Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother spent two weeks at Furze Field Manor in July to experience respite care as she is planning to move in permanently some time in 2026. The staff, facilities & food were all first-class and she preferred the large, bright airy feel of the building compared to other (older) care homes which
seemed rather 'tired'. Recommended.

My mother recently had two weeks of respite care at Furze Field Manor after a long stay in hospital. She was weak and unconfident on arrival, but after two weeks of first class care, she was a different person. She is now ready to go home and resume her independent life. The staff at Furze Feild Manor
were wonderful with her and really helped her on the road to recovery. Highly recommended.

Fantastic interactions from staff with residents throughout. Nothing is too much trouble.
Mum was 90 today and we had a small celebration for her at the home where we could decorate an area for her as a surprise and there was a small buffet and Birthday cake for her. Very memorable occasion for us

My mother had a very happy respite stay.
The staff have all been kind and caring. It's hard to give full review as the home is so new and only a handful of residents.
Mums only comment would be there weren't many activities as there weren't enough people yet. But there will be a full programme available
. We will definatly use the home for respite again in the future and possibly full time.

Potter House Care Home

from Imogen B (Relative of Resident) published on 15 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
As a family we made the decision to place a family member into the care of Potter house.
We had an initial tour with a staff member and she was extremely helpful, giving us all the relevant details and making us feel very comfortable with the care our relative was going to receive.
The manager has
also been a huge help to our family as it's been difficult with other family members living overseas, and has gone out of his way to ensure our relative is happy and settled and keeps regular communication with family.
The home itself is beautiful, very well maintained. All of the staff are lovely and friendly, cannot do enough for the residents or the families who visit.
We love that the home encourages social activities not only for the residents but also for their families to join, it's just a lovely touch.
Cakes are also usually 10/10.
And also a special mention to another staff member, he is helpful and happy whenever we visit and so friendly always!
Would highly recommended potter house!

Having been invited to view Furzefield Manor Care Home by the General Manager we knew that this was the perfect choice for our relative living with dementia.
All staff were welcoming and the attention/care given to the individual needs of the residents, was very impressive.
The home build and facilities
is of an exceptional standard, offering much comfort and incorporating varied activity areas such as, a cinema, hair salon, library, gardening areas, for those who live there.
The entire team of employees at FFM work together well to create a welcoming, caring, safe and pleasant home environment for all residents, and their visiting relatives and friends. Thank you.

We spent 4 weeks at Rownhams having respite care. Staff were kind, caring and hardworking. The food was very good and our clients were well catered for. The rooms were kept clean by lovely friendly cleaners and our clothes were whisked away by the laundry staff only to reappear a couple of days later
beautifully clean and ironed! Activities such as exercises, trips etc, were fun and we returned home with recharged batteries. Thank you for caring for us!

Coming to visit our old friend for a second time we were again struck by the cleanliness and arrangements and hospitality of the staff.
The gardens however were very disappointing everything wanted a through watering. To walk around and see everything looking so sad cannot be good experience. Such
