The Review Score of 8.400 for Warde Aldam Christian Nursing Home is based on 5 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.733 for Warde Aldam Christian Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.733

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 3.667 for Warde Aldam Christian Nursing Home is calculated as follows:

      1. 5 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 5 Positive Reviews = 0.500

      3. (5 Positive Reviews ÷ 60 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.167

Every resident is treated with respect at this nursing dementia home and called by their Christian name which I think is important. Being an MHA home there is a Christian influence and values again important and usually a minister visits regularly showing care and concern for each resident, staff and family members. There are plenty of activities especially music which is very important with dementia sufferers and it is nice to see residents singing along on these occasions/musical events. Regular updates/reviews ensures you know what is happening. Good hygiene and food complete the picture.

I would highly recommend Warde Aldam as they have cared for my husband in the last 12 months to the highest standard, the care is excellent. Cleanliness is very good, great food and varied alternative daily menu. Everyone is so welcoming and respect is given to every person visiting or otherwise. There is a lovely homely feel from day one. Unfortunately my husbands care was challenging and he has to be moved because his needs were reassessed, and it is with much regret that he will not live the rest of his life there. I being the wife can say the staff and management gave me complete peace of mind.

We are extremely grateful for the very kind comments that you have said about the home and the staff. You and your husband have become part of our family. I would like to wish you and your husband all the luck for the future and hope his new home gives you the same comfort we gave you.

I am very satisfied with the home that is looking after my husband, and most of all he seems happy and contented. That is all that matters to me. I only wish every carer could say the same. It is the hardest thing you will be asked to do, because you yourself can no longer cope, to let your loved one go. I will never get over the stress, but the staff at Warde Aldam have helped me to cope, cheerful bunch of people.

Thank you so much for your kind words. You and your husband have been a part of our family for two years now and it has been a pleasure as I am sure the next few years will be.
I am so glad that the staff team made a difference to the stressful times you have had and that they helped you through them. The staff work very hard and take joy in the role they do. As you have so kindly stated a cheerful bunch of people.
If there is anything else that we can help you with please do not hesitate to ask.

My sister has been resident at the home for several years now. The home always smells fresh and is very welcoming. The décor and furniture is smart. The staff are very caring towards residents. They are spoken to and treated kindly and the residents are always clean and tidy. Sometimes my sister is not in her own clothing and items purchased are not always worn by her. My sister is very happy at the home and rarely shows any sign of wanting to leave with us. The food appears to be excellent on sight but unfortunately my sister is on fork mashable food which she does not enjoy eating. Activities are frequent and varied and to summarise its a beautiful environment which I would recommend to anyone.

Thank you so much for your kind words and endorsement of the work we do at Warde Aldam. It is comforting to hear your kind words about the staff team and how caring they are towards the resident’s at the home. The team consider their work as a vocation and making a difference to your loved one and the rest of the Warde Aldam family makes it all worth while. If there is anything else we can do to help please do not hesitate to ask

My mother-in-law was cared for by the staff at Warde Aldam for approximately 4 years - initially and throughout with chronic Alzheimer's Disease, and latterly in need of a great deal of nursing care and attention.

My wife and I can well appreciate how difficult it can be to provide a first class product and service to those in need of such care, but in Warde Aldam we not only found a place with the facilities and fabric to do so, we also found staff who's dedication and patience were second to none.

My mother-in-law passed away on 31 July 2015 but the enduring sadness will be made easier to bear by the knowledge that Warde Aldam made her as comfortable as anyone could in such difficult circumstances. We are extremely grateful to the staff in general and in particular to two real stars who also helped the whole family through these last difficult years.
