Job summary

Challenge Fundraising Assistant – 12 week Temporary role.

Our Events and Community Fundraising team is responsible for encouraging supporters to take part in challenge and sporting events, as well as organise their own fundraising events and activities within their communities. We provide extensive support to all of our fundraisers and pride ourselves on our stewardship programme.

We have recently developed a student fundraising programme with great success. The focus of our programme is the promotion of the Inca Trek challenge. The Challenge Fundraising Assistant will support the Events and Challenges Fundraising Officer to develop our student fundraising programme. They will do this by strengthening existing relationships, building new relationships with student organisations and providing a high level of support to our student fundraisers to ensure they reach all fundraising targets and deadlines.

This position would benefit anyone interested in developing a career within the charity sector. It is likely to appeal to someone with previous fundraising experience, who can confidently and enthusiastically talk to students about our work and why they should support us.

Person Specification

•   A good understanding of fundraising and/or student fundraising
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•   Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
•   Ability to work anti-social hours (evenings and weekends when required) and travel throughout the UK for meetings, conferences and events.
•   Self-motivating as well as being able to work well in a team environment
•   A strong networker and confident presenting to large groups of people
•   Good IT skills
•   Ability to understand and manage financial information

Other information

The temporary position is paid at a wage of £6.83 per hour.

The post is 30 hours a week for 12 weeks. Some flexibility will be required in relation to working days and locations.
