Context: my Mum moved to Romford care home from York. She is now round the corner from me instead of 250 miles away. I'm overjoyed at how my Mum has been accepted into the Romford Care Home family, she is happy and content living with Dementia with the amazing support and compassion of the team on Raphael's
and the wider team there. She's only been there a week and already the change in her is huge, her depression is lifting, she is being physically cared for and is eating, drinking and clean. She feels safe and secure and welcome and that's made all the difference to her. The activities are daily and enjoyable and the atmosphere feels like family should feel.
Now I also feel like a huge worry has been lifted and am able to actually enjoy spending time with her and the other residents and team instead of firefighting, and feeling like I'm fighting against the tide to get her what she needed to live at home safely. I'm so pleased I get to be with her in her reality happily. Thank you x

My mother is a resident at this wonderful care home.

It is spotlessly clean, has spacious, comfortable rooms and excellent facilities.

The staff are incredible - the front office (reception, customer service, administration) are all very efficient whilst also being very open and friendly. They value

our input and make us feel like family - community is an intrinsic part of the home's ethos, and the place has a wonderful atmosphere because of this. The carers are all wonderful - warm, friendly, patient and very focused on the residents' well-being and dignity at all times. The events team provide a vast, inventive variety of daily activities for the residents, who always have something fun to do, and this is very important. Whilst I haven't tasted it myself, I'm told the food is of a very high standard.

It is a huge relief for my wife and I to know that now that we are no longer able to care for her at home, my mother is receiving the very best of care at this exceptional residence.

My Mum and Dad are both in Romford Care home and I am very impressed at the level of care given. Everyone is professional as well as friendly and they have become part of our extended family. I can sleep soundly at night knowing my parents are being well looked after. My Dad' health deteriorated suddenly
and their response to helping him was second to none. Highly recommended.

Dad is a resident for palliative care. As he has deteriorated he has been given more and more care which is just what we expected. The nursing and care staff have been excellent. Mum is also a resident. She has Parkinson's and the entertainment/activities staff have done a great job adjusting to her
abilities and getting her involved. The admin team are also friendly and efficient. The whole atmosphere is very welcoming. I would highly recommend Romford Care Home.

I have to say, I experienced an excellent time, since my dad was omitted into this care home, friendly, attentive staff, nothing too much trouble, communication. First class, facilities top draw too. Couldn't have wished for a better resting place for my father, we as a family are very thankful he's
there.

Cleanliness great spotless My mum has been getting home cooked Indian meals thanks to the kitchen staff.
The activities schedule is great I've joined in a few times.I can take my doggy to visit my mum as well.
After a constant battle with my local authority which caused upset and stress to my mum I am so grateful that my mum is cared for there.I saw many homes before as she was being evicted from hospital and believe me some of them were horrendous made me cry.

I have visited Romford Care Home on numerous occasions and quietly observed staff go above and beyond for their residents wellbeing, which i found comforting and reassuring. A secure environment where residents feel safe (especially those with dementia). Engaging activities, good food and a warm clean
environment, and all input received openly. When and if I am in need, I hope I stay in an environment like Romford Care Home. Well done RCH, keep up the good work.

My mum has been living in romford care center, for just over a year. Mums needs are much more complex, than what shows at face value and the staff have been so helpful and attentive. Mum can be difficult and she is very scared of what her future looks like, and everyone shows patients and understanding.
Most places I visited, I felt that mum wouldn't feel like she was being stimulated, but here, it is very social, and they are encouraged to do something everyday. All staff that I am in contact with have been so helpful and supportive to us both.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.858)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.858) out of 10 for Romford Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 52 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.858 for Romford Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (532 Excellents x 5) + (75 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 613 Ratings = 4.858
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Romford Care Home is based on 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 114 registered maximum number of service users is 22.8, which has been reached with 52 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
