    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.109 for St Michael's Court is calculated as follows:

      1. 9 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 9 Positive Reviews = 0.900

Finding a permanent residential placement for a family member is an extremely difficult decision and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate that St Michael's Court were able to accommodate our Mother. My husband works for an ambulance service and was familiar with the facilities. Therefore this was the only home that we were willing to consider due to its high standards, facilities and welcoming staff. The manager and staff have been extremely supportive and helpful, making the process as smooth as possible for our Mother and us.

My mother has been a resident at St Michaels Court for two years. We looked at a lot of care homes before selecting St Michaels, staff are very helpful and treat mum with dignity and understanding mum has alzheimers. I turn up unannounced and the rooms are being cleaned, lunch being served. All looks very good. Staff are very approachable and happy for them to care for my mother.

The care team at St Michaels work very hard and show great kindness to try and meet the needs of each resident. The management are very open and approachable , actively encouraging residents families to give feedback on their care. They take a highly accommodating approach to individual needs and preferences. My father is on the residential floor and has a lovely sunny room with French doors opening onto the garden. There are activities for those who choose to join in, but equally quiet spaces for people who prefer their own space. All the staff are good and some are truly wonderful.

My husband went into St Michael's Court in June 2014. From the start he was treated with care and kindness and understanding. The staff have always treated me in the same way, which in the circumstances was much appreciated. On the odd occasion I have had a concern I was listened to by the management and felt I was not being a nuisance. He seems quite content most of the time and still has his sense of humour! I go and see him every day and am always made to feel welcome by the staff.

My mother was taken into the care home in late 2014 with severely progressive MS. Her room is spacious, light and hygienic. The staff are kind and thoughtful. This is a place where they really make an effort. Under the circumstances, this is the best place she could be in.
