Bracebridge Care Group is built on Emotional Intelligence through the veins of all that they are and all that they do. They are dedicated to providing exceptional heart-centred care across their newly established care homes. The homes they build are designed to support diverse individual needs, especially people living with dementia. They emphasise inclusivity, welcoming older LGBTQI individuals, and fostering a sense of community and belonging. Each home has a team of dedicated professionals carefully selected for their emotional intelligence and commitment to heart-centred care.

The care environments are thoughtfully crafted to feel like 'home from home', promoting independence and emotional well-being. Including dogs (and ducks in one home!) living in the homes – which offer a true sense of home and a 4-legged friend for everyone! Team members relax when times get tough and people who exhibit heightened emotions are calmed by a dog in the home.

They created a whole system on tech with a focus on giving back time to the team so they can spend more time with the people they support. They employ innovative technologies such as Nourish care planning, Camascope EMAR, and PainChek to ensure high-quality, kind and heart-centred care to everyone including the team. The homes are also equipped with acoustic monitoring systems to enhance people’s safety without unnecessary intrusions especially at night-time.

The team is led by a senior team who understand leadership in care. With the CEO a director on the Outstanding Society, as well as a recipient of the Chief Nurse award, they know that they will keep developing their offer. They are always open to sharing their best practice and have had other care home groups come and join the managers for days in their homes to see how they use their systems and to enable them to learn. They understand that every day offers the opportunity to feel purpose and love.

Staff are very attentive, kind and always helpful and responsive in relation to my mother's needs. Nothing is too much for the staff in delivering care; they treat my mom with respect. All interactions demonstrate they understand her needs in accordance with her personal preferences. Mom has expressed

It takes a dedicated team to make a home excellent and Acer Lodge has that. Every single member of staff at some point in the day spends one to one quality time with one person who lives there. My dad is non verbal so he speaks with his face, and all the staff now read his face. The home is a lovely
place with lots of fun, laughter and love.

Overall, I can honestly say that I wouldn't want my Godmother to be anywhere else; The staff are welcoming, friendly, humorous and attentive with some staff highly commendable.

The patients are encouraged to socialise and to join in the activities, which are generally tailored to dementia patients,

(though I have enjoyed a few myself!)

The rooms are spacious and can be made homely with personal items. Furniture can be moved for the residents' safety and personal needs. My only grievance is that the room often smells unpleasant (urine), and I have occasionally had to clean the food tray.

The food is usually of a high standard, with some yummy desserts and often alternatives offered.

When there is a full quota of staff, things run well, but there have been occasions where carers have been delayed due to shortages.

Whenever I have raised an issue, it has been dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.

Inspite of the odd niggles, I would highly recommend The Oaks.

Denis was brought to Acer Lodge after 3 weeks in hospital, he was welcomed in by the staff. He hasn't been an easy resident, suffering from Alzheimer's he thinks he is in his own home as he can go into other rooms. The carers are so kind to him, to us, well looked after, kept clean and tidy. Can't praise
the staff enough. Our only problem is loss of property and clothes, even though they are all named, I've had to buy new glasses and a watch.

My Dad became a resident of The Oaks in April and from my very first interaction with the staff, I had a wonderful feel for the place. I live overseas so can't visit Dad as often as I'd like, but when I have visited, Dad has been well taken care of, the facility is very clean and modern and the staff
are wonderful and caring. Dad is thriving since being a resident at The Oaks, and I believe this is down to their care and attention, and him being fed regular meals with a lot of his favorite foods. The home offers lots of daily activities for residents which I follow on social media, so even though I can't be there often, I do feel connected to what is happening. And, of course, I phone regularly, and the staff are always wonderful and helpful, even running the phone up three flights of stairs so I can chat with Dad.

My nanna has dementia and is very vulnerable, life at home got difficult and we as a family had a look at several care homes and the oaks stood out, she was settling in well however on the open day as a family we all visited and I noticed that my Nan had a massive bruise on her left cheek and ear also
going round the back of her head which I told my aunt about and she wasn't informed of any incident that had happened to my Nan, there was no mention of any accident that was logged in the accident book. On that week my aunt asked if I could visit my nan for the week as she had a well needed break during this time I came to visit at different times, one occasion my nan was in bed without a sheet on, another occasion my nan was in bed and her bed linen smelled of strong urine, during meal times my Nan wasn't encouraged to eat in the dining room she was left in her room , my nan would also hide under her blanket out of fear of being hurt, we left milkshake and it was still there the next day.

This care home isn't what it seems my friends mom was a resident here and she was given all her meals in her room instead of encouraging her to the dinner hall, dirty underwear left in her shower by carers, several bruises on different occasions without explanations, dirty bedding which was changed
by relatives and then no sheet on the bed, milkshake left for hours and not replaced, a major incident happened where my friends mom was brutally attacked by another resident which led to hospitalisation and she's been terrified covering herself and crying because she's clearly been hurt multiple times and nothing has been documented.

My Mother was at The Oaks for 4 weeks. During this time my Mother had 2 alleged falls (not witnessed ) only identified injuries when I bought to the homes attention my mothers bruising I had discovered and then this was put down to "it must of been from that fall that nobody witnessed" and yet they
were getting my mom ready every day but nothing documented about bruising it was severe, I have photos . The last incident my Mother was attacked by another resident not witnessed but in my Mother's room was a supposed to be "safe place". My mother ended up in the hospital for a month after this attack, we are broken that this has happened to our Mother & 3 incidents in 4 weeks 2 trips to A&E & also paying £6,400 for the privilege of our Mother to be covered in bruises. WOULD YOU PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE? Staff do their upmost best on the First floor however can not monitor each resident all the time & due to complex needs Insufficient staff level

My sister has been a resident at Acer Lodge for three months.
All of the staff involved in her care have been so attentive and friendly and this has helped tremendously with how she has settled in. I feel that everyone helping my sister wants the best for her and are aware of her specific needs.
The
home exudes a really friendly atmosphere. We are always warmly welcomed by everyone, and the staff genuinely seem to enjoy chatting and getting to know us and want to make sure that everything is going well.
The accommodation is lovely. The private rooms are spacious and well equipped and the lounges and sitting areas make you feel more like you are in a hotel than a care home.
Any questions I have had about the home or my sister's care have been answered straight away and I am confident that concerns would be addressed in the same way.
Acer Lodge has proved to be an excellent setting for my sister and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

My Mom became a resident of The Oaks during August 2025.
From my first initial meeting with the team I was made to feel reasured regarding all of my worries about the transition of Mom's care.
On the day Mom arrived she was welcomed by all with open arms into her new surroundings , her huge smile
gave me the sense of her happiness that we had not seen for a long time......
Mom has been looked after by this incredible team of laundry ,catering ,carers ,nurses , activity & events , reception management who go over and above to make Mom's journey the best we could ever wish for.
My daughters and grandaughters shared a magical experince where a shopping day was created for the residents to spend role play £1 notes on items from stalls ranging from a variety of items.
After Mom's first few weeks , i recieved a beautiful picture of Mom enjoying a glass of prosecco sitting in the sunshine on the patio celebrating National Prossecco day.....
Well done The Oaks you are truly amazing.

My uncle has a life ending condition of Motor Neurone Disease, We had a very stressful and upsetting experience trying to discharge my uncle to an appropriate care facility to accommodate his needs, we had to attend many meetings to get to the appropriate safe discharge plan for him. I was given many
care homes to look at and none gave me the evidence or the criteria that was required to care for my uncles needs.
It was only when I walked into Acer Lodge did I feel reassured and confident that this would be the place I would be happy for him to be cared for. All the staff were professional, respectful and could answer any of my concerns, the warm friendly atmosphere throughout my initial viewing gave me confidence I had found the right place. I was given the opportunity to speak with nurses who would care for my uncles needs and would be happy to take advice from the Motor Neurone Disease team where he was hospitalised and work together in my uncles best interests.

The Oaks is a wonderful home! Modern, beautifully furnished, well kept and clean. All staff from house keepers, laundry, kitchen, carers and management, are very caring, lovely, friendly, and happy people (they rarely waiver even towards the end of long challenging shifts). They all do their very best
for the residents and often go beyond. The carers are just incredible with residents, supporting them in all their daily needs and engaging with them. On my husbands floor there is lots of chatter & exhubrance (along with quiet times) with the carers often leading impromptu singing & dancing from the dining room much to everyones delight! I find management team are also approachable very supportive and will listen and act on any concerns or requests to the very best of their abilities and are led by a wonderful and manager. The activities leaders also get a special mention for all their lots of inovative & enjoyable ideas.
