I have been attached to the Ancaster Home for many years and always enjoyed my visits here. I have talked to residents who are happy and have eaten delicious home cooked food. In all it stands alone as a beacon of a happy welcome home.

As a paramedic and fellow health care professional, I cannot praise Ancaster House and every level of staff enough from the gardener/handyman to cleaners, cooks and carers to the brilliant nurses and management team. Ancaster House provides the residents with everything they need, their professionalism shines through. My only mark down in the tick boxes was not to do with Ancaster House but die to my mother in law being unable to join in activities. A wonderful nursing home.

My mother was recently accepted as a resident at Ancaster House. Unfortunately although she suffered with dementia, she unfortunately developed a leg ulcer - secondary to diabeties, this was inoperable and the last week of mother life was spent with palliative care provided by the nurses and staff at Ancaster House. Their care of mother was exemplary, professional, caring and dignified, as a family we rate Ancaster House as second to none and would definitely recommend it to anyone needing nursing care.

Review of Ancaster House on Friday 13 September 2013 by K P Stewart (Daughter of residents)

This residential home was bought by a new owner at the end of 2012. Since then, much refurbishment has been occurring with both fitments and decor being done to a high, modern and homely (where feasible) standard. My parents wishes and as much of their own furniture, pictures, ornaments and personal belongings have been accommodated as possible. The management and staff have been kind and considerate to my parents and supportive towards myself and other family members. We greatly appreciate the peace of mind they have given.

Review of Ancaster House on Wednesday 5 June 2013 by Iain Cuthbertson (Volunteer)

I have been a volunteer visitor to the home since early 2011 and have found the staff to be very welcoming to myself and caring towards the residents. Each time that I have visited the residents seem very relaxed and happy. It is a real pleasure to visit Ancaster House. The home is set in lovely gardens. The communal areas have had a facelift and the bedrooms are being upgraded. The site of the home has good access and a lot of visitor parking.

Review of Ancaster House on Wednesday 29 May 2013 by Stella Franklin (Daughter of resident)

The happy, warm, friendly atmosphere at Ancaster House is evident as soon as you step in the door. Visitors are welcomed like family, made to feel at home, and always offered refreshments (usually including lovely home baking). All of the staff are kind, attentive and caring and take the time to get to know the residents really well, and to pass on information to relatives. A major programme of refurbishment has recently been completed to a very high standard in the home, the new d├ęcor and furnishings are lovely. My mum has an ensuite room with a French window overlooking stunning gardens with a distant view of the Ochil Hills. She loves to sit by her window watching birds feeding at the nearby bird table. Residents are encouraged to participate in outings and social activities wherever possible. The food is wonderful and mealtimes are lively social occasions. It brings great peace of mind to know that your elderly loved one is receiving the highest possible standard of care in such beautiful surroundings.

Review of Ancaster House on Saturday 18 May 2013 by Brendan Quin (son of resident)

Having perused a number of other homes within the area I felt that Ancaster House offered the best option in meeting our needs. The manager and staff are very friendly and caring and try their best to accommodate each individual. Every effort is made to help residents and their visitors feel relaxed, the emphasis being they want everyone to feel that Ancaster is their home (not a care home). As a frequent visitor the homebaking goes down a treat! Overall I would recommend Ancaster to anyone looking for this kind of facility. Ongoing improvements to the facilities also help the overall feeling of the home.
