Care Homes Owned by Woodlands & Hillbrow Ltd in Hampshire

My Dad has made Woodlands his home for the last six months following two weeks respite care. I was so relieved that he made the decision to stay as he was progressively becoming more dependent and unsafe at home. Since living at Woodlands he is happier, healthier and most importantly safe and cared for in every way by an excellent team of friendly, approachable staff. It is reassuring for me and Dad to see the same familiar faces too. It has been lovely to enjoy the summer bbqs, entertainment and beautifully kept gardens with him. The 50th year celebratory high tea was excellent! Donna has been so helpful since the first day we looked around and is always welcoming to family and friends when visiting. Thank you all

Throughout her time there, the staff have been caring and dedicated, responsive to our requests and kept us well informed of her care.

My mum came to live in Woodlands from hospital, initially for respite care. She had been very poorly on and off and had been in and out of hospital over the past eighteen months. She had been struggling at home and was becoming increasingly lonely and isolated. She has settled into Woodlands really well. The staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so kind. There are lots of activities, trips out and entertainment. The gardens are beautiful and such a lovely space to relax in. Woodlands is immaculately clean and there is always something going on. Mum has made new friends and is definitely enjoying the company and all the activities. I would highly recommend Woodlands. A wonderful place.

Mum is a long term resident at Woodlands and has recently declined in terms of her cognitive ability and mobility. As a result, her needs and moods have become more challenging, but the team that looks after have been excellent in dealing with these changes. Despite her frustrations she remains happy at the home and is always grateful for the care that she receives.

I have my lunch provided for me when I visit and we eat in her room as this is what she prefers. She is unable to participate in the many activities that go on but she is included as much as she can be through visits from the therapy animals and music therapist. Hill House staff always go the extra mile to make sure our mum is happy. She enjoys a chat and staff are very good at making sure this happens. I can't recommend Hill House enough if your parent or loved one needs nursing care.

We are grateful to all the staff, the activities team are upbeat and fun, the care team are attentive and kind, the nurses are caring and always give us time to discuss any concerns we have. The housekeeping and maintenance staff keep the home immaculate and the food is always good, especially the cakes! The home is a warm and friendly place with a real sense of community and life about it. We are always made to feel welcome from the minute we arrive at reception to when we leave. I'm so happy we found Hill House for Mum, I know she is well cared for and that is such a relief

Hill House is the second care facility that my father has been a resident of. I was unsettled by his first nursing home experience so was cautious when we first approached Hill House. From the very beginning of his care journey, the staff have been nothing short of excellent. They provide the level of care that you feel you would provide to your parent if they were to live with you. Huge effort is made to get to know them and their style of communication and every resident is treated with gentle care and respect. They also go to great lengths for relatives; my father wasn't able to attend our wedding and we were disappointed we couldnt celebrate with him. Hill House went to the most enormous efforts to put on a wedding celebration for is a few days later. They made us a wedding cake, decorated with our wedding colours and made the day extremely special. The team at HH made it possible for me to hold my father's hand as I walked down the aisle which I hadnt ever thought possible

Hill House is an extraordinary place that is clearly run with great care. Every time I visit it's clear just how much energy goes in to everything - not just the basics of caring for the residents, but also a great deal that happens to make life here interesting and comfortable.

The staff make this home what it is, and Hill House benefits enormously from employing all its staff directly so the staff and residents know each other well. It's very noticeable that everyone has time to stop and talk to the residents, getting to know them or sharing a joke, so that life here seems very homely, personal and intimate.

The best example of the incredible nature of Hill House was this summer when my partner and I got married. Hill House arranged a whole wedding celebration for us - complete with reception and a cake - so we could celebrate with my father in law. We were blown away by the effort they went to, just as we've been impressed so many times by the staff at Hill House.

Mum moved to Woodlands in May 2026. Fiercely independent and a reluctant resident to start despite the need for 24 hour care. She was unable to self medicate properly and cook and care for herself and became a risk to herself. It became apparently she had memory loss and was becoming isolated at home despite our best efforts to be with mum as much as we could. We looked at several care homes but none gave us that homely caring vibe. Mum has now settled well and is quite the character and a real chatterbox. Her health has stabalised despite her 97 years. She seems happy and says how kind the staff are. She is eating well and enjoys all the activities. No one wants to go in to care but if they do you cannot beat Woodlands for such a warm and caring environment. It's not all fancy and new but it's homely. Rooms are all different from huge to small but all are cosy, gardens stunning, loads to do and weekly activity plans. It's family run and it shows...don't let that change!

Hill Brow Residential Home - A Village with a Roof!

We arrived at Hill Brow Residential Home with the usual mixture of hope and trepidation. Would we settle in? Would we like it? Would we survive the food?

Well, we needn't have worried!

With around 30 residents, Hill Brow feels much more like a friendly little village than a residential home. You soon get to know people, there is always someone to have a chat with, and there's usually a good deal of laughter along the way.

The staff are wonderful - friendly, kind, patient and always ready to help. They seem to have mastered the difficult art of looking after people without making them feel as though they are being "looked after".

And the food deserves a special mention. It's varied, plentiful and genuinely enjoyable - which is important when eating is one of the main activities left to us!

There's a lovely, relaxed atmosphere at Hill Brow. Nobody pretends that growing older is always easy, but there is a real sense of community,

There is a lot of fun and laughter at the home. Mum still has a great sense of humour and regularly makes everyone laugh. There are daily activities that over time she has started to take part in. She particularly likes the quizzes and discussions that they all take part in. During the summer they have regular BBQ's and family members are encouraged to attend. It's become a home from home for me, I now know all of the staff, I visit mum 3 times a week & look forward to not only seeing her but everyone else at Hill Brow.

I find the staff are very good and caring to the residents and there's a lot of activities going on, the residents are always busy doing things. The home is very welcoming and always offer teas and coffees.

My husband has been a resident for one month and my family have found the care provided to be exemplary. The Carers have worked hard to increase his mobility and they show great patience and kindness towards him. The staff also extend these attributes to my family, making us feel part of the Hill House 'family'. The Nurses are very proactive in gauging the medication needs. Everyone is very approachable and I feel that I am kept informed of all aspects of my husband's daily life in the home. There are plenty of activities to stimulate the residents. To sum up, I have a warm feeling when I walk into the home.

Each week is full of activities and events. The gardens are beautifully kept and for us it is more of a feeling of not visiting Mum in a care home but visiting Mum at home.

My friend's mum has called this care home her home for nearly three years. The atmosphere is wonderfully warm and family oriented. The staff are exceptionally patient, friendly and genuinely caring. The meals are absolutely delicious, too! There is always something happening to keep residents engaged. The daily activities and organised outings give everyone something special to look forward to.

It's a huge decision and one now which we are so glad that we made. The staff are unbelievably caring and attentive to her needs. She has truly come back to life, getting involved with the activities, mixing with other residents and generally seeming better in herself. She celebrated her 97th birthday in care recently which was a joy to see. We have visited when woodlands have bbq's and cream-teas which has been wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend. I feel comforted in the fact that she is really looked after. Thank you Woodlands

Dad needed temporary respite care which ended up lasting 2 months before he moved to permanent accommodation. The admin team were very helpful and flexible even when we couldn't give them a firm date for how long Dad would stay. His room was comfortable, the nursing, care and reception staff were attentive and caring. Dad thoroughly enjoyed his time at Hill House and as a family we were always made very welcome each time we visited.

We are so happy that we chose Hill House for my mother-in-law. The home has such a lovely caring family vibe which we noticed as soon as we walked through the front door. The care shown to my mother in law has been exceptional particularly when her husband sadly passed away in March. Her health deteriorated at this time with grief but the support & care from the staff has brought her back to strength & she is very much enjoying life again. She is always included in the numerous activities & loves to go on outings. There are also regular family events that take place at Hill House which we have enjoyed sharing with her. An especially thoughtful touch was a lovely family birthday celebration prepared by the staff to mark her special day. Thank you to all the staff at Hill House.

Mum has been resident in Hill House for nearly two years. She was initially in the downstairs large lounge, then moved to upstairs where there is a smaller dementia unit for those that find it difficult to deal with lots of people and noise, which were affecting Mum. It is a lovely community with several ladies in a similar physical and mental condition. Everyone who works there does so because they enjoy it, they care. It has a wonderful, happy, caring atmosphere and everyone is so friendly. They put on a lot of meetings for relatives to gain feedback, and their social events allow residents and their families time to eat, drink, and enjoy music together.
