Overall Experience

My mother has been in the home, now, for two years. After two previous homes not suiting my mother's needs, we've found the perfect place. My mother lives her room, which is like a small self-contained flat. The size of the home is also ideal, housing around 40 residents.

The staff are always attentive

and very caring. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, and they're always striving to ensure mam is happy, and her welfare needs are met. From top to bottom, staff do their utmost, in what is a difficult and challenging role. I like to thank those staff for their kindness and continuing support to the family and mam. Their efforts are appreciated by all the family, after a difficult few years before mam went into a the home.

I hope these few words are enough thanks,. And keep up the good work.

Overall Experience

My mum has been resident in Whorlton Grange Care home for three months now and it has not been an easy time for her or the family. However this transition has been greatly assisted by the excellent support we have all had from the Whorlton Grange Team. They have quickly gained an understanding of Mum's

care needs, likes and dislikes and do their best to make her feel comfortable and settled. This has even included taking her as an individual on a day out to a venue at her request. The home itself is clean, bright cheerful and warm, always buzzing with activity and something going on, set on beautiful grounds too. Thank you Whorlton Grange for continuing to support mum and the rest of us, we know she is in the best place for her.

Rob had 2 periods of respite here prior to an assessment period, then permanent care. His physical needs are largely well met, and he is arpported in personal care and eating. He enjoys activities when they are available.
His room is functional, airy, light and clean. Staff, including managers, are

Mum was a resident of Craghall for almost 5 years and it was very reassuring to me to know that she was being looked after by the wonderful staff at the home. I cannot praise and thank the staff enough who cared for Mum during her timer at Craghall, the level of kindness and care they showed for her

was outstanding and she always seemed happy and content, it really was her home. Craghall staff were always helpful and facilitated our visits to Mum, she was treated with great respect and kindness. We would recommend Craghall without hesitation.

Before my mum went into the home she was extremely withdrawn, asleep most of the time, could hardly walk, and was in and out of hospital. I have just sadly had to move my sister into the home.
However, I'm so, so impressed with the amazing care staff. Friendly, helpful, exceptionally trained, very professional and just wonderful with my sister and other residents.
They're so supportive to me too, really understanding and patient as

I get used to her being in the home.
There's also lots of staff. I've visited people in other homes and my mam was in a care home and I have never seen as many lovely, helpful staff.
The home itself is small but clean and very well kept.
Residents can wander freely but very securely and the gardens are lovely.
Best choice I could have made for my big sis.

Staff work hard for the residents, most of whom are absolute angels who communicate so well with everyone in their care. There are many activities arranged within Ryton Towers, as well as day trips away, which are so enjoyed by those residents who are able to partake. When residents are difficult

or distressed, the staff continue to treat with dignity and respect. The gardens are beautifully kept and used by residents and visitors regularly. I would recommend Ryton Towers to anyone who require such care.

My mother-in-law is a resident we live in York so visit once a month but ring the home on a regular weekly basis. Mum seems very happy. Overall Experience

Choosing Ryton Towers as a Care Home for my relative was definitely the right decision for my family. Dropping him off there for the first time was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do, but I needn't have worried. As a dementia patient he received memory testing and his score actually

improved after moving into Ryton Towers.

My relative became noticeably more secure and much less anxious as he settled in. He joined in lots of activities which we had not expected him to do.

It is always easy to find a member of staff if you have any queries, and they all seem to know how my relative is doing at any given time. We are always kept fully informed.

A few years down the line his condition had deteriorated significantly, but he is still happy and the staff are still able to care for him very well. We could not ask for more.

St George's went above and beyond to make my mums special birthday a memorable experience for her, her friends she has made in the home and our family. Entertainment was organised, tailor made for my mum as well as a buffet tea which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were excellent and could not

do enough for my mum and our family to ensure that the occasion was celebrated in style. I certainly recommend this home for anyone who has a family member with dementia.
