My mother has been a resident since September 2025, where I have seen her go from being quite ill and depressed to finally enjoying her life again. I am very upset to read a couple of the reviews as I cannot relate to the negativity that has been written, and would assume that the family member has
been moved to another home judging by what has been said. I always find all the staff to be friendly, accommodating and ready to listen, and very caring and professional towards all the residents, visitors and to each other. The atmosphere is great and, after having taken my mother out of her previous care home into Trent Bridge, I can honestly say it was the best decision I made. I confidently recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a safe, caring and respectful home for their loved ones.

This is a lovely place, the size of the bedrooms is huge. It's not like any other home I've been in and I've been in a few. I've been coming here since it opened. Everyone is so friendly. The patients are kept lovely, their nails are done, they have different clothes on every time. My friend has never
looked so well and that's because of the caring people looking after them. I tell everyone about this home.

Although it took my father a little time to settle, I must say York Manor Care Home exceeds all of my expectations. York Manor is second to none. The building is of a high standard extremely well maintained and very comfortable. My father is nearly 92 and has vascular dementia. He is always clean and
tidy and well cared for. He has gained 7kgs since moving in to York Manor which is outstanding.
The staff are wonderful with all the live ins. The activities they put on for the residents are truly wonderful. They are always ready to give 100%. I can not speak highly enough about all of them. As a family we had to make this hard decision and we are really blessed to have found York Manor.

This Is The Best Decision We Could Have Made.

Placing a loved one into a care home is never an easy decision, but choosing this home for my grandmother was by far the best decision we could have made. From the moment we walked in, there was an undeniable sense of warmth, care, and community.

The

staff are absolutely incredible - not only are they professional and attentive, but they genuinely care about the residents. You can see it in their actions, their smiles, and the way they interact with everyone. My grandmother feels safe, happy, and loved, which is everything we could have hoped for.

There's a true family feel here, and it's clear that this is more than just a place to live - it's a home. I'm so grateful for the peace of mind this has brought to our whole family.

To anyone who is struggling with this decision for their loved one, I wholeheartedly recommend this care home. It's an amazing place, and we couldn't be happier.

Everything great to begin with until bruises started to appear!! Home tried telling us it was age related! Documentation of incidents was terrible.
Moved relative to different home no bruises! Staff nowhere to be seen on bedroom corridors, so bedbound residents are left without care. On numerous occasions
I advised them that a resident was calling out and they replied by saying "oh they do that all the time" Staff are too busy congregating in reception instead of doing their jobs. Cleaning of bathrooms/rooms was constantly terrible (faeces visible on toilet and floor, even though I had been told the room had just been cleaned) and resident even left without a duvet on overnight on a number of occasions. Authorities intervened in the end. I would never recommend this home for your loved one.

Let's be honest, none of us want our loved ones to have to go into care, however, sometimes we have no other option. My relative spent some time at Hunters Creek. I have read the negative reviews but I have to say, in all honesty, my experience was quite the opposite. The reviews must have been taken
seriously as we did not have any issues. I found the home to be inviting and caring. The staff were wonderful. My relative was kept clean and treated with the utmost dignity. Us, as family members, were kept "in the loop" and were treated with care and compassion at all times.. I, sadly, have another family member who requires long term care, Hunters Creek will be my first choice.

Review of

Hunter's Creek Nursing Home

from Ashleigh W (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 22 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My grandad was looked after by the care team at Hunters within his last weeks of life, I can honestly say that they treated him like the amazing person he was from the start of his stay till the end of his life, the care was exceptional and couldn't fault them. The deputy manager Edgars was impeccable,
I was able to witness on multiple occasions his coming out of the office and make effort with residents (which isn't often found), and the duty of care and respect carried out towards us as a family let alone to my grandad was personally appreciated, as a team they worked brilliantly to tend to Grandad's needs, honestly couldn't have asked for him to receive better care, and I know that he would agree as he would tell us how he liked it there. I would just like to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much hunters creek!

Cedar Falls Nursing Home

From our first enquiry, to admitting my father - communication has been excellent. The staff are very polite and considerable to my father's family. All the staff we have come into contact with have been exceptional, their kindness and consideration has been above and beyond what we expected. The home
is splendid, welcoming and safe and secure.

Abbey Wood Lodge

from Katie P (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 22 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

I would not give this place even half star if it was an option.
DO NOT send your loved ones to Abbey wood Lodge, unless you want to be in a constant state of distress. Their senior and management team are an absolute disgrace. This review page and overall CQC ratings are based years old reports from
when different management was employed. They DO NOT care about residents ! (this does not apply to some of the actual care team who work with residents directly) The CEO is well aware of the severe failings of this place as he has been there recently himself. But as is 90% of the senior/management team he's about as useful as a wet paper bag.

Avocet House Care Home

from Andy F (Partner of Resident) published on 16 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Partner has dementia, previous home used for daytime respite would no longer take her, due to her wandering, toileting issues etc. Have now used Avocet House 3 times for 8 hours respite. Really impressed with the facilities, staff, friendliness and understanding shown. Also the flexibility of times,
which enabled me to attend evening events.

York Manor Care Home

from Emma B (Niece of Resident) published on 15 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

With York Manor being fairly new at the time our aunt moved in, we were hoping that it would be the right choice although there were few or no reviews to help make up our minds.
Sadly we didn't have the luxury of shopping around because of our aunt's situation but it has turned out to be the best
move in every respect.
From the word go, our aunt was welcomed in as one of the family - and it really does feel just that.
There is a real sense of belonging and community - they actively encourage you to join in with activities if you are able but it is done with a purpose, to promote health and wellbeing.
The residents always have a smile on their faces and for some who may not have family close by this is a blessing to see.
Residents are treats with the utmost care and respect and we couldn't
ask for more.

It's also heart warming to know that our team brings smiles to everyone's faces and that the quality of our care shines through. Thank you once again for your lovely words, we'll be sure to share them with all our team members.
