Dad was in for respite for four weeks and subsequently decided to move in permanently. His apartment is spacious, clean and warm, and I personally have had nothing but positive interactions with everyone who works there. They do a great job, managing sometimes difficult situations and most importantly,
he is happy there and we know he is in a safe environment.

Let's begin: It's not home!
However you have managed to create an acceptable substitute. The home is comforable, welcoming. The staff are helpful and friendly.
Obviously depending on which room you have but mine was much more spacious & comfortable than I expected.

My parents have both lived here for more than a year, mum in memory care and dad in assisted living. We initially chose Beaconsfield Heights based on the vibe on our first visit - everyone there is very friendly and welcoming and we are very happy we chose this home for our parents.
The staff have
treated mum and dad with great compassion and kindness, and have helped them spend quality time together and to maintain their relationship as they each progress through their dementia journey at a different speed and in a different way. It really has been wonderful to see mum and dad so well cared for.
Reply from Diana Boffin, Client Liaison Manager at Beaconsfield Heights Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for the wonderful review. It has been our pleasure to look after your mum and dad and to support the family over the last few years. All our staff work hard to ensure a high level of care is given to our residents and it's lovely to see that acknowledged. We will ensure the kind comments are passed onto the team.

Mum has spent the last three months at Beaconsfield heights after my brother sister and me realised we could no longer look after mum at home. I was extremely sceptical having little experience of care homes. How wrong was I. I really could not believe the high standards here. The accommodation
was spotlessly clean, spacious and luxurious. The catering has variety and compares to the best restaurants. The entertainment is excellent and there is something planned twice a day. By far the best aspect of the home is the care. The staff are angels, nothing is too much trouble. Despite mum's frailty she could still manage a slow shuffle with a frame. Although it would have been so much easier for the staff to keep her in a wheelchair they persisted with the frame so mum had a little exercise. During one visit I saw a carer notice that one of the guest's hair was a little untidy. She reappeared a couple of minutes later with a hairbrush and tenderly brushed the hair back into shape

We have found the team at Beaconsfield to be excellent. Having looked at a few care homes, the team at Beaconsfield were found to be much more engaging with the residents, motivating and caring. Staff are always on hand, they seem to know each of the residents very well and and take the time to chat
to them. A good range of activities take place regularly and my mam is active in things I never expected from her. The restaurant and food are really good and cakes / tea etc in constant supply. The care home always answer the phone straight away, its not a call centre, its the reception desk located in the main lobby of the home, and they action any requests or concerns really well . I have found the whole team to be very supportive in what is obviously a really difficult time when a loved one needs to move into a residential care setting.

My mother has recently become a resident at Beaconsfield Heights. From the initial communication around choosing a care home through to mum moving in, the whole team were supportive, empathetic and genuinely welcoming during a challenging time for all of us to navigate.
The atmosphere is always friendly
and positive and the activities everyday give a purpose for the residents. Being new to this stage of life, we continue to ask questions as to how everything works from nursing care to personal care. The staff are always proactive in their responses and have a "can do attitude" in every department.
So far so good. Thank you.

Putting Mum into a care home was not an easy decision to make but from the very first day we knew it was the right one. Due to the kindness, respect and attentiveness shown to Mum by all staff members she settled in very quickly. The atmosphere at the home is extremely welcoming and offers a range of
fun and engaging activities. Communication with the family is good and I now have peace of mind that Mum is in a safe and nurturing environment. I should leave the last few words to Mum who said "Everyone here is so kind to me, they are always smiling and can't do enough for you".

Mum had been to visit the home a few times before becoming a resident and it was a good opportunity for her and I to get to know the staff and home. Her move was unexpectedly from hospital so the familiarity helped her settle in. The staff are very caring and meet Mum's needs, allowing her to take her
time and do things at her own pace. I feel she is relaxed and safe.

The experience of initially visiting Beaconsfield Heights Care Home and then the rather challenging "moving in" day for my mother was made significantly better by the kindness of the team at the home.
Through her first six months, I have been impressed by how smoothly things operate and how she has
settled in and seems much more relaxed.
The multitude of different activities is a definite highlight.
The security of the dementia floor is also a great weight off my mind, in terms of her safety.

My 95-year-old mother moved into Beaconsfield Heights Care Home at the end of July after a difficult year or so in her own home. Even with carers visiting three times a day, she was finding it increasingly hard to cope. It was so hard for her to move from the house she lived inf or sixty-three years
but after and initial, very wobbly few days, she has settled into her new life. She loves all the activities, the company, the food and is very happy she is being so well looked after - as are we! Thank you to all the staff who have helped my mother through this difficult period of transition.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.902)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.902) out of 10 for Beaconsfield Heights Care Home - Avery Collection is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.902 for Beaconsfield Heights Care Home - Avery Collection is calculated as follows: ( (269 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 297 Ratings = 4.902
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beaconsfield Heights Care Home - Avery Collection is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 95 registered maximum number of service users is 19, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

After working as a Pharmacy Technician for 10 years, I decided to follow my heart and move into the care sector. Joining the home as a Care Assistant in 2019, I have been able to develop my career, becoming a Senior Carer, Wellness Co-Ordinator and at the beginning of 2024, I was delighted to be offered the position of Residential Care Manager.

Working alongside my team of incredible carers, we strive to deliver exceptional person-centred care to every resident every day. A busy, varied and hugely rewarding position which I feel privileged to hold.

I am very proud to be part of the team here at Beaconsfield. We always ensure that we deliver five-star service in every department, this was particularly highlighted throughout the pandemic as we recognised it was such a difficult time for residents, families and the staff.

The team spent a lot of time re-assuring residents and kept them mentally and physically stimulated and of course, our resident's safety was and is still the top priority. Our Concierge team run evening activities such as Cheese & Wine nights, Bingo and Quizzes which our residents love! I work closely with residents and their families to ensure that all enjoy dining experiences and that each resident has a nutritional meal plan to suit their needs.

I joined the Beaconsfield Heights team as an Activities Assistant, where I developed a strong passion for enhancing the daily lives of our residents, through engaging and meaningful activities. I am now delighted to have been promoted to the position of Activities Manager. As Activities Manager I am driven to provide all of our residents with a person centred approach to their day, taking time to get to know every resident, who they are, what is important to them and enabling us to offer tailored, enjoyable and purposeful activities. I am supported by a wonderful team, who share my passion and form genuine and caring relationships with all of our residents and their families and friends.
