For the last 2.5 years Marnel have provided a safe comfortable and incredibly caring environment for my mother and father. Mum died about 18 months ago and Dad stayed on at Marnel. They were very supportive of him and we had no need to worry about his well being. The level of care he received at the end of his life could not have been better and they helped us cope with what could have been a very distressing time for everyone.

This was the biggest decision we've ever made. So worried dad wouldn't be settled or happy. Nothing further from the truth. Dad settled in very quickly and he enjoyed living at Marnel. My family never thought it possible that a care home could be better than dad's own home and we are all so happy. The staff are so kind.

This home has been the best I have ever been to and there is no slight comparison from the services delivered in other homes. All residents are well catered for and given the best hospitality one could have ever expected. From the moment a service user gets up they live a dream come true due to their well treatment in all endeavors. The home has been of great service to both the residents and to the community at large. All my warm regards to the people who are behind this success and all activities that run daily at the home.

On a recent family gathering, a member of staff went out of her way to provide us with a memorable visit. We were given our own sitting room, refreshments were on hand and we could stay as long as we wanted. We almost felt as if we were in our own home. My relatives are very impressed with the warmth and friendliness of the staff.

From the initial inspection visits it was obvious that this is a well organised and friendly care home. The staff were professional and sympathetic in assisting the move from hospital to residential care. Both staff and management seem well trained and are outstanding in their attitude to their work. The home is clean and well furnished with regular activities and good attention to detail for the residents well being. It has an all round good friendly, homely atmosphere.

Marnel Lodge is a well furnished home with caring helpful staff. We also have lots of activities and the food is also good with a good choice of menu.

My father has recently passed away whilst in Marnel Lodge, after nearly 5 months in the home. He and my mother wanted to be together in the last months of his life in a pleasant caring environment. In his final days, the staff were so professional, empathetic and supportive, to ensure dad was comfortable and pain free, thereby ensuring a most dignified passing in private with his family around him. We were all touched by how kind everyone was. They became our extended family.

Marnel Lodge, is, by far, the best care-home I have ever seen. My mother-in-law lives there. The rooms are lovely and all en-suite. If she wants she can stay in her room and have her (3 course) meals delivered to her room or eat in one of the 2 dining rooms which are well designed and welcoming. Family can stay for meals too. The staff are all caring and considerate. The residents can join in many of the activities and trips out. Or not if they don't want to. My husband and I would love to end our days in a place like this.

Despite my mother's dementia and associated confusion she has really good days and on her bad days the Staff help me to cope with the stress this causes me. This together with the fact that the previous 3 years of being on call constantly by the carers and even the police while she was in her own home took a big toll on my husbands and my life. Well Marnel Lodge has given me and my family back a life for us and a location that her grandchildren and great grandchildren can visit and like, some of whom she had not seen because she was so far away from us. We are now confident that she is safe,well cared for and fed and watered to her hearts content. Without the help and support of the whole staff at this really traumatic time I dont know what we would have done. First Class in every way.
