For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.
0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)
(Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.
(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

How Likely are the Reviewers to Recommend Moorland Gardens Care Home?
Reviewer Connection to Moorland Gardens Care Home
Review submitted from a Postal Card by Jackie H (Daughter of Resident/Service User) on Wednesday 28 October 2015. Review relates to October 2015.
I was worried when mum had to go into a care home due to deterioration in her dementia. I had my reservations as there is a lack of basic care for dementia in all areas of health service and the community. I dreaded the moment but her room is nice and clean. There is no smell in the care home that you usually get and its not run down the kitchen is also hygienic and meals are good, taking into account what she can eat which they adhered to. The staff are very friendly and professional. We've had our questions and concerns which is natural and have been reassured. They are so caring towards mum. Making sure all her needs are met. I would dare not believe it but she is safe, clean and looked after which makes all the difference. Although when the time came when she needed 24 hr residential care it was a big impact, also on the family to which they have been very understanding too. Mum has been here for 5 yrs.
