Bracebridge Care Group is built on Emotional Intelligence through the veins of all that they are and all that they do. They are dedicated to providing exceptional heart-centred care across their newly established care homes. The homes they build are designed to support diverse individual needs, especially people living with dementia. They emphasise inclusivity, welcoming older LGBTQI individuals, and fostering a sense of community and belonging. Each home has a team of dedicated professionals carefully selected for their emotional intelligence and commitment to heart-centred care.

The care environments are thoughtfully crafted to feel like 'home from home', promoting independence and emotional well-being. Including dogs (and ducks in one home!) living in the homes – which offer a true sense of home and a 4-legged friend for everyone! Team members relax when times get tough and people who exhibit heightened emotions are calmed by a dog in the home.

They created a whole system on tech with a focus on giving back time to the team so they can spend more time with the people they support. They employ innovative technologies such as Nourish care planning, Camascope EMAR, and PainChek to ensure high-quality, kind and heart-centred care to everyone including the team. The homes are also equipped with acoustic monitoring systems to enhance people’s safety without unnecessary intrusions especially at night-time.

The team is led by a senior team who understand leadership in care. With the CEO a director on the Outstanding Society, as well as a recipient of the Chief Nurse award, they know that they will keep developing their offer. They are always open to sharing their best practice and have had other care home groups come and join the managers for days in their homes to see how they use their systems and to enable them to learn. They understand that every day offers the opportunity to feel purpose and love.

Putting my mom into a care/Nursing home 2 days ago has not been easy and not knowing what to expect!
We as a family chose the Oaks from the reviews and location but still were worried.
But our fears were laid to rest from meeting firstly the lovely Manageress and Deputy Lianne and Jo, how loving and
proud they are of the Home, then from the wonderful Rebecca on reception and Jayne at Admin not forgetting all the wonderful Team Members that were getting to know making so far my Moms stay relaxing and so enjoyable and most of all safe and looking after all her needs.
Reply from Lianne Sturmey, Home Manager at The OaksThank you for your kind words, we are very proud of the home and all of our wonderful team members. We always stive to go above and beyond it is a comfort that we have been able to support you and your family through this very difficult time.

My Dad was looked after very well at Acer Lodge. He had complex care needs which were met in full by the nurses and carers with sensitivity and kindness. When he became ill and needed end of life care the team were able to manage this with dignity and compassion. He died peacefully. The managers, nurses
and care staff were always polite, attentive and addressed all the family's concerns. His room was very comfortable, private and well equiped. We were able to make it homely for him. He was very happy to be looked after in Acer Lodge.
Reply from Samantha Crawley, CEO at Acer LodgeThank you so much for sharing this feedback, the team at the home will be so happy to see this, knowing you and your Dad were supported during what was a very difficult time. Sincere condolences for your loss. We will share this feedback with the team, many thanks S

I would like to share a heartfelt thank you and positive review for The Maples Care Home.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff truly care about the residents and go above and beyond in their roles. The kindness, patience, and respect shown every day does not go unnoticed.
I would
especially like to highlight the staff's quick action when dealing with a recent medical concern. Although it was not an emergency, it was handled promptly, professionally, and with great care. This gave us real reassurance and showed how attentive and proactive the team are when it comes to residents' health and wellbeing.
The environment feels warm, welcoming, and supportive, which brings comfort not only to residents but also to their families. It's reassuring to know our loved ones are in such capable and compassionate hands.
Thank you to all the staff for your continued hard work and dedication-it truly makes a difference and is deeply appreciated.
Reply from Samantha Crawley, CEO at The MaplesThank you so much for such a wonderful review of the hone and especially the team. They will be so happy to read this and to know that you have taken the time to write such a fantastic review. Many thanks S

The Rowans is a lovely place. Alway welcoming. Staff caring and friendly. Food is good with a nice variety. Residents rooms comfortable and always clean, including en suite. My only concern is when a resident has to go to hospital (not a pre arranged appointment) there seems no provision for them to
accompanied by staff, only family members. Can be really difficult if they become aggitated or agressive.
Reply from christopher durnan, Home Manager at The RowansThank you for your review, we really appreciate you taking the time to complete it.
With regards to hospital escorts, there are a number of specific reasons for this listed in our statement of purpose, I will forward you a copy today and I'm happy to catch up and discuss further. I will also add this to today's relatives meeting if you are available.
Kind regards
Chris

Cedar Lodge

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Father was a resident for the last eight months of his life. He was contented living in Cedar Lodge and enjoyed his interactions with the staff and other residents. My brother and I were always greeted warmly and nothing was too much trouble. His room was comfortable and spacious.
Dad enjoyed the
meals in the dining room and the activities in the garden room with Suzy. He loved when Julie waved from outside his window in the mornings. Jerry was great at lifting the mood with a storey or a laugh. Dad was treated with kindness, consideration and respect. His nursing needs were met promptly and good decisions made in emergencies.
Our thanks to the staff, with special mention of Jerry, Julie, Carmen, Wmila, Rhoda and Jenny who facilitated my calls to Dad from afar.
Reply from Julia Berry, Customer Focus Lead at Cedar LodgeHello Sue

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and heartfelt review.
It truly means a great deal to us all to hear about your fathers experience and to know that he felt comfortable, content and well cared for during his time with us. Our team will be very touched by your kind words. It was a privilege to have your father be part of our home and we are so pleased of the relationships he built and the activities he enjoyed made such a difference.

Thank you again for your kind words and trusting us with your Fathers care.
we wish you and your family all the very best.

Warm Regards

We really struggled when looking for a care home for Mum as we wanted somewhere that was aesthetically pleasing but also met mums needs. As Mum has Alzheimers she needed care but also constant company and entertaining. Acer Lodge in Blackburn was the only care home that we considered met all mums needs.
The entertainment is second to none, more like being in a hotel rather than a care home! Tony is amazing when it comes to planning activities. The food is really good, home cooked and plenty of choice. And the staff are all welcoming and friendly. Mum is very settled and has even made her own group of friends, which is lovely to see. I would strongly recommend Acer Lodge Care Home, Blackburn to anyone.

Although my father was only a resident for 8 months prior to his death, he clearly was happy and grew very fond of the staff as they did of him. This was no mean feat due to his frailty, combined with his alert mind, dry humour and expectation of high standards! At all levels, from the nurses, carers,
entertainer, receptionists, chefs, laundry lady, administrators, a high degree of professional but also warm and friendly care was evident. Everyone rallied around to ensure he was given maximum support, especially during difficult times when this was needed - for which I remain eternally grateful.
Reply from Samantha Crawley, CEO at Cedar LodgeThank you ever so much for taking the time to write this wonderful review. The team loved your father and were honoured to support and care for him. We are so sorry for your loss, when a parent passes, our world changes forever. The team felt his loss as well, as your father was such a character and an important member of Cedar Lodge.
