As a Housebound library volunteer I have visited 2 residents over the last few years, but one resident is a particular lady who I knew before she came to the home. Knowing where she came from previously I was so pleased with her room, care and general outlook. The place itself is outstanding for accommodation;
there are coffee bars that non residents can also use, there are activities on all the time, a hairdresser too. The staff are so good with their charges and are friendly and helpful to visitors too. The outside has lovely garden areas and all residents have large windows to see the trees and flowerbeds even from their bed. All in all a lovely place 10/10 from me.

Since my wife moved to Hailsham Hpuse she is in the lounge all day, which is good for her as before she was in her room all day. The activities in the lounge are very good. She likes the sing songs and likes to join in. I visit every day and see the things that are put on for them; they also get a drink
and cake. From what I have seen, it is a happy place. Myself and my 2 daughters and I cannot fault the home at all.
Reply from Rui Santos, General Manager at Hailsham House Care HomeThank you for the the lovely review. I will share with my team and continue the great job. The activities are very important at Hailsham House and we will continue the focus to keep the mentioned happy place. Kind regards, Rui

My wife has been here for 3.5 months. I spend up to 6 hours per day every day with her and have now had time to experience the good and not so good aspects of the home.
It would appear that for some members of staff its all to much trouble to respond to a request for help, while others are only to
willing to assist. The cleanliness & food at Brampton are excellent a quicker response to the alarm bell would also help

My Nan has now been at Sandstone Brook for a few weeks. The place is immaculate, the staff are all very friendly and helpful and my Nan is on the up as a result of moving in here vs. being at her home.

This was the best move for her and I'm glad we as a family chose Sandstone Brook. The food is great

from what my Nan has said, the activities are clearly listed throughout the week for her to take part in, from dance lessons to flower arranging.

I actually visited recently and they had a singer on who was fantastic and sang a lot of the 50s, 60s and 70s songs, which resonated with my Nan to the point she said her Mum used to sing these songs to her.

As mentioned, my Nan was very reluctant (she is very much old school) but in hindsight is in much better spirits as a result of being here surrounded by people of a similar age and being supported by the fantastic staff members.

Wow what an amazing place, it felt like I was stepping into a 5 hotel not a Care Home. The decor and the attention to detail is just beautiful and the cleanliness and the warm, caring friendly staff instantly gives it such an inviting feel and makes it feel so homely. Mum was discharged from hospital
at short notice and had been having carers 4 times a day prior to being in hospital, we felt that the care company were not giving Mum the care and the time she needed and deserved. After discussing it with Mum she was given the option of going back home with a care package or going to a care home for Respite. Mum chose to go to Sandstone Brook. From the moment Mum arrived she was quite literally welcomed with open arms from the very happy, friendly, staff, who seem to go above and beyond for their residents. So far I've met lots of the staff and found them all to be very helpful and dedicated to their role, I would like to give a special mention to Emma who is absolutely amazing!!

Mum moved into Lindridge from another (considerably more expensive) care home. Her health, happiness and general interest in life has improved noticeably in the 5 months she has lived at Lindridge. It took a while for mum to settle in and for the staff to get to know her but it was worth the wait. I
feel the staff at a Lindridge really care about her well-being. They all seem to get stuck in and work together at making a fun and homely environment. No managers shut in offices here. I'm also impressed by the quality and quantity of outsourced entertainment. It really is exceptional. Thank you to all the the team at Lindridge. I couldn't have hoped for better for my mum.
Reply from Louise Offer, Business Administrator at LindridgeThank you so much Philippa for taking the time to submit a review and for such a lovely one too. The last few months have been extremely difficult, navigating hospital stays and arranging carers for my mum.
Following yet another short stay in hospital, we finally found the help we needed.
Sandstone Brook has been supportive, compassionate and has given us the help we needed to get our mum settled
in.
All the staff have been extremely friendly and professional, they have treated our mum with dignity and respect. My family members have felt confident, that mum will receive the loving care she deserves.
The home is beautiful, it is modern with a calm, home from home ambience.
There are lovely social spaces and also quiet areas. It was lovely to see a group of residents singing along with staff members to a great singer.
The care mum has received is first class and that means the world to us.

My wife was admitted to Brampton Lodge in January of this year following a period in hospital. This was intended as respite. However, because of being unable to walk, having dementia and being diabetic, it was decided the best course of action was for her to stay. Also, because of these health issues,
she required continuous nursing care.
At times she can become anxious and agitated, but the staff handle these occasions in a caring and compassionate way.
Regarding the activities at the home, my wife encouraged to take part.
As a nice touch on my daily visits, I am able to have my lunch served alongside my wife at the same time as the other residents.
So although it is not easy to leave my wife after my visits, I can do so in the knowledge that the care and attention shown to her by the staff will be excellent.
Reply from Bev, Regional Manager at Brampton Lodge Care CentreThank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words about Brampton Lodge. We truly appreciate your trust in us, and we are grateful to be able to support your wife following her hospital stay.
We understand how important it is for families to feel confident in the care their loved ones receive, especially when complex health needs are involved. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred care, and it is heartening to hear that their approach has brought comfort during moments of anxiety or agitation.
We are also very pleased that you have found the activities and shared mealtimes meaningful. Being able to have lunch together is something we are glad to offer, as maintaining those moments of connection can make such a difference.
Thank you again for your thoughtful review. It means a great deal to our team. Please never hesitate to speak with us if there is anything more we can do to support you or your wife.

My initial contact was with Nicky - who was consistently understanding and enormously helpful at a time when we needed reassurance. While Stuart was in respite care - we prolonged this! - the carers were wonderful. Adam, Maricel, Alice, Sam, Sahil ... the list goes on. Also, the activities were
so very helpful. He particularly enjoyed the outing to the car brand, plus the quizzes organised and run by Adam in particular, also Christine.
Needless to say, he much enjoyed the meals ...
I would anticipate further brief periods of respite care in the future.
We value the contact with Nicky, and the carers who are so very helpful.

I cannot give Lindridge enough praise! We lost mum in April and dad went into the home in July - he went from crying every day and saying he didn't want to be here anymore to being really happy. He's made friends and because they do so much activities and entertainment dad is now loving life. The staff
are so kind, friendly and caring and go out their way to make it a friendly, happy safe place to be.
Reply from Tracey Fox-Stillwell, Deputy Manager at LindridgeThank you for taking the time to provide this wonderful review for us here at Lindridge , we will share this with all the team .

Since Mum went into Burnside Care, she has had a new lease of life. The care she receives is brilliant. All the staff are welcoming and caring. I'm updated quickly on any falls etc. There is always someone to talk to

Ranfurly Care Home

When mum needed a care home, the family viewed several in the area, but as soon as I stepped foot in Ranfurly Care Home, I knew it was the one. Mum has been in their care for a year now and has settled well. Mum and staff have a great relationship, and it's lovely to see their interactions with each
other. I cannot fault any part of my mums care, the meals, housekeeping, caring and nursing staff. They are all exceptional and have built up a really close relationship with the family. Mum joins in the activities provided by Sharon and Nicola, from days out, exercise, arts and crafts, quizzes, sing along and especially the bingo. Activity staff are always looking for new ways to include all residents of all abilities. Ranfurly offers family, friends and residents the opportunity to hear all about the ongoing upgrades and planned work being done and to make suggestions of improvements or changes. I know my mum is safe and well looked after at Ranfurly, and I can rest at ease knowing they have my back.
Reply from Corinne Reid, Manager at Ranfurly Care HomeThank you for your kind words. I will pass these on to the staff, especially our activities staff. Our staff enjoy getting to know our residents and their families, to provide care that is personal to them.
