The Review Score of 9.500 for Lomond Court Care Home is based on 15 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.75 for Lomond Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (139 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 180 Ratings = 4.75

    • Quantity Score: 5 Points are available for the number of 'Positive Reviews' for a care home / service. A Positive Review is defined as:

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.75 for Lomond Court Care Home is calculated as follows:

      1. 15 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 15 Positive Reviews = 1.500 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (15 Positive Reviews ÷ 40 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.750

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). When we visited the home looking on behalf of my mother, the management and staff provided straight forward information about the home. Having been escorted round the home we witnessed day to day duties being carried out by staff, rooms, kitchens, cleaners, activity rooms and in general a good overall account of themselves. My mother has been a resident under nursing care for the past 6 months. All her needs have been provided, she has settled without any hassle. All information we require is provided and their door is always open to offer support to all my family and my mother.

The manager is extremely switched on, approachable and supports ideas and input from relatives. My father settled well from the beginning in Lomond Court, after being unhappy in three other residential/nursing homes previously. the home has a relaxed and confident feel which I'm sure feeds through to the residents. I would recommend Lomond Care to other families. It has certainly worked well for ours. the new refurbishments are just the icing on the cake.

When my mother came to this home, she was a frightened, underweight lady. Now she smiles, responds to those around her. I never come in and find her distressed. She has gained weight and is well looked after.
I have only praise for the level of care and the kindness she is shown on a daily basis. Her room is welcoming and the staff are friendly and welcoming. There is a lovely atmosphere throughout.

Mum is happy in the home and loves the activities, particularly music. A new member of staff has introduced new activities which mum loves to participate in. Mum's hygiene and personal needs are well catered for and she always looks nice when I visit. The manager has been a great support and keep me up to date with mums progress. I feel lucky to have found such a good place for mum to stay which gives me peace of mind, she's being well looked after.

My experience of Lomond Court has been extremely positive. The staff are very friendly and know who I am when I visit. They are always polite and respect privacy when I visit. They are very caring and attentive to all the residents needs. All are approachable and always able to answer any queries I may have. The home is always clean and free of any odours. The staff are all neat and tidy. All the residents look clean and well cared for. I like that all the staff wear uniforms. I am always kept well informed of any updates. I have no negative points to make. Excellent care home.

Ex-husband being cared for very well despite his tending to be moody. Can't fault the extreme professionalism of nurses and carers. Room has been customised for ex-husband and staff can't do enough to make him comfortable and make him feel at home.

My mother went in to Lomond Court in September 2014 for respite and settled in quite easily. The staff are very helpful and assist with any problems that came along. My mothers dementia has been made able for me to understand, that to the caring staff and management at Lomond Court.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?

“Kind care is about remembering that we are working to maintain each and every Resident’s wellbeing in their home and as such, meeting their needs with dignity and respecting their choices.”

Amanda is a Registered Nurse with experience in providing care and support to enrich the lives of older people living with dementia. She is an enthusiastic leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.

She works closely with her team to deliver care and support in a way that means Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Amanda said: “I relish the opportunity to provide the best and kindest care and to make a difference to the lives of every Resident.”
