Braeside House is a care home for older people who have a visual impairment, which provides quality individual care in a homely supportive environment. Braeside House is run by the charity Royal Blind and based in South Edinburgh, close to bus routes and local shops. Can provide 24 hour relationship centred care for 70 residents. The home has 70 single bedrooms, with en suite facilities. Take Social Work funded residents at the nationally agreed fee level as well as private residents. All receive the same standard of care, facilities and service.

Braeside is a well staffed, well managed home, providing excellent care in a purpose built building with a pleasant environment. Staff are very attentive. Meals are excellent. All requests are responded to and facilitated.

Description: As Matron my main aim is to ensure that the resident is always at the centre of care and is recognised as a unique individual. My career spans over 40 years with the last 20 years committed to caring and supporting older people with a visual impairment at Royal Blind. Being involved in the care of older people has never failed to inspire me, learning from them, listening to them and always acting as a positive advocate for them.
