The Review Score of 9.398 for St Rita's Care Home is based on 14 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.931 for St Rita's Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (149 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 159 Ratings = 4.931

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.467 for St Rita's Care Home is calculated as follows:

      1. 14 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 14 Positive Reviews = 1.400 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (14 Positive Reviews ÷ 60 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.467

My mum has been at St Rita's for two years and I have nothing but praise for the care she has been given. All the residents are treated with care, kindness and compassion. It doesn't matter what time of the day you visit, the staff are welcoming and friendly. My mum's condition fluctuates and she is often anxious and upset about her confusion, but the staff are always reassuring but not patronising. Mum has her hair done by the hairdresser every week and always appears well groomed and looks well. We are all very grateful to St Rita's for their exceptional care.

My wife was diagnosed with vascular dementia in Oct. 2012 and has been resident in St Rita's since late February 2014. Compared to an earlier home St Rita's is a purpose built facility with wide corridors, good lighting, and superior facilities with well laid out en-suite rooms, small lounges if required and good main lounge adjacent to a well laid out restaurant, which serves appetising meals. The home is well managed with the present incumbent often visible, having a hands on attitude. I cannot fault the staff i have been in contact concerning my wife's illness, always kind, informative and considerate. My wife seems happy and contented.

I am very happy to recommend St Rita's. The staff are friendly and caring and appear to be very well trained. It is reassuring to have nurses on site. They take the time to know the residents individually and support them. They are usually on hand to help with any queries that the family members may have.

St Rita's is one of the three care homes, all recently built. Each care home (St Rita's, St Mary's, St Clare's) have 60 patients on two floors. Each patient has their own room which has it's own WC and bathroom. There is a superb kitchen for each home with full staff and chef.
The food is of the highest standard. There are numerous rest rooms, all with televisions. The corridors are air conditioned. But above all is the 'care'. It is outstanding with an atmosphere of love, respect and professionalism. there are plenty of nurses and carers.

My father was admitted to St Rita's Care Home 21/10/15. During this time at the care home I was so impressed by the fantastic level of care and support given to dad in his dying days. This was also extended to the family and friends who visited. To witness such inspiring care of elderly mentally ill patients has made me realise that I would like to volunteer in any way practical should it be possible in the new year. Once again my heart felt thanks to you all with very best wishes.

I recommended St Ritas unconditionally. My father and I visited, and have used a number of care homes for my mum who has Alzheimer's. We will be forever grateful to have found the wonderful St Ritas. The staff, led by the exemplary, warm and professionalism, are all really engaged and it is obvious that the patients are treated with respect, dignity and real care. It gave us hope that for my mums last few years, she could not be in better hands. Thank you everyone at St Ritas.

All residents are greeted by name and with a smile by all members of staff. Visitors are greeted cheerfully, again with a smile. The care home is spotlessly clean, light and airy. Minor problems are swiftly and efficiently dealt with. Mealtimes are celebrations and family and friends are warmly welcomed to join in. Each resident receives a homemade birthday cake and birthdays are celebrated and enjoyed by all. Food is presented in an attractive way and there is good variety and choice.

My dear mother died at St Rita's nursing home in June last year. She had a wonderful four and a half years at the nursing home. The care she received on every level was first class. The staff are all amazing from manager to office administrator to staff nurse to carer to cleaner to chef laundry ladies to maintenance men. Everyone has time to talk to you and you are always made to feel so welcome. Even though my mum died over six months ago, I still return every month to arrange flowers in the dining room and reception areas. It gives me pleasure to go back and see all the familiar faces. I could not recommend highly enough.

Cannot fault standard of care. All staff are so kind and helpful. Surely one of the best care homes around. More like an up market hotel - St Rita's excels in all areas.

We looked at many care homes before placing our aunt aged 100 in St Ritas. It is by far the best care home in the area. The home is always spotlessly clean no unpleasant smells. Residents are always well dressed, well presented and clean. The care given by the staff to residents is excellent. Some staff go well beyond their call of duty. Kindness and compassion are evident. The food is well presented, nutritious and varied. Management is always willing to take over any concerns regarding health and welfare if and when necessary. Doctor always promptly consulted if residents become unwell and called if necessary.

The staff at St Rita's nursing home for patients with dementia are truly excellent. They always have time to care and speak with residents. Staff excelled themselves right from initial viewing and over the last 2 1/2 years. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending St Rita's for the loving care of the elderly.
