The Review Score of 9.435 for Willow Bank Nursing Home is based on 11 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.84 for Willow Bank Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (105 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 125 Ratings = 4.84

    • Quantity Score: 5 Points are available for the number of 'Positive Reviews' for a care home / service. A Positive Review is defined as:

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.595 for Willow Bank Nursing Home is calculated as follows:

      1. 11 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 11 Positive Reviews = 1.100 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (11 Positive Reviews ÷ 37 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.595

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). I can't thank Willow Bank staff enough for the care and compassion they all showed to my mother in the months leading to her passing away.
I would say this care home is, without a doubt, a gold standard for excellence in overall nursing and total care.
A building is just bricks and mortar, it's the people within that building and the direction from management that makes the difference.
They should all be proud of themselves both as individuals and as a group of professionals and know that because they continued to care, sometimes against all the odds, it is a great comfort to our family to know my mother was among people with commitment and compassion.

This is a wonderful nursing home. The facilities and bedrooms are lovely, as are the sitting rooms. Medical/nursing care is excellent. Mostly though it is the care that the residents receive that is the outstanding feature of the home. The staff from the manager and deputy manager, right through to all staff who work there, are caring, kind, with a genuine love for the residents. Cannot praise them enough. My mum loves it there, and staff were extremely kind to family.

My fathers carer has been excellent in her appreciation of my fathers needs. Also the manager has been first class in her work for obtaining continuing care from Leeds NHS. The head nurse is superb in her care of my father and he really likes her.

Staff are incredible from domestic through to management! They genuinely care for residents and their families and do everything within their power to help at a difficult and distressing time. Food is delicious and in my grandmothers words "like being in a 5* hotel" The chef (Kate) really cares about residents food preferences (and desires) and does everything she can to accommodate. A gem of a home!

Willow Bank is a home from home, it is family orientated. All the staff include in everything to do with my brother, what ever time you call in, they are always smiling. They don't only know my brothers name but also mine and my wife's, they put on entertainment, days out. This is my brothers home, they take care of him while still letting him have his independence.
