My wife has been in Hunters care Home since Novermber 2025, she is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, during this time she has been well looked after. She has her own bedroom, which includes a wardrobe and a chest of drawers as well as her bed and a nice comfortable chair.
The carers are all excellent,
caring and professional.
Although I wish my wife could be home, I have no worries about her being at Hunters Lodge Care centre Codsall.

Dad wasn't all that happy about having to go into care but that all changed with these wonderful people. His carer really bonded with my dad (Both being of Yorkshire Origin) and for the remaining months of his life he was happy.
Reply from Ravi Patel, CEO at The Hunters Lodge Care CentreThank you for your wonderful review. It is so lovely to hear how your dad, although reluctant to enter into care found the experience really positive, and formed a bond with his carer and friend, who originated, just like him from Yorkshire. It must also offer you some comfort knowing he was happy and well cared for.

Reviews like yours offer reassurance to others needing to enter care, to feel confident that all will be well. Thank you again!

My mom has been a resident at The Hunters Lodge Care Centre since July 2022. It was not an easy decision to make, putting a loved one into care. However, from the minute we walked through the door, I knew I had made the right decision. The home is situated in beautiful surroundings, the facilities are
brilliant, it's clean and the staff are wonderful. My mom is extremely well cared for and the staff have taken the time to understand her complex needs, ensuring she receives the best possible care. After years of caring for her at home, I am actually able to take a step back, knowing she is being looked after so well. Thank you everyone at The Hunters Lodge Care Centre for your ongoing support and hard work.
Reply from Ravi Patel, CEO at The Hunters Lodge Care CentreThank you for your wonderful review, it is heart-warming and reassuring to hear your thoughts about the care Mum receives and the environment she lives in.
The manager and staff work hard to provide good quality care and a clean well-managed environment.
I will ensure I pass your review on to the manager and her staff.
Thank you again.

I got lost on my way to the care centre on my first visit to my Mum on Kitwood. I was walking from the train station. It was wet and miserable and I was running out of time. I called the unit for directions and everyone was so kind to me - in the end, a staff member came to pick me up. When I got to
see my Mum, I was so upset - again I could feel the warmth from everyone. It's such a difficult time. My mum has been in several places recently, but I have never felt so welcome, even though my visit was short. If they are as kind to her as they were to me then I know they are good, caring and compassionate - and that's all that really matters now.

My nan has been a resident here for the last 6 months, she couldn't be happier here. The staff go above and beyond and always go the extra mile for any needs. The staff have the most excellent mannerisms I've seen, so helpful and welcoming. The place is so clean throughout and spacious. My Nan previously
suffered a fall, prior to going into the home and the staff have been amazing, getting her confidence up and getting her back on her feet.
Reply from Ravi Patel, CEO at The Hunters Lodge Care CentreI really appreciate your comments. We need all the encouragement to make sure that all of our residents get the best care, especially since it’s been very hard at times, due to COVID.

My grandmother is currently at Hunter’s Lodge care home at “The Terrace”. She has just turned 100 and the staff have been wonderful from day one. The care home is set in lovely grounds with great views and is clean, safe and welcoming, with large rooms, so feels very spacious. All staff that I have
encountered, have been friendly, dedicated, professional and caring. The staff have just held a 100th celebration (COVID secure obviously!) and Nan told us she had the most fantastic day. Nails painted, presents, balloons, cake etc. When we took her presents over, she looked even younger, so that says a lot about the marvellous care she receives. Thank you to all the hardworking staff and keep up the good work!

Hunters Lodge is an excellent care home, set in scenic surroundings, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whenever we visit, my father is always happy and well cared for, in a clean and well-organised environment. The staff are second to none; they have taken the time to get to know my fathers needs
to ensure he receives the best care possible. Communication is fantastic, during the lockdown, regular FaceTime calls were instigated by the home, and we are kept fully informed of any changes. Thank you to all at Hunters Lodge for your continued support and hard work.

I was a little bit worried when my mam was moved over to during the lockdown in January and was not able to meet staff, but making our visits (window) I soon realised Mam was going to be ok and I didn't need to worry so much. Staff appear to be extremely professional and extremely caring. Thank you
to all the staff for making my mam cared for.

Mom has been here at Hunters Lodge, for 4 years now, is very affected by her Alzheimer’s, but remains very happy and content. The staff treat her with care and compassion, care for her needs very well, and make it very easy for me to not worry about her when I am not able to be there. She was in a care
home before this, but I am so thankful that we found The Hunters and got her settled in. I don’t doubt that we still have her with us because of their excellent care. Thank you so much.

My knowledge of The Hunters Lodge concerns The Terrace where a friend of mine is a resident. He is extremely well cared for and has a pleasant airy room. The food he receives has always been of the highest standard. His personal cleanliness is excellent and his clothes are always well laundered. His
medical care has always received immediate attention, but above all else, the kindness of the carers is truly amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Activities are numerous and well thought out. The Hunters Lodge is a happy home, kept immaculately clean and all matters are dealt with a strict code of total fairness.

My mum has been a resident at Hunters Lodge, Kitwood 1 for over 4 years. She has been well looked after and is happy in her environment. The management and careers are very good, have a very good relationship with mum and make me feel welcome every time I visit. Hunters Lodge is a forward-thinking home,
with improvements being made all the time. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Hunters Lodge to anyone needing to find a home for there loved ones.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.056)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.056) out of 10 for The Hunters Lodge Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for The Hunters Lodge Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.056 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Hunters Lodge Care Centre is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 18 = 0.056
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
