Bracebridge Care Group is built on Emotional Intelligence through the veins of all that they are and all that they do. They are dedicated to providing exceptional heart-centred care across their newly established care homes. The homes they build are designed to support diverse individual needs, especially people living with dementia. They emphasise inclusivity, welcoming older LGBTQI individuals, and fostering a sense of community and belonging. Each home has a team of dedicated professionals carefully selected for their emotional intelligence and commitment to heart-centred care.

The care environments are thoughtfully crafted to feel like 'home from home', promoting independence and emotional well-being. Including dogs (and ducks in one home!) living in the homes – which offer a true sense of home and a 4-legged friend for everyone! Team members relax when times get tough and people who exhibit heightened emotions are calmed by a dog in the home.

They created a whole system on tech with a focus on giving back time to the team so they can spend more time with the people they support. They employ innovative technologies such as Nourish care planning, Camascope EMAR, and PainChek to ensure high-quality, kind and heart-centred care to everyone including the team. The homes are also equipped with acoustic monitoring systems to enhance people’s safety without unnecessary intrusions especially at night-time.

The team is led by a senior team who understand leadership in care. With the CEO a director on the Outstanding Society, as well as a recipient of the Chief Nurse award, they know that they will keep developing their offer. They are always open to sharing their best practice and have had other care home groups come and join the managers for days in their homes to see how they use their systems and to enable them to learn. They understand that every day offers the opportunity to feel purpose and love.

This is one of the best care homes I've ever been to and the staff are so knowledgeable, professional and kind.
The activities are based around all the residents and encourages everyone to participate, where possible.
The staff work well together as a team and the important part is they actually care,
rather than work as carers.
You can have care homes which looks like hotels and others that resemble a bed and breakfast. But it's the staff inside that make it a home.
Cedar Lodge has the look of a hotel and the care of a lovely home.
Well done to all the staff for making the difference.

It's early days for my mother at Cedar Lodge. So far, our experience has been positive, with staff doing everything possible help my mother settle in. The facilities at the home are exceptional and staff are always helpful and willing to take individual requests into account. Carers are attentive and
responsive. As a new home, everything is immaculately clean and well cared for. For those who wish, there are plenty of activities and opportunities to meet other people. At the same time, no one is forced to join in with these and those who prefer more calm and peace will certainly find it here.

My mum stayed at Cedar Lodge for 2 weeks in August 2025, she loved the experience and was very happy. The staff at the home helped me manage transitioning my mum into her first respite care by supporting me taking mum for several visits for coffees or lunch at the home. Each time she went she was asking
to go back as we were always made to feel so welcome. This really helped mum to prepare for her respite care and settle in without any issues.
The staff are so lovely and caring at the home. Susy does a great job of providing activities throughout the week for the residents so there is always something entertaining and interesting to get involved in.
The home is beautifully presented and the bedrooms and lovely and comfortable.
I will definitely be taking mum back for more respite care in the future.

My mum moved to The Oaks in May 2025, moving from another care home which couldn't address her dementia needs. From day one The Oaks has been a significant step up for mum in terms of the care that she receives from both nurses and carers. Due to mum's dementia she can be a challenging resident, but
the nurses and carers seem to have got her 'sussed' and know how to make her time at The Oaks as good as they can. I would recommend The Oaks to anyone seeking a caring and professional home for their relative.

It takes a dedicated team to make a home excellent and Acer Lodge has that. Every single member of staff at some point in the day spends one to one quality time with one person who lives there. My dad is non verbal so he speaks with his face, and all the staff now read his face. The home is a lovely

Overall, I can honestly say that I wouldn't want my Godmother to be anywhere else; The staff are welcoming, friendly, humorous and attentive with some staff highly commendable.

The patients are encouraged to socialise and to join in the activities, which are generally tailored to dementia patients,

(though I have enjoyed a few myself!)

The rooms are spacious and can be made homely with personal items. Furniture can be moved for the residents' safety and personal needs. My only grievance is that the room often smells unpleasant (urine), and I have occasionally had to clean the food tray.

The food is usually of a high standard, with some yummy desserts and often alternatives offered.

When there is a full quota of staff, things run well, but there have been occasions where carers have been delayed due to shortages.

Whenever I have raised an issue, it has been dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.

Inspite of the odd niggles, I would highly recommend The Oaks.

Denis was brought to Acer Lodge after 3 weeks in hospital, he was welcomed in by the staff. He hasn't been an easy resident, suffering from Alzheimer's he thinks he is in his own home as he can go into other rooms. The carers are so kind to him, to us, well looked after, kept clean and tidy. Can't praise
the staff enough. Our only problem is loss of property and clothes, even though they are all named, I've had to buy new glasses and a watch.
