My Grandmother has been a resident of Rotherlea, Petworth for a year and a half and I can honestly say that the care she has had during her alzheimers journey has been faultless. The support to us as a family has also been something that we didn't realise would be so important. They care for my Grandmother
as if she was their own

My Husband & I had a lovely afternoon on Friday with my Dad whilst fitting a TV on the wall for him in his room.
Our baby puppy cockapoo came with us & he visited most of the residents, which really cheered them up & made their day apparantly!
Dad & I sat in the lounge having a good old sing-song,
which Dad really enjoyed.
All the staff were fabulous & really good with Dad.
We left feeling very happy & pleased that Dad seems to be settling in quite well now & having wonderful care!
Thank you x

Ledbury Nursing Home

from K S (Wife of Resident) published on 19 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Ledbury Nursing Home looked after my husband in the final months of his life when he was too poorly to stay at home.
The whole team cared for him with kindness, respect and humour throughout his stay there. His medical issues were managed promptly and expertly by the knowledgeable nurses. The carers
were always professional, full of joy and happy to join in his jokes. He told me that since being there he felt he was surrounded by friends.
I knew I was leaving him in good hands when I went home, and if there were any concerns I would be contacted quickly. The nursing home did everything they could to make him feel at home there, even tiny requests were respected and acted on.
The small team mean good relationships are developed and the staff get to know you and your loved ones likes and dislikes, making them feel more relaxed and at ease.
I will be forever grateful for the care he received, knowing he was in good hands, among friends, meant so much.
Reply from Jane Pye, Home Manager at Ledbury Nursing Home

Thank you for such a heartfelt message. It means so much to hear that your husband felt surrounded by friends and truly cared for during his time with us. We're honoured to have been part of his journey and are deeply grateful for your trust. Your words are a touching reminder of why we do what we do.

Since my mother has been a resident at The Grove she has settled very well is very happy. She enjoys the interaction with the staff, who are extremely kind and thoughtful to her. She enjoys the chair exercises, the highlight of the week is having her hair done and much appreciates being able to have
a bath, something she was unable to have at home. From a visitors point of view the management and staff are always welcoming and accommodating.

Glebe House

from Brian H (Respite Resident) published on 19 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We returned home on Wednesday from another great respite break at Glebe House. I have to say once again I have been looked after extremely well by caring and delightful staff.
It was good to see everyone again, I was welcomed and made to feel at home straight away. I was in our usual room with my assistance
dog and he thoroughly enjoys his stay with me there too.
I felt utterly spoilt by all departments who take every care to ensure our stay is pleasant, particularly it always amuses me when I return to my room after housekeeping has tidied up to find all Marines toys carefully placed and looking good.
I have as usual been a little challenging at times with my needs but that is taken on the chin by all the staff who are always there to offer any support I need.
I feel it is important my wife gets the chance to properly unwind and refresh herself and by having such a great care home to ensure I am safe and well looked after she is able to relax and enjoy the time herself.
Reply from Irene Pudduck, Home Manager at Glebe House

My mum has been a full-time resident at Deerswood Lodge for over a year now. During this time we have found the staff and management to be kind and supportive. They keep us informed of any changes to her health and personal needs.
We are always made to feel welcome and it's lovely to see the familiar
friendly faces, who work very hard to help mum with her care, it is truly appreciated. Mum enjoys sitting in the lounge with the company of the other residents. Her appetite has really improved with the lovely meals, snacks and cups of teas.
The staff really did an amazing job putting on another wonderful summer party this year, we all really enjoyed the tea and cakes and wheelbarrow flower displays. Mum particularly enjoyed the local choir, they were Brilliant!
Thanks again for all that you do.

We attended the Burleys Root Carnival with our friend today, who is a resident of the home. The staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcome. The staff went round to check on the residents, making sure that they were sitting in the shade and had food and drinks. The staff danced to the music
and encouraged people to join in, to the best of each individuals abilities. It looked like everyone had a good afternoon and enjoyed themselves. Well done.

I am very grateful to the care my mum has received since becoming a resident last March. It was a difficult decision but we now know it was the right decision as she gets the care she needs. The support and care of the staff goes without saying - always at hand when needed and nothing is too much trouble.
The ground floor lounge has been given a refreshing new look - so bright and welcoming! Thank you to the staff who gave their time to do such a wonderful job!
We know mum is happy as she never complains and is very grateful to the care she receives.

My hubby came into this care home a year ago. The manager and her staff have done everything thing possible to welcome my hubby. The manager herself has gone beyond the call of her work to even help myself and my son in her own time (I'm disabled and my son has medical problems ). I have on a couple
of occasions phoned the manager while she was on holiday and bless her she still had plenty of time to talk to me.
Hubby made friends with the staff and other residents and I love that they call us all family. The staff have been absolutely amazing.Hubby could be hard work at times (due to illness) but they made sure he was well looked after. and the chefs are always eager to please.
The place is always kept clean and tidy,. The manager deserves all the awards she can get for this place.
Sadly we recently lost my hubby through illness and the manager and he amazing team arrange to have his wake there as I believe that is what he would have wanted.Thank you all so very much every one at Cartref Cleddau you are awesome.

I have not left a review before but I have nothing but praise for this care home my Aunt has been there for about 4 months and the management and staff have been totally committed with care and kindness to help her settle in to a environment which is so different from what she has been used to ie living
in her own home. From my point of view it has allowed me to come to terms with my own doubts if I have done the right thing for my Aunt but having seen how the caring staff have helped my Aunt settle in has reassured me that I have made the right decision and have just had a call from the care home that they going to take my Aunt to the seaside for a picnic which doesn't get any better. So to sum up my review I am totally relaxed about the care my Aunt is receiving.

On my visits to my friend I always ask how satisfied she feels with her care and the response is always positive usually including the phrase, they are very kind to me.
When I have needed to ask the management for help or assistance I find them extremely obliging and very supportive to deal with.
I
find my friend, for the most part very content and accepting of what for her is a difficult situation

Mum has been a resident at The Martlets since September 2024 and as a family we have been incredibly impressed with the level of care she has received. The staff are patient, understanding, and consistently attentive to all of Mum's complex needs as someone living with dementia.
The Martlets is a lovely
home - bright, beautifully decorated, and featuring a large garden. The environment is spacious and thoughtfully designed, allowing residents to move about freely and safely. Residents enjoy activities and are taken out, which we really appreciate.
What stands out the most, though, is the people. All the managers and staff are exceptionally friendly, approachable, and professional. Every time we visit, we are made to feel welcome and supported. One staff member said to me, "This is Mum's home"-and that truly sums up how the place feels.
Thank you to everyone at The Martlets for the outstanding care and compassion you have shown to Mum and we would highly recommend The Martlets.
