Overall Experience

As Powers of Attorney for our friend who went into Dawson Lodge in September 2024, we chose the Lodge because of its reputation and because it was highly recommended by relatives of a previous resident we knew personally. We have found the reputation well-founded, and our friend has received nothing

but great care and friendliness from all the staff since going there. She is very much regarded as an individual, not just a resident. Despite her many difficulties with dementia, she remains happy and well settled.

Overall Experience

My dad moved into Dawson Lodge over two years ago, and the support he has had from all the staff has been exemplary. Dad always tells us he is happy and comfortable. He enjoys the brilliant food provided by experienced and jolly kitchen staff alongside musical activities and visits from family. We all

appreciate the evolving care that dad receives as his condition progresses. Thank you to all at Dawson Lodge.

Overall Experience

My husband was always well cared for, it was clear all the staff had great affection and respect for him. My husband had dementia and despite this, they ensured he was clean and respectable. With encouragement he joined in the afternoon activities which initially he was reluctant to go because of his

deafness. I hope I will never need to go into a care home but if I do I hope its Dawson Lodge who I know would give good care.

Overall Experience

I can't rate Willow Gardens highly enough. Such lovely rooms, all kept so clean and tidy. The staff are all so kind and have plenty of time for the residents and are so welcoming. The management team have also been very helpful with dealing with some very difficult paperwork.
I wouldn't hesitate in

recommending Willow Gardens.

Overall Experience

My mum was a resident here for more than 3 years and she formed a good relationship with most of the staff. She enjoyed the company of being with other people and especially liked having a laugh and a joke with the lovely carers. I am very happy with the level of care and support mum received whilst

at Willow Gardens and I know that we couldn't have found anywhere better for mum to spend the last year's of her life. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone else.

Overall Experience

The staff at Orchard Gardens are caring, attentive, professional and friendly and have gone above and beyond to ensure my father is well cared for and comfortable in his new environment.
Communication has been excellent with family members and I feel I could approach them with any issues. They have

I feel my dad is quite happy at Orchard Gardens.
Dad says he can't think of anything to make his stay better.
There have been issues with laundry but I believe this has been dealt with.
He actually went on a trip and enjoyed this very much.

Overall Experience

On our very first visit to Willow Gardens, my wife and I instinctively knew that this is where Mum is meant to be, and 23 months on, we can unequivocally say that our initial feeling has been endorsed a hundred times over. The manager and her whole team are absolutely amazing, having created and nurtured

a happy and enriching environment, not only for Mum but all those in their care. The level of professionalism, care, respect and genuine affection demonstrated is exemplary, especially as Mum has dementia with all the additional support that entails. Placing a loved one into full-time is an emotional time but Willow Gardens truly encompasses all the very best you could wish for in not just a care home, but in a caring home. We take comfort and peace of mind that we have done our very best for Mum by entrusting her into the care of the family that is Willow Gardens.

Overall Experience

Mayflower has cared for my mother since May 2024. I live abroad and am comforted by the level of care provided by the Mayflower team. Several times a week the team ensure that I can speak to Mum on the phone and are always readily available to let me know how Mum is doing. Mayflower provides a welcoming

home environment and has ensured that we are part of the new family dynamic. Thank you, Mayflower!

Overall Experience

Have lived here nearly a year and getting used to my own room. Meals are always on time and the best. Laundry is picked up on time and returned. Rooms are cleaned daily/weekly which I like and kept tidy, including carpets always clean. Coffee shop easy to get to, a small shop selling everything you

might need. All cards that you've forgotten and they are handy. The bistro is useful for meeting family members.

Overall Experience

I feel that my dad is being cared for very well. The home is warm and does not feel like a care home but a good hotel. The good looks great and there is plenty of it. I think my dad benefits greatly from the day trips out of the home plus the daily activities put on.
It can not be easy for the staff

dealing with my dad but all seem to do a fantastic job. I am happy that my dad is a resident of this home.

The staff are always polite, caring and professional, nothing is too much trouble. The manager was very accommodating when my father had to be admitted as an emergency. She explained very clearly and ensured his admission ran smoothly. My mother was admitted here when discharged from hospital and we

received the same seamless professional experience.

Overall Experience

The care home seems to be run very well with fantastic staff. My mother is always well looked after with plenty of actives to keep her busy throughout the day. Her room has a small garden attached to it for which reminds her of her own garden in the past and allows her to sit out in it weather permitting.

She also loves walking round the larger garden on sunny days. Her only criticism has been the food standard has gone down over the past year there doesn't seem to be the variety that they use to have.
