Mayfair Lodge

from N T (Son of Resident) published on 6 May 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother became a resident of Mayfair Lodge a couple of months ago due to Alzheimers and my Father who is 93 and in failing health himself could no longer give Mum the care and attension that she requires. Choosing a Care home for a loved one is a difficult and stressful business, especially when trying
to ensure the right environment, level of care and compassion by staff. We were so fortunate that after visiting a number of Care Home facilities in Hertfordshire Mayfair Lodge our number one choice had a place for Mum. Everyone from Front Reception staff to Care and Support workers are welcoming to guests and residents alike. My wife and I have got to know the staff over the past few weeks and we can see how hard they work to ensure a high standard of care for the residents.
Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Mayfair LodgeThank you for sharing your experience. We understand how difficult it can be to choose the right care for a loved one, and we're so pleased you felt confident in selecting Mayfair Lodge. It's wonderful to hear that our team has been welcoming and that you've seen the care and dedication they provide every day. Your kind words mean a great deal so thank you so much again.

When I visit I am really impressed with the welcome and friendliness of the staff. There are lots of daily activities on the board which residents can take part in, and today there was an outing for lunch. My friend is very settled and happy here and enjoys taking part in the activities and meeting

Anson Court

from R C (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 April 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When Mum had to go into a care home as an emergency, it was one of the most distressing experiences I've ever been through. Everything happened so quickly, and neither of us felt prepared. Seeing Mum so overwhelmed and unsettled was heartbreaking, and I found it incredibly difficult to process everything
at the time.

However, from the moment we arrived, the care and compassion shown by the staff made a huge difference. They were not only kind and attentive to Mum, but they also supported me through what was an emotional and uncertain situation. I felt listened to, reassured, and never like I was facing it alone.

I want to especially mention Agle, Anna, and Coni, who went above and beyond during those first difficult days. Their warmth, patience, and genuine kindness helped Mum feel safe, and helped me begin to feel at ease knowing she was in good hands.

Now, just a week later, the difference is incredible. Mum is much more settled and even seems happy. She's eating well, engaging more.

Reply from John Joannides, Corporate Services at Anson CourtThank you for you kind review. We're so sorry that your mother, you and your family have had such a difficult time. We're so glad that the team at Anson Court were there to help and that they provided the care and support your mother needs. Your review will mean a great deal to the staff in the home. Thank you again!

I was so happy when my husband got into Anson Court full time, he was going to the day centre for 2 years, they were wonderful with the residents, played lots of games, made lovely little gifts to bring home. My beloved husband, who is physically disabled and has Alzheimer's Disease has been looked after by the staff at Anson Court for the past nine months. It took him a little time to settle, but with the help of the wonderful staff, who made every effort to get to know him and understand his dementia,
he is now comfortable and relaxed. I cannot praise the staff enough. Without exception they are kind gentle efficient and caring. They are well-trained and work competently together, to the benefit of the residents.
The food at Anson Court is excellent. Care is taken with the menus to ensure maximum nourishment, and meals are well presented, and appetising.
My husband's room looks out onto the garden, which he loves. His bedroom and bathroom are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition at all times.
Over the past nine months there have of course been occasions when I've had questions to ask but all my concerns have been treated seriously and dealt with satisfactorily.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother became a resident in January 2026; this is the 3rd home she's been to in 2 years. Melwood Grange offers mum a beautifully designed and comfortable room adjusted to her needs, comfortable communal areas. Every single member of the staff has been caring, supportive and friendly to mum and
her visitors. The care team encourage her to be her own person, but what they've achieved that the other care homes didn't is helping my mum build some new friendships. Medication is given correctly, when mum has needed a medic this has been arranged and reported back to us in a timely and professional manner. If you are seeking a comfortable caring home for a loved one with good communication I would highly recommend Melwood Grange.

Anson Court is a lovely, lovely home. Where the facilities, my room, the activities and entertainment and with love and care shown by the staff is second to none. The home is kept very warm, clean, and tidy. The new manager is lovely and seems very, very passionate about the love and care of the residents,
especially those with dementia. She even sings to the residents. I also love the garden.

My siblings and I did alot of research, 'shed blood sweat and tears' as they say to find mum a decent care home. We eventually managed to support mum to be a resident in Belmont View Care home in Haileybury for over 10 years up to 2026.
From the initial visit, we knew this place was different to all
the many others we had viewed; its was bright, fresh, homely..not hospital like.. a real family environment. Genuinely caring team members, who really care about their residents. The care, administrative and management team at Belmont are unbelievable the was they all work together, to offer an amazing service to the residents. Every need is catered for holistically and life at Belmont View is fun, relaxing and so homely. We called it our mums home from home. Sharon, Anette, Kelly, Maria, Gill, Nic, Michaela, Carla, Julie, Denise many more over the years and of course our most special ladies Harriet & Lauren to name but a few of the most amazing people we could have asked for.

Belmont View is excellent - Mum has been in for 2 weeks so far and has made a great improvement. She has been encouraged to eat, to walk and get involved in the activities. The care team are great, always respectful and caring.
The room is comfortable, and Mum is well rested and building her confidence
and strength. Thank you, team.

Mum has been with Vesta Lodge for just over 18 months now, and I can honestly say it is the most caring and supportive environment for the residents.
At all levels, from management to the care staff, there is a wealth of experience & knowledge relating to care for the older person. No request is too
difficult & I feel reassured that my mum is in safe hands.

Riverside Lodge

My Stepfather moved into Riverside Lodge April 2025. His room was on the 3rd floor with a view of St Marys Church. He has been so well looked after during this time, fed, clean and well taken care of. Staff are amazing especially Toska, Vivianna, Louise, Abbie, Fedosa and Teresa. The care home is
so well run by the manager, Agnes and her admin team - Sadie, Ruth, Amy, Sarah and Mason. There is always a smile from the staff when we arrive. The entertainment team are also very good at encouraging residents out of the room to take part in singalongs, events etc. Unfortunately my stepfather died two weeks ago but he has had the best last 11 months of his life that he could have had and in fact he has probably lived longer than if he had been at home. The care given wasn't just for my stepfather but to my family too. There have been many hugs over the last few weeks. Thank you to all the staff for your concern and care.
Reply from John Joannides, Corporate Services at Riverside LodgeWe're so sorry for the passing of your stepfather and thank you and your family for entrusting us with his care. It's so rewarding to hear that his time at Riverside Lodge was spent with such a caring team and that he was so well looked after. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for the home, it will mean a great deal to all the staff.

This was the first time I visited my sister at the home. I was greeted very professionally, shown how to sign in and then taken to see my sister. Overall a pleasant experience and much appreciated.
