Bracebridge Care Group is built on Emotional Intelligence through the veins of all that they are and all that they do. They are dedicated to providing exceptional heart-centred care across their newly established care homes. The homes they build are designed to support diverse individual needs, especially people living with dementia. They emphasise inclusivity, welcoming older LGBTQI individuals, and fostering a sense of community and belonging. Each home has a team of dedicated professionals carefully selected for their emotional intelligence and commitment to heart-centred care.

The care environments are thoughtfully crafted to feel like 'home from home', promoting independence and emotional well-being. Including dogs (and ducks in one home!) living in the homes – which offer a true sense of home and a 4-legged friend for everyone! Team members relax when times get tough and people who exhibit heightened emotions are calmed by a dog in the home.

They created a whole system on tech with a focus on giving back time to the team so they can spend more time with the people they support. They employ innovative technologies such as Nourish care planning, Camascope EMAR, and PainChek to ensure high-quality, kind and heart-centred care to everyone including the team. The homes are also equipped with acoustic monitoring systems to enhance people’s safety without unnecessary intrusions especially at night-time.

The team is led by a senior team who understand leadership in care. With the CEO a director on the Outstanding Society, as well as a recipient of the Chief Nurse award, they know that they will keep developing their offer. They are always open to sharing their best practice and have had other care home groups come and join the managers for days in their homes to see how they use their systems and to enable them to learn. They understand that every day offers the opportunity to feel purpose and love.

I had a lovely experience in this home. The environment is always neat and welcoming. I didn't feel I was in a carehome when I visited. The team members were cheerful and amazing even when we stopped by late at night to drop off our friend. He seems really cheerful to be back home. Nice staff, lovely
ambience, great place to sit and have a cup of tea with family.

Mom admitted from hospital - room lovely. No care plan discussed with family. Mom complained food was often cold and unedible. Often left uncomfortable as personal not carried out and then would need full change. Staff often turned buzzer off without answering query and would return some time later.
Very understaffed on daily basis. Staff doing their best. Mom was discharged with hematoma - resulting in re-admission to hospital.

Reply from Samantha Crawley, CEO at The Maples

The Blossom Suite, which is run separately to the care home, is an enablement space, we work with people to help them move on to their next destination. We are so sorry to hear that you were not happy with your experience here. The plan of care for people in the suite is very different to that of someone who lives in a care home and each person is set on a pathway of care to enable them to achieve set outcomes. We are so sorry that we didn't explain how our systems worked, it would be good to speak with you to learn what we can do better. Our team can only switch off the buzzer within the room, they must 'tag' in to the device on the wall to do this. We have helped many people achieve their goal of going home following the care & physio received in the Blossom Suite. We are routinely inspected by our commissioners and staffing levels within the suite are typically very good. Please don't hesitate to make contact so that we can explore what happened during your Mother's stay with us.

The Oaks

from C J (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 March 2025

Mum had tried respite at another home locally and before choosing a long term home we encouraged her to try The Oaks. She initially booked a month's respite but after 2 weeks decided to make it her permanent home. Mum found the staff to be very caring and the atmosphere more calm. She definitely prefers
the food and is finally gaining weight. She absolutely loves Ted (the resident dog). Her room is lovely and when visiting all the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Reply from Amie Archer, Customer Focus Lead at The Oaks

Thank you for the positive feedback for not only our care team, but our kitchen team and of course, TED! It has been a pleasure having mum here with us, she is definitely part of The Oaks family and it is always great to know that you receive a warm welcome during your visits too.

We are generally very pleased with the quality of care provided, especially during February when our friend's birthday celebration was thoughtfully personalised in a particularly meaningful way.

Our friend also thoroughly enjoyed a trip out with staff to a local cafe.

All staff we have met have

generally come across as being sincere, proactive and professional. They are friendly, caring and accommodating. That has been apparent on each visit, typically from the moment we have arrived at reception when we often receive a warm welcome. So it is no surprise to us that our friend has frequently expressed happiness with living at The Oaks.

Reply from Amie Archer, Customer Focus Lead at The Oaks

It is always great being provided positive feedback from a friend or relative of a person living in The Oaks, but to also have that fantastic feedback from the person living here too is amazing - thank you for your review, we love to hear that you receive a warm welcome from our whole team and you can see your friend settling in well to the home and a expression of our person centred care directed to them. We hope that yourself and your friend continue to feel happy with the care here at The Oaks.

I am incredibly grateful for the care my dad received during his two-week respite stay at Acer Lodge care home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure he felt comfortable and well taken care of. The care home itself was immaculate, providing a warm and welcoming environment that made him feel right
at home. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The staff were attentive, always offering us drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. It's clear that they truly care about their residents, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking excellent care in a friendly, caring environment.

Acer Lodge

All the team at Acer Lodge have been outstanding and extremely supportive. I had a need to move dad from a hospital in North Wales to Acer Lodge on an urgent basis which was a daunting thought. I came across Acer Lodge almost by accident which now, looking back, has come as a blessing in disguise. The
team at Acer Lodge managed the process professionally, calmly and efficiently and dealt with the hospital directly.
Acer Lodge is a modern purpose built home and is bright, spacious and located on a canal side which my dad loves to look out upon. I was extremely nervous that dad wouldn't settle there but I needn't have worried, he loves that place. Dad has already taken up drawing again which he hasn't done for some time and has even joined in with singing and dancing when entertainers have visited, something that I didn't think my dad would do.
All in all Acer Lodge has proven to be an excellent choice.

My mum stayed at The Maples for three weeks in order to receive rehabilitation after four weeks in hospital. Lovely place, the staff are really good management, they are really good. Any questions or worries we have get sorted asap. I do think they need more staff but that is ongoing at the moment. Activities for patients to join in are good, just need staff to help them join in more to get to where the activities
are going on. Lovely place, highly recommended.

My mother moved to this care home in early November. Since she has been here, when compared to her previous care home, the staff have been fabulous with the interaction with her. She is very settled and there are lots of activities either put on by the care home or by the staff on a one-to-one basis
which keeps her mind active and stimulated. I have been very impressed with every aspect of Acer Lodge and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high class caring residential home.

My dad arrived at Acer Lodge after the transition was arranged with the managers. They were extremely helpful and provided me with all the information I required. We were welcomed by a lady who was very obliging. We were taken to Dad's room which was very spacious and presented as very comfortable and
Dad instantly felt at home. After a week in this tranquil setting, Dad improved considerably. The care team showed compassion and empathy and respected Dad's wishes. All the staff in the care home from admin to the chef are very approachable and always a pleasure to talk to. I visit numerous care homes with my job role for the NHS and I would like to say the home is outstanding and a pleasure to visit. Keep up the excellent work Acer Lodge and thank you so much.

In August we were offered 5 possible care homes for my 94-year-old father. Acer Lodge had been open for 6 weeks but our overwhelming conclusion was that this was how care should look in the 2020's. The facilities are excellent with the use of technology to assist residents and staff. The rooms are well-furnished
and there is a modern adaptive bathroom on each floor as well as ensuite facilities. The residents spend more time in a family-like environment with a modern lounge. The care is excellent and the staff are warm and welcoming to residents and visitors alike. I would strongly recommend Acer Lodge for its ethos, facilities and dedicated staff.
