Meadowbank Care Home is located in Londonderry's Waterside suburb and is convenient for shops, amenities and public transport, yet is close to countryside also. This purpose built home offers nursing care for adults with learning disabilities. Accommodation at Meadowbank is offered in single occupancy rooms, a couple of which are spacious enough for sharing. At Meadowbank we have experience of dealing with a variety of issues arising from caring for people with learning disabilities and those with associated sensory deficits or physical disabilities. In addition some may at times display challenging behaviour. However, whatever the need, care is delivered with patience, kindness and understanding. We have a diversional therapist, whose role involves encouraging each resident to take part in structured activities appropriate for their abilities. Residents are assisted to visit local facilities and make use of the wide range of public services available. We have a specially designed multi-sensory environment aimed at relaxing and stimulating residents who, due to their sensory deficits or other difficulties, cannot meet these needs through conventional means. The home can also arrange for physiotherapy, podiatry and aromatherapy. Personal laundry services are provided in-house. Appetising and nourishing meals with varies menus are served in our dining rooms. |
