Wow what an amazing place, it felt like I was stepping into a 5 hotel not a Care Home. The decor and the attention to detail is just beautiful and the cleanliness and the warm, caring friendly staff instantly gives it such an inviting feel and makes it feel so homely. Mum was discharged from hospital
at short notice and had been having carers 4 times a day prior to being in hospital, we felt that the care company were not giving Mum the care and the time she needed and deserved. After discussing it with Mum she was given the option of going back home with a care package or going to a care home for Respite. Mum chose to go to Sandstone Brook. From the moment Mum arrived she was quite literally welcomed with open arms from the very happy, friendly, staff, who seem to go above and beyond for their residents. So far I've met lots of the staff and found them all to be very helpful and dedicated to their role, I would like to give a special mention to Emma who is absolutely amazing!!

Mum moved into Lindridge from another (considerably more expensive) care home. Her health, happiness and general interest in life has improved noticeably in the 5 months she has lived at Lindridge. It took a while for mum to settle in and for the staff to get to know her but it was worth the wait. I
feel the staff at a Lindridge really care about her well-being. They all seem to get stuck in and work together at making a fun and homely environment. No managers shut in offices here. I'm also impressed by the quality and quantity of outsourced entertainment. It really is exceptional. Thank you to all the the team at Lindridge. I couldn't have hoped for better for my mum.

The last few months have been extremely difficult, navigating hospital stays and arranging carers for my mum.
Following yet another short stay in hospital, we finally found the help we needed.
Sandstone Brook has been supportive, compassionate and has given us the help we needed to get our mum settled
in.
All the staff have been extremely friendly and professional, they have treated our mum with dignity and respect. My family members have felt confident, that mum will receive the loving care she deserves.
The home is beautiful, it is modern with a calm, home from home ambience.
There are lovely social spaces and also quiet areas. It was lovely to see a group of residents singing along with staff members to a great singer.
The care mum has received is first class and that means the world to us.

Brampton Lodge Care Centre

from R P (Wife of Resident) published on 27 November 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife was admitted to Brampton Lodge in January of this year following a period in hospital. This was intended as respite. However, because of being unable to walk, having dementia and being diabetic, it was decided the best course of action was for her to stay. Also, because of these health issues,
she required continuous nursing care.
At times she can become anxious and agitated, but the staff handle these occasions in a caring and compassionate way.
Regarding the activities at the home, my wife encouraged to take part.
As a nice touch on my daily visits, I am able to have my lunch served alongside my wife at the same time as the other residents.
So although it is not easy to leave my wife after my visits, I can do so in the knowledge that the care and attention shown to her by the staff will be excellent.

My initial contact was with Nicky - who was consistently understanding and enormously helpful at a time when we needed reassurance. While Stuart was in respite care - we prolonged this! - the carers were wonderful. Adam, Maricel, Alice, Sam, Sahil ... the list goes on. Also, the activities were
so very helpful. He particularly enjoyed the outing to the car brand, plus the quizzes organised and run by Adam in particular, also Christine.
Needless to say, he much enjoyed the meals ...
I would anticipate further brief periods of respite care in the future.

I cannot give Lindridge enough praise! We lost mum in April and dad went into the home in July - he went from crying every day and saying he didn't want to be here anymore to being really happy. When mum needed a care home, the family viewed several in the area, but as soon as I stepped foot in Ranfurly Care Home, I knew it was the one. Mum has been in their care for a year now and has settled well. Mum and staff have a great relationship, and it's lovely to see their interactions with each
other. I cannot fault any part of my mums care, the meals, housekeeping, caring and nursing staff. They are all exceptional and have built up a really close relationship with the family. Mum joins in the activities provided by Sharon and Nicola, from days out, exercise, arts and crafts, quizzes, sing along and especially the bingo. Activity staff are always looking for new ways to include all residents of all abilities. Ranfurly offers family, friends and residents the opportunity to hear all about the ongoing upgrades and planned work being done and to make suggestions of improvements or changes. I know my mum is safe and well looked after at Ranfurly, and I can rest at ease knowing they have my back.

My Mum has been attending Brampton Day centre for over a year now and she loves it there. The staff in the day centre always go above and beyond to support her and to help my Dad and me. Mum is really happy there. We've had lots of up's and downs with Mum's condition and throughout all of that the
staff have always been there for us no matter what and helped where they can both emotionally and practically.
The activities and days out that Mum has been on are really good as well the staff make a real effort to make it fun for the people who attend.
Mum's had two birthday's there now and they've really made a fuss of her. Brampton Day Centre staff mean the world to us, thank you for all you do it's really appreciated.

Sandstone Brook is a beautiful, welcoming home and the team have done all they can to help, during a very difficult time for our family.
From when I first called in to have a look around, nothing has been too much trouble. Every member of staff takes the time to speak and it's refreshing to see how
clean and tidy everywhere is kept. There is a real family feel to the home.
The rooms are lovely and well thought out, with plenty of space.
It was a straight forward process for my brother in law to go straight from being discharged from hospital into the home and things were arranged quickly. He has settled in well and we have the peace of mind he is safe and cared for 24/7.
They have a programme of activities, which is really nice, but equally there is no pressure to do things.
Everyone is lovely and we feel very welcome whenever we visit and happy with the decision to choose Sandstone Brook.
Thank you to the whole team.

Mum stayed at Alexandra Mill for 4 weeks' respite to allow me to go on holiday. It is a lovely care home, well cared for and presented. Mum loved her room and soon made friends with fellow residents and all the staff. When I went to pick her up, she said, "I'm leaving already. I thought I was here for

It can take time for your loved one to settle, even in the best homes like Alexandra Mill. It has taken a long time for my mum, who has dementia, to really settle, but with lots of encouragement from the caring staff she seems much happier and content. All the staff are friendly and welcoming to everyone.
My mum particularly likes the housekeeping staff, who are always very kind to her. She has been joining in the activities more, thanks to the lovely activities team who understand her and give her lots of support when she needs it. A lot of the staff have been at the home since mum first moved in, which is always a good sign in my opinion. There are some lovely communal areas to enjoy such as the cafe and garden.

When visiting Hailsham House in November 2024, we were very impressed with the operation of the nursing home and the staff who showed us around. They were very professional and helpful. Since my wife was admitted on December 5th 2025, her care and comfort has been everyone's priority. The team were
also very kind and professional, giving me confidence that I chose Hailsham House to care for my wife.

My Father has been at Hailsham house since January this year. I have grown to appreciate how hard the team works for my Dad. There have been teething problems, but Rui and his team are always responsive to our small concerns and I am very glad that my Dad is here.
I can recommend coming to the family
and residents meetings quarterly: giving families an understanding of the amount of improvements and updates going forward for the residents. The activities and the events scheduled for families to attend is amazing!
Looking forward to the Harvest Festival!
Thanks to all at Hailsham House.

My mum appears to be settling in well at Hailsham House (beech unit). The staff I have met are friendly, approachable, kind and caring which brings me comfort knowing that my mum is with such lovely people. The home is welcoming, clean and tidy with activities every day should the residents wish to
participate. From first impressions I would highly recommend Hailsham House!
