Bracebridge Care Group is built on Emotional Intelligence through the veins of all that they are and all that they do. They are dedicated to providing exceptional heart-centred care across their newly established care homes. The homes they build are designed to support diverse individual needs, especially people living with dementia. They emphasise inclusivity, welcoming older LGBTQI individuals, and fostering a sense of community and belonging. Each home has a team of dedicated professionals carefully selected for their emotional intelligence and commitment to heart-centred care.

The care environments are thoughtfully crafted to feel like 'home from home', promoting independence and emotional well-being. Including dogs (and ducks in one home!) living in the homes – which offer a true sense of home and a 4-legged friend for everyone! Team members relax when times get tough and people who exhibit heightened emotions are calmed by a dog in the home.

They created a whole system on tech with a focus on giving back time to the team so they can spend more time with the people they support. They employ innovative technologies such as Nourish care planning, Camascope EMAR, and PainChek to ensure high-quality, kind and heart-centred care to everyone including the team. The homes are also equipped with acoustic monitoring systems to enhance people’s safety without unnecessary intrusions especially at night-time.

The team is led by a senior team who understand leadership in care. With the CEO a director on the Outstanding Society, as well as a recipient of the Chief Nurse award, they know that they will keep developing their offer. They are always open to sharing their best practice and have had other care home groups come and join the managers for days in their homes to see how they use their systems and to enable them to learn. They understand that every day offers the opportunity to feel purpose and love.

Our experience of Acer Lodge has been very positive, in particular the varied activities led by Tony who is absolutely excellent in involving everyone in such a cheerful, positive and fun way.
The paved path leading to the front door has loose flags that need attention.
Reply from Samantha Crawley, CEO at Acer LodgeThank you so much for this wonderful review and we agree about Tony, he is such an inspiration for fantastic moments every day. The team will be thrilled to see this! Agreed too re the flag stones, we got a quote to mend them this week - so this will be done very soon, thank you. S

The staff at Cedar Lodge, Whitchurch, are all extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble! They are polite and friendly. Suzy went out of her way yesterday to sort something out for me.

The food is delicious.

The staff are caring and meet individual needs. If there are any medical concerns staff are quick to act and the nurses send photos and contact specialist teams for treatment. Excellent service - quick and efficient. The various activities for residents have improved greatly. My mother particularly
enjoys the weekly craft session and she looks forward to it. Management care, listen and act upon concerns.

Cedar Lodge

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I visited my aunt at Cedar Lodge over Christmas and what a lovely place. It is a beautiful house and has a real warmth to it that can only come from the kindness of the wonderful staff. It sounds like there's always some kind of activity going on which keeps my aunt occupied and engaged, rather than
mouldering in front of the tv, and she is really looking forward to the summer months when she can get out into the garden with the gardening club as she was always garden proud. She has a really lovely room and it's such a pleasure to see that just because someone is getting older and needs more help, that they are really cared for, cared about, can still have a social life - and she loves that that she can still have a drink with dinner. I'll be lucky if my kids put me somewhere this nice.
Reply from Julia Berry, Customer Focus Lead at Cedar LodgeHello

Acer Lodge

from Helen A (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 April 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum has been a resident of Acer Lodge since last August, and is very happy and settled there. The layout of the home is very well thought out - unlike many care homes we have visited, it has areas where residents can socialise, but also plenty of quiet spaces, and comfortable rooms where families
are welcomed and can make themselves at home. We know that no care home is perfect, but we feel that any concerns we have raised have been dealt with promptly. With the current staff, we feel that we are listened to, and our opinions valued. There is genuine care for the people who live there. The outstanding feature, which has prompted this review, is the variety of activities provided. A lot of thought goes into engaging residents in interesting and fun things to do. Tony knows everyone so well, and their families, and makes sure everyone is involved. Mum has dementia and can no longer communicate with us very well, so daily photos and updates on social media are fantastic.

I have been volunteering at Cedar Lodge with Benji the Therapy Dog for the last 4 months. The team are so accommodating and the care they provide is first rate. The residents are always complimentary and telling me what fun they've been up to.

Looked at a lot of homes before choosing the rowans and it proved to be a good decision.
Mum seems very settled now days and gets on very well with the other residents and all the staff.
The home is very well maintained and regularly cleaned, rooms are well appointed with spacious ensuite bathrooms.
They
have a regular activity and entertainment programme, this is something my mother doesn't make much use of but I'm hoping she may do with time.
I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about the rowans, it's modern purpose built and has ample on site parking.

We recently traveled from the US to visit my wife's beloved mother at Cedar Lodge and were immediately delighted with the quality of the facility, staff and warm, welcoming environment. The staff, including Lisa, made us feel so comfortable enabling us to savor the experience of spending precious time
with my mother-in-law.
When we drove up to Cedar Lodge for the first time earlier this month, our seven-year old granddaughter gazed at the facade with wonder, saying "I didn't know that great-grandma was living in a castle". Those sweet words from a child brought a smile to everyone.
Please let me express my deepest gratitude to Cedar Lodge and the staff with the knowledge that an ocean away we can be supremely confident that great-grandma is being well looked after while enjoying her lovely new home and all it has to offer.
Respectfully,

January 21st-January 22nd
With the swift support of the Palliative Care team at the Hospital and the Customer Focus Lead at Cedar Lodge, my 90-year-old father was moved there for his final couple of days as an end of life patient.
We were so fortunate that he was in such a dignified and peaceful setting
and was treated so kindly and well by his nurses and the whole team, led by the home manager.
As his family, we were also made to feel very comfortable and cared for, being nurtured throughout the days. The staff were sensitive, but also able to bring some light relief at a time when we needed it the most.
Putting a butterfly on my father's door was a very thoughtful touch which inspired us to choose an urn with the same motif when he was cremated. The ceremony of opening the window and letting out his spirit will always stay with us and for how he was looked after throughout his stay.
We will always be grateful for everything Cedar Lodge did for my father and us.
Reply from Samantha Crawley, CEO at Cedar LodgeThank you so much for this amazing review of your experience during what was a very difficult time for you all. We really appreciate you taking the time to praise the team at the home for their compassion and care. It is so good to hear that you appreciated the use of the butterfly, this was borne of feedback from a family member some time ago and we have had feedback from family members how special it is, we are glad too that this inspired your choice of motif on the urn you chose. We will ensure this beautiful review is shared with the team. Thank you S
