The Review Score of 9.436 for St Pauls Care Centre is based on 27 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.822 for St Pauls Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (269 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 321 Ratings = 4.822

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.614 for St Pauls Care Centre is calculated as follows:

      1. 27 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 27 Positive Reviews = 2.700 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (27 Positive Reviews ÷ 88 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.614

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). We, the family all agree to the wonderful care and attention my brother has received since being in this care home and was given weeks to live in July 2015, he has got on amazingly. All the staff are friendly, caring and attention to personal dignity is paramount. Activities bring about a friendly and happy environment to all. We are greeted at the front reception with a happy smiling receptionist every day.

I felt highly anxious and sad when I realised we could no longer care for our elderly father between us, at home. He has vascular dementia and alzheimers. He has only known the family home and been surrounded by a large family and friends all his life. Care homes can be daunting and scary; to imagine a loved one in. Dad has been at St Pauls for a month and I can honestly say I believe he has adapted well to his new 'home', as have we. This is all due to the care, kindness and flexibility of the management and their team, and the cleaners, who are welcoming and compassionate. I know dad is in good hands and we are able to visit whenever we want, which helps dad to adjust.

My partner came to St Paul's on July 25th, my partner was diagnosed with a certain amount of time to live. He was admitted too St Paul's. He was given only a few weeks to be with us. Now he is still here with us, so St Paul's must be doing something RIGHT. I always find he carers very helpful and cheerful, that is why my partner has settled in so well. I visit most afternoons and everyone is so very nice to me as well.

I have filled this in as my husband has advanced dementia, he has been in St Pauls for 3 weeks. I have found St Pauls to have a very good and caring team of nurses and carers. They are very respectful and gentle in sometimes very challenging situations. The head nurse is professional and always knows what is going on. We are always made to feel welcome. My only complaint is that my husbands room smells strongly of urine- it was like this when we arrived.

St.Pauls offers excellent Care and Management.

Management are always "an open door policy' for conversation........even faults.
There have been many learning curves since the home opened. However, what sets them apart from other homes is it's Management style. The Management is strong. It genuinely listens and seeks to improve continually. This is refreshing.

The Care is excellent. My Mother is now the longest remaining Dementia resident since coming here in 2009. She is settled, safe and I am extremely happy knowing she is receiving the best care possible.

I Highly Recommend St Pauls Care Home.

My step father has been living at St Pauls Care Centre for several months now. My mother visits every day and I come in approx. once per week. I am very impressed with all the staff at the home and the care they provided, always with consideration and with dignity. I am impressed that the care and consideration is also extended to the "complete" family unit i.e. visiting family. My mother was involved at Christmas and enjoyed spending the whole day there. There is a family feel. The residents are safe and happy, always clean, well fed, respected and looked after/out for her. Would recommend.

Staff looking after my mother are outstanding. They are deeply caring, pro-active, kind, sensitive, understanding and supportive to her needs and welfare. Above all, they are extremely polite, courteous, friendly and cheerful with high morale, expectations and standards.
The facilities and resources are excellent too, as are all the personal services such as bathing, cleaning, dressing, hygiene and close monitoring of any health needs. I have only the greatest praise for the staff here, and their attentive care, love and affection for my mother.

My 89 year old wife, has been a resident at St. Pauls care centre for about 8 months, and I am more than pleased with the care she is getting here. The carers both men, woman and all the staff employed could not be more caring and considerate of the residents needs. I regard the care given at St Pauls to be as near perfect as you can get.

Mum is 96 and was admitted to St Pauls to receive palliative care. This was our first experience of a nursing home and we were uncertain about what to expect. We are delighted with the care mum is receiving at St Pauls! We could not have wished for a nicer or safer environment for mum, we would definitely recommend St Pauls to other families looking for a good nursing home.
