Recommendation submitted from a Website Submission by Lesley Crookes (Daughter of Resident/Service User) on Wednesday 31 December 2014. Recommendation relates to December 2014.
Its not easy to have to take the decision that its time your loved one went into a nursing home. For my Mum it was this or hospital and we were so lucky to get her a room in the Rambla, a large sunny room with views into the garden. The staff are so friendly and caring when she went in it was October and by early November she better than she had for a long time. It is with great sadness that she died and didn't make it to 2015, she had 90 good years and the Rambla helped her to have the last few months with dignity. Thanks to all there for your support through this very difficult time.
There are lots of Staff, always a tea, coffee or squash on Mums table, biscuit and a friendly chat, choice of 3 courses lunch and tea she was so well looked after and everyone was kind. Lots of activities for those who can take part, the calendar for December on the run up to Christmas was full of choirs, visits, parties. It was always lovely to visit Mum as I was always made welcome by the staff as well as be able to see Mum, you can call in any time.
