Woodhurst Care Centre is a distinguished former manse situated in a quiet, leafy area within walking distance of Carluke. Woodhurst is set in extensive grounds and combines an historic former manse with modern facilities; the home has been sympathetically refurbished with purpose built extensions added.

The Care Centre specialises in a range of care for the elderly, from assistance with basic living tasks through to elderly nursing clients. Woodhurst has a dedicated, multi skilled nursing team who work with a person centred approach, adapting to residents' needs. The team ensure that Woodhurst is a happy, welcoming and homely environment for all residents.

Day space consists of two lounges, a large dining room and a quiet room that offers residents and their relatives a comfortable and calming environment. The majority of bedrooms are single occupancy with ensuite facilities; rooms are located on two floors, with passenger lift access to the first floor.

All client rooms and communal areas are fitted with a call bell system so that staff assistance can be obtained quickly and easily.

Woodhurst has a beautiful rooftop garden terrace area where the gardening club, made up of residents and relatives, are able to tend to the plants and spend time relaxing together in the open air.

The Care Centre has a dedicated Activities Organiser who provides a range of activities to residents to promote stimulation and wellbeing. There is a varied and extensive weekly activities programme which includes outings and inhouse activities.

My relative went into the above care home in May 2015. I have experienced no problems with the care from the staff employed in this care home. I am really happy with this establishment and their commitment to the residents. It is always difficult to make a care decision for a relative but I feel my choice of home has made this change a lifestyle for my mother more easier to take.

Woodhurst care home was recommend for my parents from social worker as they both have dementia. It is local and is close so family can visit them easily at any time, it is very friendly.

Everything is quite satisfactory. The only thing I can recommend is 1 or 2 extra staff to give time for staff to talk more to residents.
