How to find us Jubilee Nursing Home is both attractively and conveniently located close to the centre of the City of Sunderland in a conservation area. The home is well served by public transport links, being close to the Metro, Buses and Railway. Thornhill Crescent is a particularly attractive area, located close to the centre of Sunderland, whilst being quiet and relatively secluded for its central location and benefiting from all of the usual facilities and amenities that you would expect with a city centre location. Who we care for We care for elderly people who require both personal and nursing care and support; we are registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection to provide care and residence to 35 people. Our Home Manager Carol Trueman is a registered nurse and has been at Jubilee Nursing Home for many years in the roles of staff nurse, deputy manager and home manager. Registered Nurses, NVQ Trained Healthcare Assistants and Ancillary Staff who ensure high standards in care and accommodation support Carol around the clock ensuring a safe and homely environment in which residents can gain as high a quality of life as their circumstances permit. General description Jubilee is a purpose built care home, providing the ideal venue for older people as the building is designed around meeting our residents’ needs. Although purpose built, Jubilee was constructed from old materials so blends well into its prominent location. The home offers both residential and nursing care, and is a popular choice for short term care breaks for convalescence purposes, as it is in close proximity to Sunderland Royal Infirmary, we provide short term respite / convalescence breaks in addition to our long term care packages. The accommodation at Jubilee is most attractive. On the ground floor there is a large sitting room, dining room, hairdressing salon, managers office and a Victorian style conservatory, which is a popular venue for residents who want to see the hustle and bustle of the city. On the first and second floors are a number of attractive and well-appointed single and companion en-suite bedrooms, all of which are individually decorated and enjoy attractive views. The home also has attractive gardens, and the barbecue is a popular alternative to our home-style evening meals throughout the summer. We have a dedicated activities co-ordinator who organises weekly activity programmes and outings, the activities programme is organised in consultation with our residents to ensure that there is something that appeals to everyone, this includes a series of well attended events which are held throughout the year. We have strong links with the local community and enjoy reciprocal integration in events and activities. Over the last 12 months 75% of people who have been looking for a care home and visited Jubilee – have chosen us. If you are looking for a quality assured care home for yourself, a friend or a relative please contact our home manager Carol Trueman for further details or to arrange a viewing of this reputable care home. |
