy to let them know if I am worried about anything or if I have any concerns. I know I can no longer manage at home and although I miss my home, for me this is the next best place.

I was very apprehensive about having to leave my home and come into a care home but the minute I entered swallownest I immediately felt at home. I am very happy and settled here now and feel that I am treated with the upmost respect. The staff here are lovely they are very helpful and very approachable with any concerns I may have. Although I like to spend a lot of time in my room I sometimes enjoy some of the activities that are available. I have joined in bingo and enjoy the church services and I really enjoyed the jubilee party we had. I was dancing for the first time in years with my brother. I have regular visits from my family and friends and visit a day centre once a week. If for some reason you have to leave your home and go into care. I sincerely hope that you will be as happy as I am. I now feel I have a new lease of life and am doing things that I haven't done for years.

My mum has lived at swallownest for nearly 5 years. I am happy with the care that my mum receives and the quality of her social life at swallownest. I take my mum out as often as possible and feel quite happy about leaving her at swallownest after we return home.

When I first came into this home the first thing I noticed was how clean and fresh it was compared to some of the other homes that me and my daughter had been to look at. I had a lovely welcome from the staff and was made to feel very at home. It took me quite a while to settle in, after all it is a big thing giving up your home that you have lived in for many years. Although I missed my home I enjoyed the company and the security my new home provided and soon started to settle into my new home. After 3 years here I would not be anywhere else. I feel that I am treated as an individual and always with respect and feel quite happy to spend the rest of my life here at swallownest.

I have lived at swallownest for 5 years now and they have been 5 very happy years.I have a very nice relationship with the staff who in my eyes are more like friends to me than staff. My room is very nice and the food is lovely. While living here I have lost over 5 stone with the help and support of staff and have have gained confidence in myself. I enjoy the concerts and weekly games of bingo. I would recommend this home to others in the hope that they will be as happy here as I am.

My wife has been at Swallownest for just over two years. I am very happy with the care Mary recieves. Although my wife cannot speak I can tell by her actions that she is happy living here. She eats well and is always kept lovely and clean. I am always made to feel welcome when I visit my wife which is every day. The staff are all very approachable as is the manager and the adminstrator. I would recommend swallownest to others as in my eyes you could not find a better place for your loved ones.

My mum has been at swallownest for just over a year. She has settled here after a severe stroke that took most of her mobility. My mother seems happy here and gets along with the staff. she enjoys the entertainment and the trips. She also eats well and enjoys the meals provided. Her room is light and airy and of a moderate size.

I would recommend swallownest to others. My partner Margaret is happy here and settled. Meals are very nice and I have stayed for lunch with Margaret a couple of times and I often take margaret out for lunch. I attend the regular concerts with margaret and also attend the monthly church services or any coffee mornings or fetes that are organised. The home is a very friendly home and I am always made to feel welcome. I am on the homes commitee and attend regular meetings.

I would recommend this home to others. The home is kept very clean, The staff are very friendly and approachable as is the manager. The home is very accessible as I am in a motorised chair it is also very near my home so is very convenient for my wife to visit.

I have been a resident here since 2007 and I am very happy and settled here. I enjoy the food and can honestly say that this home is very clean. I have a good relationship with the staff and the manager and feel happy that if I had any issues that I could talk to the manager or a member of staff. I enjoy the concerts we have here and have my own computer that I spend time on playing games. After living here for 5 years I would recommend this home to others and would like to think their stay here would be as happy as mine.

The home is excellent. The staff very caring. If I had to go into a home I would if possible go there. I always recommend the home when talking about my mother to people.
