Review of Blar Buidhe Care Home, Stornoway, Western Isles (Eilean Siar) by Keith R (Resident)
Tuesday 8 November 2011
As a young man 55, I was admitted to Blar Buihde due to former wife being unabole to care for me. I came to home, blind, with cronic terminal desease and mental health problems. On top of it all I had decided against Doctors advice to cease taking necessary Morphine Medication amongst others, and arrived in severe withdrawal symtoms. The homme manager Jane Pearson immediatley recognised the DT's and began a careful and for all staff labour intensive treatment programme to make me aware of dangers I was putting self in. A year on I am sett;ed on having tried an unsuccessful trial at rehabilitation in a home of mine own in community. But plan failed due to Community Nurses being unable to fulfill their part of agreed Care Package. Despite this Jane ensured transition back into home was smooth and is working to improving my life her in Stornoway.
